COMMON CONTROLLED TESTS FOR JUNE 2025 AND DISTRICT TIME TABLE
FOR GRADE 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9.
1. The district has made a courage to continue with the Common Tasks and
Common Controlled Tests in an effort to standardize assessment across the
district in line with District Subject Improvement Plans for 2025.
2. The District Curriculum Section has been in constant conversation with schools
and subject teachers in particular to implement strategies to improve the quality
of learner assessment tests. As means to achieve the above objective, the
district:

In addition, to bring about valid means and efforts to do profound learner
performance analysis for informed decision towards developing subject
improvement plans common controlled tests are necessary.

3. It is therefore acknowledged that the mid-year/June controlled tests are in
accordance with Assessment Instruction 04 of 2023 and Annual Teaching Plans
of 2023/24. Noting that for 2025 we are using 2023/24 ATPs.
4. The district will provide time-table to administer the controlled tests for Grades
3,4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 and schools are expected to use such timetable.
5. The educational imperative of common assessment cannot be achieved if
schools are not benchmarked through standardized assessment tools, being
controlled tests.
6. To ensure consistency with performance measure: analysis and tracking of
performance, that the district is writing common controlled tests in Grades 4, 5
6, 7 and 9.
7. Please find the attached timetables for grades 3,4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 scheduled
from 05 June 2025 to 13 June 2025 and the papers will be issued on the 2 –
3 June 2025 to Principals (or delegated official in writing) at least 2 days
before the paper is administered.
8. It is implored that school Principals should ensure strict control of the papers to
maintain the integrity of Assessment and to eliminate possibilities of leaks and
unfairness.

Programme of Assessment. Pre and Post moderation must be done at school level.
All schools are expected to administer controlled tests for the above grades (4,5, 6, 7
and 9) according to the given timetable.
