● We REPORT

● 10 June, 2024
● Committee: United Nations Human Rights Council
● Agenda: Protecting Human Rights in the Context of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
● Member States: the State of Israel, Federal Republic of Germany, The Republic of
Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Republic Of Lebanon, Kingdom Of Bahrain, French
Republic, Libya, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Hashemite Kingdom of
Jordan, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Somalia
● The Council started with the member states sessions giving their opening statements.
Then, we had our first moderated caucus on “Deliberation on the protection of civilians
from aggression by non-state actors in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict," then we
continued with the formal debate and later had our second moderated caucus on the topic
“Deliberation on the impact of the refugee crisis and addressing humanitarian needs
arising from the Israel-Palestine conflict,” and the third moderated caucus on
“Deliberation upon solutions for the Israel-Palestine conflict with special emphasis on
discussing previously failed resolutions and agreements..” Amidst these discussions, we
had several unmoderated discussions, and we were able to discuss these productive
solutions.
● The Solutions That The Committee Has Agreed Upon Are:-
● The most essential and immediate solution would be a ceasefire.
● A fair solution for refugees as per UNGA Resolution 194.
● Demands the end of Israeli occupation of Palestine following UNSC Resolution 242.
● Initiate the development of areas that had been destroyed in the Conflict. Collect funds and invest
in infrastructural development, construction of new hospitals and other areas that come under
Health and well-being, and development of education initiatives for the internally displaced
individuals.
● Release all hostages from both sides as supported by Article 34 of the 4th Geneva Convention
1949. No exceptions remain.
● A single technocratic government over all of Palestine temporarily until stability has been
assured, after which an elected government should be appointed.
● Jerusalem to be changed to a international city and no military should be allowed near it in
accordance with the United Nations Resolution 181
● Support and expand grassroot peace initiatives that affirm dialogue and understanding between
Israelis and Palestinians, such as joint educational programs and social community projects.
● Mutual Recognition: Both nations have to come to terms with each other and realize that no
country or notion will suddenly cease to exist even after the complete destruction of Palestine
which will only lead to growing detestation and suffering of innocent civilians.
● Education and Reconciliation: The Gazan children have a bleak future that can be transformed
through access to quality education and reconciliation efforts. Make active efforts towards
providing education to all children of Gaza.
● Psychological Aid: It involves humane supportive and prac usetical help to fellow refugees after
suffering from serious after effects of the dire situation and mitigate the transfer of derangement
to the next generation.
● Human Right Monitoring: Creation of a separate body to provide regular and precise reports
about the humanitarian conditions of Gaza.
