Rotaract District Directory 2024-25

Founder of Rotary International

Paul P. Harris
Rotary began with the vision of Paul P. Harris, who on February 23,
1905, met with three business associates in a small Chicago office.
They discussed the weather and their families, and they started a
booster club, unknowingly planting the seed for a global service
organization.
Paul P. Harris was born on April 19, 1868, in Racine, Wisconsin. He
graduated in law from the University of Iaw in 1891 and received an
honorary LLD from the University of Vermont. Establishing his law
practice in Chicago, Harris led a diverse life, engaging in freelance
reporting, acting, teaching, selling marble and granite, working as a
cowboy, and serving as a hotel night clerk. His extensive travels and
experiences inspired him to create a movement uniting professionals
across vocations.
The first Rotary Club, named for its rotating meetings, started with
three members. Membership quickly grew, and the second club was
founded in San Francisco in 1908. Rotary Clubs spread rapidly
across America, leading to the formation of the National Association
of Rotary Clubs in 1910. By 1912, clubs had formed in Canada and
Great Britain, and in 1922, the movement was renamed "Rotary
International" to reflect its global reach.

Dear fellow Rotaractors:

As we begin a new year of service, let us not forget the importance of every one of
Rotaractor members.

We need your leadership now more than ever if we are to make every club and district an
irresistible experience. Rotary has a chance to capture the world’s attention and realize
possibilities beyond our expectations. But we must build on the work that has come
before us if we are to reach our goals, such as defeating polio and unlocking the power of
girls and women.

Rotary offers people of action a chance to connect and find belonging, and this fellowship
gives us the potential to improve our communities and the world. By following Rotary’s
action plan and helping make sure all members feel a sense of belonging in their club, you
have a special opportunity to inspire members to new heights of service.

Our ability to create lasting change begins with our family of Rotary. Together, it is within
our power to bring healing in a divided world. Join me in making Rotary a source of

Dear Rotaract leaders,

Rotary Greetings!

At the outset I convey my heartiest congratulations to DRR Geetika as she embarks on a unique
journey of growth, leadership, service, and friendship.
It was in 1998 that I served as the First Lady DRR of our District. Now DRR Geetika has become
the seventh Lady DRR in 2024. I am sure she will add an extra touch of Shakti and compassion in
the year ahead.
The word ‘act’ in Rotaract is symbolic of ‘Action’. Youth is most sensitive to the needs of the
community and has the necessary vitality to answer to these needs. Rotaract offers young leaders a
chance to act, integrate, and innovate to create the magic of service, fellowship, and growth. We
hope to see Rotaract foster stronger relationships and bonds of friendship and service with Interact
and Rotary.
As District leaders and Club Presidents, you can do so much to help create Rotaract experiences
that are welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable for each and every member.
May you continue to grow as Rotaractors so that you stand in our community as a symbol of those
willing to freely put service above self and make our community and the world a better place to
live as true global citizens.

humanity needed help, there was one or more Rotarian, Rotaractor or
Interactor along with other good samaritans who always came forward to
help.

In this fast paced world we live in today, the consumption of information is

overwhelming. Through social media we stay informed about what is
happening around us but so are we vulnerable to fall prey to misinformation!

That’s why I urge all of you to work more on the grounds. Go and meet
people in need, elevate sections of society with your resources and
knowledge. Build communities which would stand strong in the times to come
to lead the future generations towards prosperity and harmony.

Don’t just focus on building good personality, skills or connections;

emphasise on building a strong character!

Greetings from Rotaract South Asia MDIO!

As we step into 57th year of Rotaract, I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank the great
effort of all the Rotaractors in the past, that made a positive influence in the society. Their
selfless actions, perseverance, and achievements have made this organisation great and achieve
wonders. Originally, Rotaract's prime agenda was to develop leadership, skills and
entrepreneurship skills amongst young adults with fellowship through service. Today, we are
much bigger than that, today we have been elevated. We are the young professionals who are on
a journey to make this world a better place to live.

The harmony in working as a team is the mantra of a successful symphony. There are many
individuals who still don’t believe in teamwork, but it is surely the centre piece of the big puzzle
we call 'better world'. It is upon us the youth to prove the world that we can do it together.

As you kickstart your tenure as the DRR of District 3011, I want to send the best wishes to you
as well as your entire district for successful and flourishing Rotary year 2024-25. While you
have already planned and set goals and targets for your year, always keep in the back of mind,
we grow as leaders by bringing ideas and people together and not by dividing them. Whatever
action you take, no matter how tough a decision is, make sure that it has a larger perspective and
at the same time, it helps your team grow as individuals. Be the leader everyone wants to follow
and trust me. You shall leave a legacy of your own once the time of your tenure runs out.

Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change the things for

I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to DRR Geetika for the successful compilation
and presentation of this directory, and for providing me with the opportunity to connect with you
all. My association with District 3011 has been profoundly meaningful, particularly since my
involvement in Rotasia at Chandigarh in 2017. In District 3011, Rtr. Ritanshu Sharma and PDRR
Arpit Mehra have been invaluable contacts, along with a few other close friends. I have always
admired Arpit's exceptional approach to Rotaract, which continues to inspire me. His exemplary
leadership and dedication serve as a benchmark for all of us in the community. This directory is
not just a collection of names and contacts but a testament to the vibrant network we share. I look
forward to fostering even deeper connections and collaborating on future initiatives within our
district. I wish all the council members of Geetika and all the Presidents of 2024-25, a very good
time to enjoy while serving, best wishes to RI Dist. 3011.

As you all know that we went through the challenging times, but determination and patience is
required to come out of the situations. The pandemic has taught us many things and one such is
change is inevitable. Change is necessary and we all must embrace it. These changes test our
ability to lead. But as Rotaractors let's strive our best to continue doing Rotaraction to benefit the
society and strengthen our organization. And strive not be successful, but to be of value. It is the
attitude that defines the service, not the size. Service is done for a cause but not for result. As said
by our past RI President Rtn. Shekhar Mehta, "Service is the rent I pay for the space I occupy on
the Earth." Let us all be good tenants, do more - grow more & serve to change lives.

An Assistant Manager at Deloitte, she leverages her

Master’s in Economics from the prestigious Delhi School
of Economics to excel in government consulting. Her
journey began as an Interactor, culminating in chartering
and leading the Rotaract Club of Delhi Elite. As
President, she achieved unparalleled success, securing top
honors including the Governor’s Best President award.
Her commitment to community service continued as
District Professional Services Chair and District Rotaract
Secretary, where she was recognized as Outstanding
Secretary by Rotaract South Asia MDIO and received the
Governor’s Elite Award from Rotary District 3011.
Beyond her professional and community endeavors, she
is a disciplined individual with a Black Belt in
Taekwondo. A blend of academic excellence, leadership,
and determination, she is a high-achiever.

ROTARACT ORGANIZATION
Rotaract clubs unite people ages 18 and older to exchange ideas with
community leaders, develop leadership and professional skills, and
engage in service activities. Rotary and Rotaract members
collaborate globally to create positive change, with 10,684 clubs,
162,354 Rotaractors, and presence in 183 countries. Rotaract
embodies "Rotary in Action."

The main motto of Rotaract is "Rotary in Action." Members

participate in a variety of activities, including community service
projects, professional development workshops, leadership training
programs, networking events, international exchanges, fundraising
for charitable causes, and social events. These activities foster
personal and professional growth while making a significant impact
on communities.

Joining Rotaract provides numerous benefits, such as fostering

lasting friendships, developing leadership skills, making a tangible
impact on local and global communities, gaining experience in
project management and teamwork, and enhancing cultural
understanding through international service.

R.I. District 301, established on July 1, 1984, and covering the

National Capital Territory of Delhi and parts of Haryana and Uttar
Pradesh, was renumbered to 3010 in 1991-92 and renamed 3011 in
2015. This year marks the tenth anniversary of RID 3011. Join us in
our mission to create positive change and make a difference in our
communities and beyond. Together, we can achieve more!

Multi-District Information Organisation

Rotaract South Asia Multi-District Information Organisation
On 19th July 2010, Karthik Kittu as the Charter President, and
Thansen Pandi as the Charter Secretary laid the foundation of
Rotaract South Asia MDIO.

SEARIC MDIO
South East Asian Rotaract Information Centre
In 1991, the organization was officially chartered but later dissolved.
It was revived again in January 2014, with Tuhin Poddar serving as
the president and Mahmudul Hasan as the Secretary.

ROTARACT INDIA MDIO

It was chartered in April 2022, with Vatsal Khimasiya serving
as the Charter Chair and Manoj Varanasi as the Charter
Secretary.

