The Tale of the Golden Snail

Once upon a time, in a small village near the sea, there lived a poor widow and her only
daughter, Keong Mas. They lived a simple life, but they were happy and content with what they
had. Every day, Keong Mas would go to the forest to gather firewood and collect fruits to sell at the
market.

One day, while she was walking along the shore, Keong Mas found a beautiful golden
snail stuck in the sand. The snail was unlike any other she had ever seen; it shimmered in the
sunlight and looked magical. Feeling sorry for the snail, she picked it up and took it home with her.

From that day on, strange and wonderful things began to happen. Whenever Keong Mas
and her mother returned from the forest, they found their small house clean and tidy, with delicious
meals prepared for them. They were puzzled, but grateful for the mysterious help.

One day, Keong Mas decided to find out who was behind these good deeds. She
pretended to go to the forest as usual but secretly returned home and hid in the corner of the
kitchen. To her amazement, she saw the golden snail transform into a beautiful fairy. The fairy
waved her wand, and in an instant, the house was cleaned, and food appeared on the table.

Keong Mas stepped out of her hiding place and thanked the fairy for her kindness. The
fairy smiled and explained that she had been sent to help Keong Mas because of her pure heart
and generosity. The fairy then offered to grant Keong Mas a wish.
Without hesitation, Keong Mas wished for her mother to be healthy and for them to have
enough to live comfortably. The fairy granted her wish, and from that day on, Keong Mas and her
mother lived happily, with plenty of food and a warm home.

The fairy left them but promised to always watch over them. Keong Mas never forgot the
fairy’s kindness and continued to help those in need, knowing that true happiness comes from a
