“Optimism is the
faith that leads
to achievement.
Nothing can be
done without
hope and
confidence.”
Deep in a burrow, safe underground,
lived Bunny Bella, the Easter Bunny. She
had a soft, fuffy tail and a hop so quick
that she could bounce from one side of
the burrow to the other in a blink. Each
year, she and her helpers—the chickens
and rabbits—worked hard to prepare
colourful eggs for Easter morning.
The chickens laid eggs and clucked
cheerfully, while the rabbits helped
paint them in beautiful, bright colours.
They worked day and night, making sure
everything was perfect for the big day.
But this year, something unexpected
happened. As Easter approached, the
chickens and rabbits grew tired. Their
feathers drooped, and the rabbits
stretched out, yawning widely.
"Bella," said the eldest rabbit, "we’re
exhausted! We’ve been working so hard,
and we need a rest. We’re taking a
holiday before Easter!"

Before Bella could say a word, the

chickens and rabbits packed their
suitcases and hopped away to a sunny
island, leaving her all alone.
Bella’s heart sank. "Oh no! Easter is just
days away! How ever will I get all the
eggs ready on my own?"

She thought and thought and thought

some more.
Then, she had an idea.
.
She called on her woodland friends—
squirrels, mice, deer, and even the wise
old owl. "Will you help me save Easter?"
she asked.
But they were busy preparing for winter
and couldn't help.
She paced back and forth, thinking hard
again. What ever would she do?
Just then, there was a knock on the
door.

It was the wily weasels, the honking

geese, and the badgering badgers.
"We heard Easter might be ruined and
wanted to help!"
Bella thought hard, she was told by her
Mama and Papa not to trust weasels,
badgers, and geese,
but what could she do?

She decided to trust her instincts not

here say and invited them in.

“Please do come in and help!”

"Of course!" they all cheered.
The geese laid the eggs, the weasels
carefully dipped eggs in golden hues,
and with their tail brushed them with
pinks and blues, and the badgers tied
little bows around them and gently
carried the fnished eggs, placing them
in neat baskets, ready to be hidden for
children to fnd.
With teamwork and determination, they
worked late into the night, fnishing just
in time. As the sun rose on Easter
morning, Bella looked around at the
beautifully decorated eggs and sighed
with relief.
Just then, the chickens and rabbits
returned, looking refreshed and happy.
But when they saw all the eggs
perfectly prepared, they gasped. "Bella!
You did it without us?"
"Not without you," Bella smiled. "With
new friends! Easter is about joy and
teamwork."
From that day on, all the woodland
animals joined the Easter preparations,
making it a celebration for all and
ensuring that no one was left in or out
and no one was over or under worked.
And Bella knew that no matter what,
Easter would always be saved—with a
little help from friends.