SEVEN AREAS OF FOCUS

Disease Prevention and Treatment - Educating and equipping
communities to prevent life-threatening diseases.
Peace and Conflict Resolution - By executing service projects and
funding peace fellowships and scholarships, members tackle the root
causes of conflict, such as poverty, discrimination, ethnic tension,
limited access to education, and resource inequality.
Clean Water and Sanitation - Access to clean water and sanitation
reduces waterborne diseases, keeps children healthier and in school,
and frees up mothers to support their families.
Maternal and Child Health - Providing high-quality healthcare to
vulnerable mothers and children, enabling them to live longer and

5. FOR THE INSTALLATION CEREMONY:

For the installation ceremony, the outgoing President and

Secretary should be on the left of the Chief Guest, and the
incoming President and Secretary should be on the extreme right
of the Chief Guest. After the handing over of charge, the
Presidents and Secretaries should exchange respective places.
The Chief Guest must be introduced by a Past President and the
vote of thanks must be presented by the Vice President/Event
Chair/Event Secretary.

CLUB SECRETARY

1. Acquire Essential Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with Rotaract

guidelines through the District Documentation, rotary.org, and other
relevant materials.
2. Understand Club Constitution and By-Laws: Thoroughly
review the club's governing documents to ensure all activities align
with its rules.
3. Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of club membership
and attendance at weekly meetings alongside with sergeant at arms.
4. Prepare and Distribute Agendas: Draft agendas, send notices for
board and committee meetings, and document and preserve the
minutes.
5. Support the President: Assist the president in forming the club's
committee plan and coordinating activities.
6. Liaise with Committees: Maintain comprehensive reports on
committee activities and progress.
7. Process New Memberships: Oversee the processing of new
membership proposals.

anniversaries of club members and district officers and send greetings

12. Attend Training: Participate in district assemblies, and other
training seminars to fully understand the club's administrative plans.
13. Maintain Club History: Document the club’s history and
prepare an annual report.
14. Update Roster and Materials: Maintain an up-to-date club
roster and oversee logistical arrangements, including updating

DRR'S OFFICIAL VISIT PLANNING

1. Communicating with the DRR:

Subject: Official Visit Confirmation and Arrangements
Content: Check your club's official visit date in the district directory
and confirm it. Write a formal letter or email to the DRR, informing her
of the time, date, and venue of the meeting. Mention the arrangements
being made for her, the District Secretary, and the Zonal
Representative, if they are accompanying her. If there are any special
tasks, such as the inauguration of a project, that you would like her to
carry out during her visit, provide those details in advance.
Additionally, include any necessary information or directions to help
her find her way to the venue.
2. Informing the Zonal Representative & ADRS:
Notify the Zonal Representative and the Assistant District Rotaract
Secretary (ADRS) of the program details and the arrangements being
made. Seek their advice or input to ensure everything is in order.
3. DRR's Official Visit Form:
Ensure that the "DRR's Official Visit Form" is completed and sent to
the DRR at least one week before the scheduled visit. This form should
include all necessary details and arrangements for the visit.
4. Informing the Parent Rotary Club:
Inform your Parent Rotary Club about the DRR's visit. Coordinate with
them to ensure their involvement in the day's activities.

5. Meeting with the President/Secretary: Arrange a confidential meeting

between the DRR and your club's President and Secretary as the first session
of the day. This private meeting is an opportunity for the DRR to gather
information, ask questions, and discuss any sensitive issues. You can also
use this time to establish the format for the club meeting later in the day.

6. Meeting with the Board of Directors: Arrange a meeting with the DRR
and all board members of the club. During this meeting, inform the DRR
about the programs your club has already undertaken, and discuss new
initiatives. Ensure that all directors are prepared with brief reports on
activities under their respective avenues and plans for future projects.

7. Meeting with Rotary President/Secretary or any representative:

Before the DRR's arrival, inform your Rotarians about her visit and their
scheduled meeting with her. During this session, discuss Rotary-Rotaract
relations and any joint projects that have been undertaken. Provide the DRR
with an opportunity to talk personally with your Rotary President, Secretary,
and representatives.

8. Club General Meeting: Inform all club members about this special
meeting with the DRR. Encourage members to feel free to interact with the
DRR and seek any information they need regarding Rotary-Rotaract
relations or other matters.

ROTARACT CLUB MEMBERSHIP

QUALIFICATIONS, DUTIES, AND
RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Age Group: 18-30 years. (Exemption: Individuals who are 30

years old or older cannot join Rotaract. However, those who are
already members and turn 30 or older may continue their
membership.)
2. Qualifications for Membership:
Must be within the eligible age group.
Should have a genuine interest in making new friends.
Must possess skills, and attributes that contribute to the club.
Should be willing to dedicate personal time to club activities.
Must be enthusiastic and active in daily life.
3. Member Duties:
Pay all dues promptly.
Attend at least 60% of the club’s regular meetings.
Participate in project meetings and activities.
4. Member Rights:
Wear the official lapel pin, and attend meetings of other clubs.
Express opinions on matters related to the club and its activities.
Review the financial accounts of the club, as per the club’s
bylaws.
