LETTER TO THE READERS
Dear Readers,
Hello dearest readers! Welcome to my portfolio! This portfolio
is a treasure box that I intend to keep for a lifetime. It contains all of
my priceless memories, learnings, and moments from my work
immersion at the Brgy, bolilao, Mandurriao, Iloilo City (EMBLA
TRAVEL & TOUR SERVICES). As a HUMSS student, I’m grateful that I
did my work immersion at Bgry. Bolilao, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
This work immersion experience is critically important, as we
venture beyond the confines of our school to acquire new knowledge
and lessons in collaborating with others. We do not merely work
externally; we also engage with different individuals to understand
how they manage their task and the reasons behind their actions.
Through this journey, I have not only enhanced my skills and
knowledge but also developed a deeper appreciation for the value of
teamwork and community engagement. Each experience
documented in this portfolio reflects my growth and the
unforgettable moments that have shaped me into the person I am
today. I hope that as you explore my work, you find inspiration and
insight into the lessons I’ve learned during my time at EMBLA
TRAVEL & TOUR SERVICES. Thank you for joining me on this
adventure, and I took forward to sharing more of my journey with
you in the future!
Sincerely,
Leah Zalynne Cabalfin

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to our loving
and powerful God for the blessings and guidance all throughout my entire
existence. To my beloved homeroom teacher and also my work immersion
teacher, Miss Annie B. Panes, thank you for your support, care, efforts and
sharing your knowledge with us. I have seen your struggles and your
eagerness just to manage and facilitate all of us, despite our large number.
Thank you for teaching us lessons that are more realistic so that we can
apply in the near future.
Special thanks to Miss Analen Y. Yanson, and Blessie Dela Cruz for
sharing their great skills and knowledge. Thank you for inspiring me. Your
words of advice have motivated me to pursue my dream profession. And
also, for letting us be like a professional just like you in just a small period of
time. Thank you very much for accommodating us and for your patience.
Just as importantly, to my beloved alma mater Colegio de San Jose,
thank you for making this possible although everything did not go as
planned, since there were lots of adjustments. I would like to give my
utmost respect to our Principal, Miss Noeme Jutajero for her all-out effort in
finding the right management that would accommodate all of us for our
Work Immersion.
This report would also not have been possible without the support and
encouragement of my family and friends, who provided unwavering belief in
my abilities. Their constant support had been a source of strength and
motivation throughout this journey.
Finally, I acknowledge any limitations of this report and welcome
constructive criticism. I believe this working immersion experience has
significantly enhanced my understanding of the travel and tourism industry
and has prepared me for future endeavors in this field. Thank You!

INTRODUCTION
GRADE 12 Senior High School Students have started their work
immersion related to their selected academic track or their selected
vocational course. The Immersion trains students and strengthen their skill
or expertise for their work in the future. It is part of the K-12 program which
prepares students to work in companies.
According to the Department of Education, this program is an 80-hour
hands-on encounter which Senior High students must experience to open
them to the genuine working environment setting and improve their abilities
learned in school. The Department of Labor and Employment said work this
is an integral part of the K to 12 Program in fully realizing its goal to produce
job ready graduates equipped with industry-based skills. DOLE strongly
affirms that work immersion contributes to the full realization of the
objectives of the K to 12 Program.
Through this program, the students can be ready for their big step in
working and be comfortable and familiar with business-related conditions in
line with their specialization. Students experience the social interaction in
work environment that would help them as they graduate and face real life.
Work Immersion is useful as it enables Senior High students to decide if
what they have chosen in school is what they want to have as a career.
Being able to test their skills and knowledge in practice will help them
develop their career choice.

OBJECTIVES OF THE WORK
IMMERSION
Work Immersion will help develop among the learner's life and career
skills, and will prepare them to make decisions on postsecondary education
or employment. Through partnership building, DepEd hopes that the Partner
Institutions will provide learners with work immersion opportunities,
workplace or hands-on experience, and additional learning resources. It
aims to make the learners:
• Appreciate the importance and application of the principles and theories
learned in school
• Enhance their technical knowledge and skills;
• Enrich their skills in communications and human relations:
• Develop good work habits. Attitudes, appreciation and respect for work
• To become familiar with the work place;
• For employment simulation; and
• To apply their competencies in areas of specialization/ applied subjects in
authentic work environments.
By the time learners reach Senior High School, they would have
already acquired almost all the competencies and skills that would prepare
them for the curriculum exits. Work immersion provides them with an
avenue to test themselves and apply what they have learned in a non-
school scenario. In Work immersion, learners are not only able to apply their
previous training but are also able to experience the social interaction in a
work environment. Their experiences during work immersion will develop
many skills and values that would help them as they transition from high
school to real life.
