4. Find the value of x, if 18% of x is 360.

5. Add: a – b + ab, b – c + bc and c + a – ac.

6. Subtract: 5x2 – 4y2 + 6y – 3 from 7x2 – 4xy + 5x – 3y.

7. Find the area of a rhombus whose diagonals are 8.4 cm and 7 cm.

8. Find the height of a Cuboid whose base area is 170 cm2 and Volume is 850 cm3.
9.A rectangular piece of paper 11 cm x 4 cm is folded without overlapping to make a

10. The area of a trapezium shaped field is 480 m2, the distance between two parallel
sides is 15 m and one of the parallel side is 20 m. Find the other parallel side.

12.In a building there are 24 cylindrical pillars. The radius of each pillar is 28 cm and
height is 4 m. Find the total cost of painting the curved surface of all pillars at Rs 8
per m2.
13. (i) Simply the expression and find the value: 5x (2x – 5) – 3(x – 2) – 20 if x = - 2 and y=3.
(ii) Find the product: (m + n – p) ( m + n – p ).
14. If 15% VAT is included in the price of a laptop bought for Rs. 45000. Find the original of a laptop.
15. A rectangular paper of width 14 cm is rolled along its width and a cylinder of radius 20 cm is

18. The floor of a building consists of 3000 tiles which are rhombus shaped and each of its
diagonals are 45 cm and 30 cm in length. Find the total cost of polishing the floor, if the cost per m2
is Rs. 12.
19, A road roller takes 450 complete revolutions to move once over to level a road. Find the area of
the road if the diameter of a road roller is 1.68 m and length is 7 m.
20.The length of the fence of a trapezium shaped field ABCD is 120m .if BC=48m,CD= 17m and AD=
40cm.Find the area of this field.Side AB is perpendicular to the parallel sides AD and BC.( Draw
figure of trapezium shaped field)
21.If each edge of a cube is doubled, then
(i) How many times will its surface area increase?
(ii) How many times will its volume increase?
22. Find the total surface area of a cylinder whose diameter is 14 cm and height is 8 cm.
23. Find lateral surface area of a cube whose edge is 8 cm.
24. (i) Add: a – b + ab , b – c + bc and c – a + ac.
(ii) Subtract 4x – 7xy + 3y + 12 from 12x – 9xy + 5y – 3
25. 80% of 30 students are good in Mathematics. How many are not good in Mathematics?

26. Find the compound Interest when a sum of Rs. 8000 is invested for 2 years at the rate of 10%
per annum compounded annually.

27. (i) Subtract 3x( x + y + z) – 2y (x – y + z ) from 4z( - x + y + z).


(ii) Add: 4y (3y2 + 5y – 7 ) and 2 (y3 – 4y2 + 5).
28. The population of a city increase to 48400 in 2022 at a rate of 10% per annum. Find
(i) the population in 2020. (ii) what would be its population in 2024?
29. The floor of a building consists of 4000 tiles which are rhombus shaped and each of its
diagonals are 45 cm and 30 cm in length. Find the total cost of polishing the floor, if the cost per m2
is Rs. 8.
30. A road roller takes 750 complete revolutions to move once over to level a road. Find the area of
the road if the diameter of a road roller is 84 cm and length is 1 m.
