Weekly Narrative Report

Week: January 17-23, 2025

DAY 7: On my seventh day of OJT, I was assigned to record timings in the CARO while
also inspecting passengers' luggage. This required accuracy and attention to detail to ensure

all procedures were properly followed. I was also responsible for handling the AOD, where
I documented crucial information regarding the aircraft's arrival. Specifically, I recorded
the timings for the Hong Kong arrival to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. As part of
my routine tasks, I managed the eTravel process, ensuring that all necessary travel
documents were processed correctly. Over time, I have become more efficient in handling
this responsibility. Overall, the day was productive as I continued to develop my skills in
timekeeping, documentation, and operational procedures.

DAY 8: As I arrived at the airport for my eighth day of OJT, my first task was to handle
the distribution of the manifest, which contains the arrival information. I ensured that

copies were properly distributed to the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), the Airport
Operations Control Center (AOCC), as well as Immigration A and Immigration D. After
completing the distribution, I proceeded to the CARO, where I monitored and checked the
luggage to ensure that none would fall while being traported. While my team handled the
timing records, I remained in CARO to observe and oversee the luggage flow, ensuring that
everything was in order. Overall, the day was focused on documentation distribution and
baggage monitoring, both of which helped me further understand the importance of
coordination and operational efficiency in airport procedures.
DAY 9: Day nine of my OJT was particularly busy due to the high number of passengers
arriving at the international arrival area. Amidst the rush, Sir Vince asked me to handle a

task involving a phone that had been left behind on the aircraft. I was assigned to ask the
passengers in the CARO if any of them owned the phone. However, since no one claimed it,
we had to surrender it to the 5J office, following the standard procedure for lost and found
items. Our team is consistently assigned to handle left-behind or missing belongings of
passengers, ensuring they are properly documented and returned if possible. After
surrendering the phone, I proceeded back to CARO to continue my usual task of monitoring
and recording the timings. Overall, it was a hectic but productive day that reinforced the
importance of proper coordination and adherence to airport protocols in handling passenger
belongings and operational tasks.

DAY 10: On my tenth day of OJT, I was not feeling well because of the ot (over time), but I
still managed to report to the airport and fulfill my duties. Understanding my condition, my
supervisors assigned me lighter tasks for the day. I remained in the CARO, assisting in

monitoring passengers' luggage to ensure everything was properly handled. My role was to
oversee the baggage area and wait until all passengers had collected their belongings. Despite
not feeling my best, I stayed focused and ensured that my assigned responsibilities were
completed. This day reminded me of the importance of resilience and teamwork, as my
colleagues supported me while I continued to contribute to the operations in the best way I
could.
DAY 11: On my eleventh day of OJT, I felt much better and was ready to take on my tasks for the
day. Upon our arrival at the airport, I took the initiative to distribute the manifest in the offices,

working alongside Karen. Once we completed this task, we checked the flight radar and saw that
there were numerous arrivals scheduled for the day. With this information, we quickly became
occupied, moving back and forth in our high heels to ensure that everything was running smoothly.
After handling the manifest distribution, we proceeded to the (CARO) area to assist our team in
monitoring luggage and addressing passengers' needs. Our support was essential in ensuring that
baggage handling operations were well-coordinated and efficient. Following the completion of tasks
for the domestic flight, I then proceeded to the eTravel section. Since we are only allowed to assist
there when an international arrival is scheduled, I took the opportunity to help at least six
passengers with their eTravel requirements. Ensuring that they had a smooth process gave me a
sense of fulfillment in assisting international travelers. Once we completed our duties at eTravel, we
returned to the CARO area to continue supporting our team. It was a busy but productive day, and
I gained valuable experience in handling various responsibilities at the airport. This day reinforced
the importance of teamwork, efficiency, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

DAY 12: The twelfth day of my OJT was quite stressful. After completing our task of recording the
timings at CARO, we encountered an issue with a piece of left-behind luggage that had no name or
identifying information. Sir Vince asked Licia and me to take the luggage to the 5J office. However,
upon our arrival, the guard informed us that they could not accept it due to the lack of a tag
identifying its owner. We were then instructed to take it to the departure area's Lost and Found
section. When we arrived at Lost and Found, we were again told that they could not accept the
luggage and that it should be returned to the LIPAD office. This added to our stress, as we were the

ones handling the bag and overthinking the situation. Upon arriving at LIPAD Security, we faced
the same issue they also could not accept the luggage due to the absence of identifying information.
At this point, Licia and I were at a loss for what to do next. Fortunately, Sir Vince messaged us and
informed us that the luggage owner had been found at the 5J office. We immediately proceeded back
there and met the young owner, who greeted us with a smile. Before handing over the bag, we asked
security to inspect it. After checking, we discovered that it was filled with chocolates. Once the owner
retrieved the luggage, we returned to CARO to assist the team with recording timings. Additionally,
we documented the names of passengers requiring wheelchairs and the staff responsible for assisting
them. Despite the challenges we faced that day, I learned the importance of patience, problem-
solving, and communication in handling unexpected situations at the airport.
