Mumbai Airport Funnel Zone

The Mumbai Airport Funnel Zone is an airspace area around Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport designed for aviation safety, imposing height restrictions on buildings within a 20km radius. It affects nearly 50% of suburban Mumbai and includes specific areas like Vile Parle and Andheri, with over 6,000 buildings impacted by redevelopment restrictions. Proposed amendments to the Development Control and Promotion Regulation aim to facilitate redevelopment of older buildings while adhering to height limitations and requiring municipal approval for projects.
