🦁 The Lion and the Cat 🐱
– A Story of Gratitude and Ego –
Long ago, in a jungle far away, there lived a mighty lion, feared and respected by all animals. One day,
while chasing a deer, the lion tripped and twisted his paw. The pain was sharp, and he couldn’t walk
properly.
As the lion lay under a tree, frustrated and hungry, a small cat passed by.
“Are you okay?” asked the cat, gently.
The lion growled, “Do I look okay to you?”
The cat didn't take offense. She walked closer, examined his paw, and said,
“You have a thorn stuck deep. Let me help.”
With patience and care, the cat slowly removed the thorn using her tiny claws. The lion winced but
stayed still. Finally, the pain was gone.
“Thank you,” the lion said, surprised by the kindness of such a small creature.
The cat smiled and replied, “Sometimes, gentle paws heal better than mighty claws.”
From that day, the lion and the cat became friends. The cat would visit often, and they’d talk about
the jungle, life, and their very different worlds.
But over time, the lion's pride returned. One day, in front of other animals, he mocked the cat:
“Look at my friend! So small, so weak! I could crush her with one paw!”
The cat looked at the lion, hurt but calm, and said,
“You may be mighty, but strength without respect becomes weakness.”
And with that, the cat walked away.
Soon, the lion got trapped in a hunter’s cage. He roared and struggled, but no one dared to help.
The cat heard his cry from far away. She remembered his pride, but also his pain. Quietly, she
sneaked into the camp, chewed through the rope lock, and freed the lion.
The lion looked at her with tears in his eyes and said,
“I was wrong. The smallest hearts often carry the biggest courage.”
Moral of the Story:
Never underestimate the power of kindness, and never let pride destroy your friendships.
