Online Faculty Development Programmes (FDP)
Scheme Document for the Academic Year 2025-26
1.1 Preface
(a) Main objective of AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy is to plan
and help in imparting quality technical education in the country and to
support technical institutions in fostering research, innovation and
entrepreneurship through training in various emerging areas.
1.2 About online FDPs
(a) In a world characterized by rapid change, complexity, and uncertainty, the
skills of the past are no longer sufficient for today or tomorrow. Covid 19
has brought in revolution in thinking, formulating, shaping, discussing
and executing the ideas in a much closer environment through the digital
world. Adapting to the pace and adjusting to the needs of the academia,
the Council has decided to offer FDPs in online mode through the ATAL
Academy for Financial Year 2025-26 in addition to the offline FDPs already
announced. The popularity and widespread acceptance received for the
online FDPs during the COVID period is also a catalyst for this decision.
1.3 Eligibility
(a) For Institutions *
(i) AICTE Approved institutions
(ii) Centrally Funded Technical Institutions like IITs, IIMs, NITs, IIITs,
Central Universities, State Technical Universities, Private and Deemed
to be Universities conducting technical programmes.
(iii) Reputed pioneer organizations / Industries in the field
* Institutions granted continuously for two Academic years would not be
considered for third year and would be considered again only for 4th year.
(b) For Coordinator & Co-Coordinator *
(i) Coordinator must be a full time regular faculty & having 10 Years of
Teaching / Research / Industry experience and knowledge and
experience to conduct online FDP through any available software.
(ii) Co-Coordinator should be a full time regular faculty with at least 5 years
of Teaching / Research / Industry experience
* Coordinators if granted FDP in the previous academic year (AY) would not
be considered for grant of FDP in the current AY.
(c) For Participants
(i) The faculty members, Research scholars & PG Scholars of the AICTE
approved institutions and Industry Personnel
(ii) Not more than 20% from Host Institution. For North Eastern and
Jammu Kashmir & Laddakh Region 30% participation from host
institute is allowed.
(iii) Minimum 100 participants should be ensured for conduct of the FDP
ATAL FDPs are completely free for participants.
(d) For Experts
(i) Minimum 50% experts from industry. At least 02 overseas experts.
(ii) Experts should have minimum 10 Years’ domain expertise.
(iii) Maximum two sessions can be handled by an expert
1.4 Duration of FDP
The proposed/approved FDP shall be conducted within financial year
from the date of receipt of offer letter. The Duration of the online FDP shall
be 06 days.
1.5 Limit of funding
(a) Rs. 1,00,000/- (One Lakh only) for six days FDP
1.6 Disbursement of the Grant in Aid
(a) The full amount of the grant sanctioned will be released as reimbursement
to the University/Institute through electronic transfer in the account of
the University/Institute.
1.7 Release of Funds and Maintenance of Accounts
(a) The cost for conducting per programme will be Rs. 1,00,000/- as per detail
given as under :
1 Honorarium to Coordinator Rs.8,000/-
2 Honorarium to Co-coordinator Rs.5,000/-
3 Honorarium for computer operator Rs.2,000/-
4 Honorarium for experts Rs.55,000/-
(Rs.5000/ session for 11 sessions)
5 Honorarium for overseas experts Rs.20,000/-
(Rs.10000/ session for 02 sessions)
6 Miscellaneous charges (petty expenses, recording etc Rs.10,000/-
which is not covered above)
TOTAL = Rs.1,00,000/-
(b) The grant is subject to the adjustment on the basis of submission of bank
mandate form, audited Utilization Certificate and Statement of
Expenditure, Programme Completion Report with recorded sessions
and Feedback from the participants.

(b) Coordinator may use any available software (Samvaad, Google
Meet/WebEx/MS Team/ Go to Webinar etc.) for smooth conduction of
online FDP, also he/she may explore any other available software.

1.10 Processing Methodology:
(a) The proposal shall be assessed by an Expert Committee.
1.11 Submission of documents by University/Institution
(a) The coordinator of the FDP requires to submit the receipt of the following
documents through portal.
(i) Utilization Certificate& Statement of Expenditure
(ii) Program completion report along with photographs, media report
(iii) Bank Mandate form
(iv) Link of recorded FDP video and link of video of some participant’s
feedback after uploading it on YouTube.
(v) Compulsory Online Feed-back from all the participants
(vi) List of the candidates who have successfully completed the program
on the basis of the online test conducted by program coordinator.
(vii) LOGO of the institutions (JPEG/JPG/PNG. format)
(viii) Scanned Signature of the coordinator (black in color) with white
background.
(b) The University/Institution/Program Coordinator should submit bank
mandate form, audited Utilization Certificate and Statement of
Expenditure, Programme Completion Report in original to AICTE Hqrs.
within 15 days to:

1.12 Test and Certificate
(a) A test shall be conducted (online) by coordinator at the end of the program.
(b) The Question Bank with answers must be shared along with the report by
the coordinator.
(c) The certificates shall be issued to those participants who are registered on
ATAL portal www.aicte-india.org/atal and attend the program with
minimum 80% attendance and score minimum 70% marks in the test.
(d) Feedback must be shared by participants through portal available on their
login.
1.13 Collaboration
Institute may offer online training programme in collaboration with other
organization /Institution/Industry/Individual which have expertise in that
area
1.14 Terms and conditions
For conducting a FDP following is essential:
(a) Coordinator is the overall responsible for document submission and
smooth coordination of ATAL FDP.
(b) The online sessions are to be recorded as the facility is available on the
software which is being used for online delivery of FDP. Coordinators will
upload the recording of sessions on you tube and will share link on portal
which will be published on ATAL webpage.
(c) Funds once released/sanctioned for organizing the particular topic/ area
of FDP cannot be utilized for any other programme.
(e) Any unavoidable circumstantial change in the Program with respect to
name of Project Coordinator, Venue and date for organizing AICTE Training
and Learning (ATAL) Programme would mandatorily require prior approval
of the Council. All such requests should be addressed to ATAL Academy,
in advance, recording the specific reasons for proposed changes, failing
which the offer for the grant already issued would be treated as
automatically withdrawn.
(f) Any extra money required to complete the programme must be borne by
the institute from their own resources but the quality of the activities
should not be compromised.
