1. Summary
In case that a fire happens, in order to promptly extinguish the fire in time and reduce the losses of lives and
properties, Our company has configured two types of fire-fighting devices pursuant to National Standards
GA468-2004 requirement – portable-type fire extinguisher and automatic fire extinguisher.
At present, our vehicles have been respectively configured with one portable-type dry powder fire
extinguisher of 2Kg generally.
For buses with height more than 10 meters, install engine compartment automatic fire extinguisher as
standard configuration; for other types, take option.
2. Portable-type Fire Extinguisher
2.1 Product Introduction
MFZ/BC,MFZ/ABC series dry powder fire extinguishers our company use are manufactured pursuant to
GB4351-2005 standard. The bodies are processed with high quality carbon steel by special process.Such
series fire extinguishers have features of simple structure, flexible operation, wide application, easy use,
low price and so on, and are applied widely in various fields. Those with weight of 1kg or 2kg are especially
applicable to family and various automobiles.
2.2 Structure and Component of Fire Extinguisher
Such fire extinguisher is mainly composed of body, head valve, jet tube (nozzle) and so on. Fire
extinguishing agent is Sodium Bicarbonate (ABC-type is Ammonium Phosphate). Driving gas is Nitrogen.

Carry the fire extinguisher to fire site, pull out the safety pin, hold on the jet tube, press the pressing handle
and spray to extinguish the fire with aiming at base of the fire; Loosing the handle can cease jet, thus to
realize clearance jet.
2.7 Maintenance
1. Temperature for storage: -10℃~+45℃; Can not be exposed to sunshine, close to fire sources or
vibrated violently.
2. The fire extinguisher shall be placed securely in dry places with good ventilation.
3. Frequently check whether the safety pin and lead sealing are fine, the pressure value meets the
requirements and spare parts are loosed, deformed, rusty or damaged。
4. Check every two years or before refilling whether the head valve, jet tube of the fire extinguisher is
damaged after it has been used for 5 years and whether the body is rusty; Carry out 2.6MPa Hydraulic test.
The rejected shall be scrapped.
5. Do not fully disassemble the tip if fire extinguisher has pressure inside. Assemble after decompression,
otherwise personal safety will be threatened.
6. Maintenance of fire extinguishers must be carried out strictly according to GA95-95 “Maintenance and
Scrappage of Fire Extinguisher”.
7. Spare parts required for maintenance of fire extinguisher must adopt qualified spare parts supplied by our
company. Specifications, varieties and filling quantity of extinguishing agent refilled inside must also accord
with those of our company, otherwise not to guarantee the fire-fighting performance of the fire extinguisher.
8. Examine the following items of fire extinguisher in maintenance:
a. Check the production date of the fire extinguisher body. It must be scrapped when reaching the
scrappage period listed in Table 1.
b. Appearance: The appearance shall not be rusty. The protective coating shall be complete without falling
off. In case that rusty area exceeds one third, the fire extinguisher shall be scrapped, otherwise shall be
repaired; If the body is badly deformed, the fire extinguisher shall be scrapped; Tip, jet tube, nozzle of the
fire extinguisher shall not has defects such as deformation, crack and so on, otherwise replace them;
Pressure indicator of the fire extinguisher shall not be deformed and the indicating pressure shall be normal.
c. Carry out Hydraulic test of body and tip of the fire extinguisher according to pressure value and holding
time regulated in Table 2. If leakage and macroscopic deformation are found in the test (remaining
deformation ratio is not less than 6%), the fire extinguisher shall be scrapped.
d. Tightness test: Dip the body into the water for 10 minutes. In case that leakage air bubbles are visible, the
fire extinguisher shall be scrapped.
9. All the used seals of the fire extinguisher for maintenance must be replaced.
10. Filling pressure of the driving gas must meet the regulations in Table 2. Pressure indicator of the fire
extinguisher when filling can not be taken as measurement pressure of filling pressure. Must use pressure
gauge with precision not lower than Level 1.6 for measurement; Must use decompression valve as for filling
with the compressed gas cylinders.
11. Maintenance and refilling of the fire extinguisher shall be taken by the qualified and professional fire
maintenance department. The user shall not disassemble & assemble or repair without authorization;

3. Confirm that no one is in the room and close the door. Press the two switches on the fire-fighting
button until the fire-fighting device is started. In case that the fire-fighting device is not started,
dispose according to Article 4;
4. In case that fire-fighting device is badly damaged or corroded, pressing the fire-fighting button may
not start the fire-fighting device. Such fire-fighting device can be disposed according to the first
method (fire-fighting device only with automatic starting method). In case that it is not started still,
dispose the fire-fighting device as the general waste.
4.2 Scrap disposal of fire-fighting devices started with no power supply
1. Disassemble the fire-fighting device and its connection with the original position. Respectively store
and dispose the fire-fighting device and thermal line;
2. In a spacious room, install the fire-fighting device firmly at a position. If condition permit, install at
most 5-8 fire-fighting devices at one time. Connect the fire-fighting device by thermal line and
extend the thermal line outside (not too long). Open holes on the wall where the fire-fighting devices
are installed, thus to let the thermal line out; Adopt touching connection of fire-fighting device and
thermal line. Connection length is not less than 50mm and extends into the glass filament tube.
Connection part is packed firmly outside the glass filament tube, not less than 2 rounds.
3. Confirm that no one is in the room and close the door. Ignite the thermal line outside the room.
Until the fire-fighting devices are all started and dry powder is settled, condition in the room can be
clearly seen. Confirm that no thermal line is burning. Dispose next batch fire-fighting devices after
safety is ensured;
