INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION

1. Owing to the nature of this three-hour examination, it is important to note that you will
NOT be permitted to leave the examination room before the end of the examination
period.

2. Insert your name and surname in the header of every document that you create or
save.

3. The invigilator will give you a disk containing ALL the files needed for the examination
or you will be told where the files can be found on the network. If a disk has been
issued to you, you must write your name on the label.

4. A copy of the master files will be available from the invigilator. Should you accidentally
corrupt the files given to you, you may request further copies from the invigilator.

5. Make sure that you save each document using the given file names. Save your work
at regular intervals, as a precaution against possible power failures.

6. Read through EACH question carefully before answering or solving the problem. Do
NOT do more than required for the question.

7. At the end of the examination, you must hand in the disk given to you by the invigilator
or make sure that ALL the files have been saved on the network as explained to you
by the invigilator/teacher. Ensure that ALL files can be read.

8. During the examination, you may make use of the help functions of the programs which
you are using. You may NOT use any other resource material.

9. Note that if data is derived from a previous question, that you cannot answer, you
should still proceed with the questions that follow.

10. For ALL questions revolving around word processing, the language should be set to
English (South African) and the paper size is assumed to be A4 portrait, unless
otherwise instructed.

The DATA folder that you receive with this question paper will contain the
files listed below. Ensure that you have ALL the files before you begin with
this exam.

SCENARIO

Your classmates played a traditional game called KUBB with students from Sweden
during an exchange project. A decision was made to introduce the game to the rest of the
grade with a big competition.

QUESTION 1: WORD PROCESSING

CAT learners were asked to format to document that would give more information about the
KUBB game. Open 1Rules document and format as follows.

1.1 Change the paper size to A4. (1)

1.2 Change font size of the whole document to 14 pt. (1)

1.3 Place a 3 pt double line page border on the first page only. (3)

1.4 Add a date in the header on the right that will update automatically. (2)

1.5 Change the margins as follows:


Top and Bottom: 2 cm
Left and Right: 2.5 cm (2)

1.6 Double underline the heading. (1)

1.7 Change the heading “Equipment, Preparation and Terminology”
(yellow highlight) to Italics. (1)

1.8 The list that begins with 10 x 8 m and ends with (26 x 16 feet) must change to a
bullet. Choose a black square by using Wingdings, character code 167.

1.9 Delete the text 6 x 3 m (20 x 10 feet) and make sure that the paragraph
spacing is correct. (light gray highlight) (1)

1.10 Number the paragraphs under the heading To Begin that starts with 'Sticks
must’ and ends with ... 'closest to the opponent’s side'. Use the numbering
option of A. B. (purple highlight)

1.11 Check if the document has any spelling errors and correct it. Do not correct
any grammar errors. (2)

1.12 The four headings that start with Phase .... must be formatted with the
Heading 1 style. (2)

1.13 Add a page break before the heading Winning. (1)

1.14 Format the heading ‘Variants’ (highlighted in grey) to look the same as the
heading ‘Winning’. (1)

1.15 Change the five paragraphs under the heading Variants that starts with 'The following....'
and ends with '....games takes longer.' with paragraph spacing
4pt before and after. (red highlight) (1)

1.16 Add a Drop Cap to the second paragraph 'Some rules' under the heading
Variants. The Drop Cap must stretch over 2 lines. (2)

1.17 Format the text 'overly' by placing a line through it. (green highlight) (1)

1.18 Add the picture 1PlayKubb to the bottom of the document. Resize the picture
to a height of 15 cm. Centre the picture. (3)

2 QUESTION 2: WORD PROCESSING

Open the 2Comparison word processing document and format as indicated below:

2.1. Remove the second column from the right i.e. 'Monthly price'. (1)
2.2. Insert an extra column to the left of the table and format it to look like the (6)
example above:

• Merge these cells in the first column


• Move the text 'High end mobile data packages' to the first column and format to
Small caps
• Change the text direction
• Fill this column as well as the first row with a light colour of your choice

2.3. Complete the first row so that it appears as in the example. (4)
Note the following:
• Change the height of the first row to exactly 1.5 cm
• The words must be centered both vertically and horizontally
• Ensure that this row will appear on the top of the table if the table goes onto the next
page.

