1) ME on bridge control. ME RPM & load on engine within limits.
2) ME all parameters, pressures and temperatures normal
3) Both ME auxillary blowers are on "auto"
4) Main switch board has correct frequency and voltage
5) The standby generators are in "auto start" mode
6) All electrical motors indicate normal running loads and no earth fault indication exists on main switch
board.
7) The remote boiler water level matches with the local gauge glass level
8) Control room A/C checked for correct operation/ electrical appliances if any, switched off
9) At least one air compressor in "auto start" mode
10) Ensure all ER supply fans in running mode
11) Bilge high level alarm is not in the alarm condition.
12) No alarm on NABCO governor panel or equivalent
13) Ensure with bridge that the fire alarm panel power is on and confirm that no alarm condition exists &
no zones isolated
14) Check air valves to QC valves, foam alarms & air horn are locked open
15) All machinery parameters in CPU display are normal, no alarms bypassed
16) CPU alarm printer is "on" & sufficient printer paper is available
17) Check emergency generator is on "standby-auto"mode
18) All alternate SW/FW/LO/FO pumps are lined up & are in stand-by mode.
19) No fuel oil / LO / water leakage anywhere in engine room, bilges checked.
20) All cylinder lubricators are working satisfactory
21) ME crankcase oil mist detector in satisfactory working condition
22) MGPS system operating satisfactory (if fitted)
23) Fire & GS pump is lined up for fire line
24) Stern tube tank oil level, LO pressure/temp & aft seal pot oil level is normal
25) Check air cooler air & SW side temperatures are normal
26) Oil levels in Main engine/Aux. Engine sumps, Cyl.oil daily tank, Turbochargers, Fridge and AC comp.

27) CAPAC system operational (if fitted)
28) ME LO filters : check pressure drop / backflush if required
29) Aux. Engine LO overflow tank level is normal
30) Check pressure drop across ME air cooler
31) FW genrator: Check proper working, dosing pumps, alarms, salinity indicator are "on"
32) Aux. Engine : check all parameters of running generator are normal
33) Stand-by aux .engine : Lined up for auto starting & fuel racks are free.
34) Boiler water circulating pump operating normal.
35) FW hydrophore operating normal
36) All garbage/ oily rags are put in bin and is covered
37) No inflammable/corrosive liquids left uncovered and unsecured.
38) Main air compressor parameters & operation normal
39) Stand-by air reservoir is pressed up
40) ME T/C : Exhaust temp , LO temp, LO flow and pressure drop across filter normal
41) Fuel oil & diesel oil serv tanks are topped up. Fuel oil transfer pump is NOT on auto, Unless technically
not feasible.
42) ME & A/E FO backwash filters: check pressure drop & backwash if required
43) Check FO & LO purifiers parameters & operation is normal
44) Boiler gauge glass operating satisfactory & water level is normal
45) Boiler steam pressure & steam pressure line is normal
46) Steering gear : LO levels is normal. No LO leakages. Check normal operation
47) Emergency fire pump is lined up and is available for remote operation
48) Jacket water expansion tank water level is normal
49) Economizer : Exhaust temp & pressure drop across is normal. No leakages
50) Carry out soot blow of economizer exhaust side
51) ER workshop : Welding equip. Is put out of use. Welding gas valves shut.
52) Check drain cooler parameters & dump valve for normal operation
53) Cascade tank FW filling valve in auto mode & no oil traces sighted.
54) Check control air compr./drier in order

55) Check sewage plant for satisfactory operation
56) E/R crane & all loose gear secured
57) No abormal noise or vibrations in any machinery and pipings specially fuel pipes
58) Check intermediate shaft bearings oil level & leaks
59) All E/room double bottom tanks sounded and recorded.
60) Funnel smoke checked and found normal
61) All watertight compartments & doors confirmed closed and sealed.
62) Chief engneers log book filled with all parameters and are within limits
63) UMS checklist complied, control changed over to w/h, informed duty officer
64) The alarm printers and the automation system are displaying the correct time and date.
65) Bilge alarm. An alarm which indicates an abnormally high level of bilge water.
