SCHEME OF STUDIES
SCHOLASTIC DOMAIN
A student will study the following subjects:
Compulsory English, 2nd Language (Hindi, French, German) Mathematics,
Subjects Science and Social Sciences. Weightage 100 for each subject; Total =
500
Additional Subjects Artificial Intelligence, Painting and Hindustani Music
(Vocal/Percussion/ Melodic Instrument
Structure of Assessment Scheme: The Assessment scheme will have an 80 marks component for
the Board Examination in all compulsory subjects along with a 20 marks component of Internal
Assessment. Students must secure 33 percent in total in each of these components. The End of
Term, Midterm and Preboard Assessments are an essential component of the above-mentioned
Internal Assessments. The additional subjects will also be assessed as per CBSE guidelines.
Board Examination: The Board Examination in each subject will cover the entire syllabus released
by CBSE for Class-X. Grades corresponding to the marks shall be based on a 9-point grading
system. Grades will be awarded in each scholastic subject. For awarding the grades, the Board
will put all the passed students in a rank order and will award the grades as follows:

Internal Assessments (20 Marks): One-time year-end examination (compulsory subjects) is
complimented and supplemented with Internal Assessment (IA) that assesses students in diverse
manner, at different times and examines a broad range of curriculum objectives. IA, in effect
school-based assessment, plays the dual role of providing a complete picture of students’ abilities
or progress towards fulfilling the aims of education and informing teachers of students’ progress
and therefore supporting classroom learning. It also informs the individual learner about his/ her
progress over a period enabling them to develop strategies to improve learning. The additional
subjects will also be assessed as per CBSE guidelines.

1. Section A: Reading Comprehension through Unseen Passage
▪ Discursive Passage of 400-450 words.
Multiple Choice Questions / Objective Type Questions, and Short
Answer Questions (to be answered in 30-40 words) will be asked
to assess comprehension, interpretation, analysis, inference,
evaluation and vocabulary.
2. Section B: Writing Skills and Grammar
▪ Formal Letter: Letter to the Editor
▪ Grammar: Determiners, Tenses and Modals
Accurate use of spelling, punctuation and grammar in context will
be assessed through Gap Filling/ Editing/Transformation
exercises.
3. Section C: Literature
This section will have a variety of assessment items including
Multiple Choice Questions, Objective Type Questions, Short
Answer Type Questions and Long Answer Type Questions to
assess comprehension, analysis, interpretation and extrapolation
beyond the text.

integrated project work as subject enrichment activity for

summer break and the plan has to be ready for execution as
soon as the students come back to school.
Midterm Assessment

1. Writing a Formal Letter based on a given situation, in 100-120
words. One out of two questions is to be answered.
2. Writing an Analytical Paragraph in 100-120 words on a given
Map/Chart/Graph/Cue/s. One out of two questions is to be
answered.

DISCIPLINE
Discipline significantly impacts career shaping and helps build character,
sincerity, self- control, perseverance, good behaviour and values. The
concept of discipline should not be confused with strict authoritarian
environment. Students are given freedom to share their doubts and
ideas with teachers regarding class work. Constitutional and universal
values are encouraged amongst students. Hygiene, sanitation,
dedication, honesty, truthfulness, kindness, empathy respect for the
environment, elders and all living things etc. are the values that our
students are encouraged to practice. Parents may also support the
school in cultivating disciplined behaviour in their wards. The Class
