Removing the radiator

General

General
Applies to cab with low boarding step.

Work description
1. Dismantle recirculation shield above the radiator. The location of the screws is
shown in the illustration.
2. Remove the two sections of the shield from the engine compartment.
3. Tilt the cab. Secure with cab strut.
4. Drain the coolant.

5. Remove the clamps on the flexible charge air cooler hoses, see illustration.
6. Jack up the vehicle.
7. Remove the underrun protection beneath the vehicle.

8. Detach the coolant pipes on both sides of the fan. Drain the coolant remaining in
the cooling system.
9. Remove the fan.
10. Remove the fan cover.
11. Detach hydraulic motor bracket from the radiator. Tilt the bracket as far as pos-
sible.
12. Lower the vehicle.
13. Detach the expansion tank hose.

14. Remove screws (1) for the AC condenser.


15. Undo screws (2) and pull the brackets for the AC condenser to one side.
16. Remove the screws (3) for the oil cooler.
17. Undo the screws (4) on the side of the oil cooler.
18. Tie up the oil cooler and AC condenser together with the AC hoses.
19. Tilt up the cooling package.
20. Jack up the vehicle.

Removing the radiator
Work description

21. Remove the cooling package by undoing the screws on the oil cooler bracket as
illustrated, and then remove the cooling package from the underside of the vehi-
cle. Allow the cooling package to rest on a wooden pallet under the vehicle when
the screws are undone.

22. Dismantle the cooling package. The charge air cooler is attached to the coolant
radiator with 2 screws on each side.
