1.0 OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is to describe Qualification of Chemist
2.0 SCOPE:
This SOP is applicable to Qualification of Chemist.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES:
3.1 QC Chemist / Executive is responsible for safe Qualification of Chemist.
3.2 Head QC is responsible for Qualification of Chemist.
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:
Head - Quality Control
5.0 PROCEDURE:
5.1 New joiner should go through the induction program before coming to quality control
5.2 After induction training , he/she should go the through the SOP’s of the respective
department/section in coordination with training department
5.3 Once he/ she is familiar with the systems and operations ,he will be trained along with trained
chemist for analysis part as on the job training at the site
5.4 After on the job training, if the candidate is find suitable and competent to carryout the analysis
independently, then he will provided with a sample analyzed by trained chemist to carryout the
analysis independently.
5.5 Once the results are known , it will be compared with trained analyst and the relative
standard deviation is within 2.0%, he/ she will be qualified to carryout the analysis
independently, if not they should be retrained and qualified again .
6.0 TRAINING:

Trainer - Head Quality Control

Trainees- Chemist / Executive QC and Lab Workman

7.0 DISTRIBUTION:
