Pacifier Clip Pumkin
Pacifier Clip Pumpkin
by Sockan Crochet
About the pattern
This pattern can be adjusted to your desired length and
appearance. The pacifier clip can be made in various designs with
different colors. In this pattern, the pacifier clip is made using
two different colors. The length of the pattern can be customized
according to your needs and taste. In this pattern, the pacifier clip
Materials is a total of 17 cm (about 6.7 inches) long (including the clip) and
consists of 9 pumpkins.
- Cotton yarn 4/8
at least 2 colors This pattern is based on a set of 4 stitches, which means you can
(or yarn of equivalent thickness)
adjust the length of your pacifier clip as long as your stitch count
- Pacifier clip is in multiples of 4. After that, add one stitch to start the pattern.
Each pumpkin is made up of 5 stitches, with the next pumpkin
using the last stitch of the previous one. Therefore, the pattern is
calculated with 4 stitches + 1 starting stitch.

- Crochet hook size 2.5 mm

Abbreviations Step 1.
Chain stitch - ch Start by crocheting a foundation
Slip stitch - sl st chain with 37 stitches (4 x 9 + 1
Single crochet - sc = 37). This will create a total of 9
Half double crochet - hdc pumpkins, or adjust according to
your desired length (keeping in
mind that each pumpkin takes up
4 stitches + 1 starting stitch).
Refer to the guide at the end of
the pattern for instructions on
how to make a foundation chain.
1.
Step. 2 Repeat *Make 5 hdc in 2nd ch from the hook, sk 1 st and make 1 sl st*
DThe last stitch of the foundation chain now counts as your first stitch. Make 5 half double crochets in the
3rd stitch, fastening the last half double crochet with a slip stitch in the 5th stitch. This pattern is repeated
along the entire foundation chain, i.e., 5 hdc in the 7th stitch, one sl st in the 9th stitch, 5 hdc in the 11th
stitch, and one sl st in the 13th stitch, and so on.
If you’re making a pacifier clip with different colored pumpkins, change colors at each slip stitch
(see image). To carry the thread from the previous color, lay it along the foundation chain and crochet it into
the half double crochets.
When the last slip stitch is made, start the pattern the same way on the other side. Since the slip stitch from
the previous side was placed in the last stitch of the foundation chain, you don’t need to make another one.
Now, make 5 half double crochets in the 3rd stitch (the same stitch that already has 5 half double crochets on
the other side).
Continue this pattern until you reach the end of the foundation chain and secure it with a slip stitch in the
first stitch of the foundation chain.

Step 3. Chain 2 + 4 sts

with a slip stitch in the foundation
chain.
(hdc-blo)
Backside
That is, 5 half double crochets followed by a slip stitch
(see image). On this row as well, color changes happen
in the slip stitch, and the thread is carried through by
being crocheted into the back loop (see image).
When you reach the last pumpkin, the loop for the
pacifier needs to be made. Make half double crochets
(hdc) in the first 5 stitches, then a slip stitch in the
sixth stitch, followed by 25 chain stitches. After that, Frontside Backside
make another slip stitch in the sixth stitch and then 5
half double crochets in the remaining 5 stitches of the
pumpkin.
Then repeat 5 half double crochets followed by a
slip stitch until you reach your starting stitch of
this row, in which you make a slip stitch.
3.
Step 4.
If you’ve crocheted with more
Backside than one color, you now have
three yarn threads; otherwise,
you have two.
Thread with color 2
Thread from the foundation
chain – this is left to be used to
attach the pacifier clip later.
Thread with color 1
If you’ve crocheted with one color, cut the yarn so you have a tail of about 165 cm (65 inches). If you’ve cro-
cheted with two colors, you only need about 90 cm (35 inches) of each thread.
If you used two colors, use the color of your first pumpkin, in this case, color 1.
Thread the yarn for the current color onto a tapestry needle and make 5 wraps according to the image below.
After this, insert the needle into the back of the next pumpkin, through the loops of your first half double
crochets (as shown in the image). Then repeat the 5 wraps on the next pumpkin, continuing this process until
you reach your last pumpkin of this color.
If you have two colors, repeat this process with the next color as well.

Steg 5.
Now the stem of the pumpkin needs to be made. Do
this by using a new color and a tapestry needle to
make two stitches diagonally up from the top of the
pumpkin into the second stitch of our first row of half
double crochets (as shown in the image). Then move
up to the next pumpkin on the back of the pacifier
clip; this can be done in a way that you think looks
best or according to the images below.
When you’ve finished all the stems, secure all loose
threads EXCEPT the thread that was left over from the
foundation chain.

Step 6.
Use the tail end of the foundation chain to attach the pacifier clip.
Now the pacifier clip is finished! Don’t forget to block it to straighten and
ensure a neat result.
5.
Fundation Chain
Determine the length you want for your foundation chain and multiply it by three, for example, 21 cm x 3 =
63 cm. Then, measure out approximately 63 cm from the end of the yarn, and at this point, make the starting
loop. Lay the tail of the yarn over the crochet hook from front to back, creating a small tunnel. With the other
part of the yarn, make a regular chain stitch (ch), pulling it through both the tunnel and the starting loop.
Repeat this until you have the desired number of stitches.