2.4. Remove the left- and right-hand borders of the table as shown in the (1)
example.

2.5. Change the top and the bottom border of the table to a double line border in blue and

in 2¼ pt. The borders inside the table must change to broken lines in red. (6)

2.6. Add a formula in the bottom right-hand cell to calculate the average price per GB.

Ensure that 2 decimals will display. (2)

2.7. Ensure that the table fit on the entire page. (1)

2.8. Save the document as a PDF document with the name 2DataPrices. (2)

QUESTION 3 SPREADSHEET

Open the 3DataStats spreadsheet. Work in the Prices worksheet.

3.1. Make the following changes:

• Merge cells A1:H1


• Fill these cells with a 25% gray pattern
• Change the row height of row 1 to exactly 20
• Center the heading horizontally and vertically
• Add a double line border around the heading (6)

3.2. Change the heading in cell G2 to look like the rest of the headings in row 2. (3)

3.3. Ensure that all the text in column A is visible. (1)

3.4. Unhide column F. (1)

3.5. Format all amounts in the worksheet to be in US dollars, with 2 decimals,


column H excluded. (2)

3.6. The exchange rate for US dollars is given in cell J1. Insert a formula in

cell H3 to calculate the price of data for Q2 – 2017 in South African rand. (3)

3.7. Insert a function in cell E10 to determine the highest price paid for data in 2016. (2)

3.8. Insert a function in cell E12 to determine average price paid for data in South
African rand. (2)

Open the Market worksheet.

3.9. Add borders to cells A1:H6. Thin borders inside and a thicker outside border. (2)
3.10. Create a suitable chart to indicate the market that each service provider obtained
during 2014.
Take note of the following:
• The title of the chart must be 'Market Share 2014'
• Add data labels to show the percentage that each service provider obtained of the
market
• Move the chart to a new worksheet named 'Graph'
• Add the file name to the footer of the Graph worksheet. The name must update
automatically (for example if the spreadsheet is renamed). (8)

QUESTION 4 SPREADSHEET

As part of the research, you were asked to analyse the data usage of learners.

Open the 4Usage spreadsheet document. Work in the Info worksheet.

4.1 Insert a column to the left of column A. Use auto fill to add numbers to this
column. (2)

4.2 Theo Malan's cell phone number, 072 659 0456, was not entered. Enter his cell
phone number in cell F4. (2)

4.3 Use a function in cell C34 to determine how many learners are male. (3)

4.4 Add a function to cell D36 to determine how many learners do not have a
contract. (2)

4.5 Use a function in cell D38 to determine which is the most popular amount of
data used per month. (2)

4.6 One learner will receive a voucher worth 10 GB of data. Insert a function in cell D40
that will generate a lucky number from among all the numbers listed in column A. (2)

4.7 The Summary worksheet contains the number of learners per grade.

Use a function in cell B4 to determine how many learners are in grade 12. (3)

4.8 Work in Sheet2. Sort the data in the sheet so that the service provider with the
most learners appear on top. (2)

4.9 Rename Sheet2 to 'Providers' and change the tab colour to green. (2)

QUESTION 5: WEB DESIGN (HTML)

You are required to finalise the web page created to provide information on 'Water shortages in
Cape Town'.

Open the incomplete 5CapeTown web page in your web browser and also in a text editor.

NOTE:
• Question numbers are inserted as comments in the coding as guidelines to show approximately
where the answer(s) should be inserted.
• An HTML tag sheet has been attached for reference.

Your final web page should look like the example below.

5.1. Add HTML code that will display the title 'Cape Town water crisis' in the tab and/or title bar
of your browser, as in the following screenshot: (2)

5.2. Add a level 1 heading at the top of the body section of the page, just above the first
paragraph, that will contain the text 'The water crisis in Cape Town
worsened'. (1)

5.3. Add a tag to draw a horizontal line across the page, immediately after the
