the working device and the bottom of the bucket
must be kept 40 to 50cm above the ground.
• When moving on the rough ground, move
slowly and do not turn suddenly to avoid roll-
over. If the working device touches the ground,
the machine may lose balance and be damaged.
• When moving on the rough ground or the
abrupt slope, turn off (cancel) the automatic
speed reducing switch, if the machine is
equipped with the automatic speed reducing de-
vice. If the automatic deceleration switch is
turned on, the rotational rate will increase and
the moving speed will accelerate suddenly.
• Avoid moving on the obstacle as far as possible.
If the machine has to move on the barrier, make
the working device close to the ground and
move slowly.

the cab shall pay attention to learning about machine’s character in advance and follow the order of com-
mand staff.
TOPS: rollover protective mechanism
Do as the following requirements to prevent tipping or sliding of the machine.

Safety 1-21
XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

• When the machine moves on the slope, the bot-

tom of the bucket is 20 to 30 cm (8 to 12 in)
from the ground. In an emergency, the working
device can rapidly drop down to stop the
machine.
• When the machine moves upslope, the driving
cab is adjusted to the direction of the upslope.
When the machine moves on the slop down-
wards, the hardness of the ground surface in
front of the machine must be examined. When
the machine moves on the slop downwards, the
hardness of the ground surface in front of the
machine must be examined.
• When the machine moves on the abrupt slope,
the working device extends towards the front
direction to maintain the balance, and the oper-
ating equipments keep the distance of 20 to 30
cm (8 to 12 in) from the ground, and keep at a
low speed.Low speed propelling
• When the machine moves on the slop down-
wards, the moving operating lever is maintained
at the middle position, and the machine moves
at low speed.

1-22 Safety
XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

• The machine directly moves on the slop upward

and downwards, because it is very dangerous to
make a turn or traverse on the slop.

• Do not make a turn and transverse on the slop.

The machine should change the position of the
machine at the flat area, and then, go up to the
slope.
• Because the slipping of the machine on the slop
of a small degree is dangerous, the machine
should drive on the slop at low speed.
• If the engine stalls when the machine is moving
on the slop, the operating lever must be shifted
to the middle position to start the engine.

Operation on the Slope

• When the machine operates on the slope, and

the revolution or working device is operated,
the machine will lost balance and incline. so as
to cause the serious damage or equipment
breakdown. Therefore, when these operations
are carried out, a small flat area needs to be pro-
vided, and the operation needs to be carried out
carefully.
• Do not make the working device turn from the
side of the upslope to the side of the down slope
when the bucket is fully filled. The operation of
making the working device turn will make the
machine roll-over.
• If the machine must be used on the slope, a plat-
form must be piled up to maintain the balance
of the machine.

Forbidden Operation

Safety 1-23
XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

surface. If insufficient, reinforce first. If you
suspect whether its strength is enough, never work
on it.
4 During digging operations in certain conditions,
the boom, bucket stick or bucket may contact
upper part or lower part of the machine itself.
5 Do not allow a hydraulic cylinder to extend
completely in succession, because the cylinder
telescoping fully will cause machine damage. For
example, when the stick cylinder is completely
retracted while the bucket cylinder extends to
enable digging operation.
6 When the bucket is resisted on ground, do not
travel or swing. Do not attempt to move stones
and crack up walls using swing actions; otherwise,
serious machine damage will result.

as possible and could not sink into earth too
deeply; otherwise, it can not be towed out.
3 In case of travel difficult, lower the bucket to
ground, retract the front device, and then pull out
the machine using hoist.

When jacking up the excavator using the front working device, take care to prevent the machine
from tilting to one side.

Operation 3-23
XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

4 In case mud or gravel enters into the track, which leads the machine to stop, it’s necessary to clean
the mud within the area of truck frame.
5 Rotate upper brace for 90 and descend the bucket to raise the track above the ground. Ensure to
keep the angle between movable arm and bucket rod at 90 –100 and place the bucket bottom on the
ground.
6 Raise unilateral track and enable the track raised to clean its soil and dust by rotating forward and
backward.
7 Lower engine speed and travel speed, and move the machine to solid ground carefully.
8 When the machine is blocked but can still start its engine, rope can be used to tow the machine in case
the pavement is good. Install and connect wire rope correctly. See pages 2 to 28 for “traction
procedure”.

C. Excavation Operation

3-24 Operation
XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

1 Place bucket teeth on the ground with the angle

between bucket bottom and ground of 45 .
2 The bucket rod or the bucket rod as major
excavation power, shall collect bucket to machine
direction.
3 When soil blocks bucket, rapidly move bucket
rod or bucket forward and backward to get rid of
soil.
4 When lowering the movable arm, avoid sudden
stop, since such motion will cause impact load,
which may damage the machine.
5 Operation of movable arm shall prevent
hydraulic cylinder from descending to the bottom
to avoid the damage of hydraulic cylinder.
6 Excavation off a certain angle shall prevent
bucket excavation striking the track.
7 Deep excavation shall prevent movable arm and
bucket hosepipe striking the ground.
8 In case of excavating straight groove, place the
track and groove in parallel. After excavating to
the intended depth, if it’s necessary to excavate
further, please move the machine.

D. Working on flat ground

Do not use the bucket to level pavement frequently; otherwise, its components will damage the ma-
chine due to operation under overload. When traveling, do not allow to push or pull mud by
bucket.

In case of leveling the ground, roll back the bucket

forward slightly and place the bucket rod
straightly as shown in the figure.
Operate hypotrochoid of bucket rod when raising
movable arm slowly. Once the bucket rod
surpasses vertical position, descend the movable
arm slowly to make the bucket keep smooth
surface movement.
Use the dozer to fill road backward to level
pavement. Use the boom, arm and bucket jointly.

Operation 3-25
XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

• When leveling road from front to back, lift up the boom while moving the bucket stick slowly, and then
lower the boom smoothly to enable the bucket to move horizontally when the bucket stick is normal to
ground.
• Follow the reverse operating sequence in step 1 to level road from back to front.
• After building the pise (such as dam) similar to walls, comprehensive operation technology stated in
the 1st step shall be carried out.
E. Pay attention to track shoe

1. Deep excavation shall prevent oil cylinder of

the movable arm from striking track shoe.

2. Choose appropriate track shoe. Don’t use wide track shoe on rough ground with rocks, sands and
gravels. Wide track shoe is designed for soft ground. Using wide track shoe on rough ground will cause
the track shoe to be bent or loose, and damage its under frame assembly.
3. It’s a must to check screws of track shoe and tension of the track.

3.5 Parking the Excavator

Park the excavator on a firm and level road surface and do not park it on a slope. If you have to
park it on a ramp, fix crawlers with seat pads, and insert the bucket into ground. Look at the
picture

unavoidably trapped in slurry while the machine
can still be manipulated, use a mooring rope to
connect the machine with another one.
• Insert protective objects (e.g. wood blocks,
etc.) between the cords and the vehicle body to
prevent the cords from damage.
• 1. As shown in the figure, connect the drag
rope. To avoid the wire rope being damaged,
put some protective materials (e.g. wood
blocks, etc.) between the travel frame and the
wire rope.
• 2. Make sure that the wire rope has been
connected to the main travel frames on the two
machines.
• Use the other machine to drag your machine to
a firm ground.
Note:the track frame is equipped with a towing annular ring and one side of its support lug can drag an
object with the weight less than 3,000kg. In case the weight exceeds regulated range. Towing ring shall
not be used to drag the objects.
• Use appropriate U-type shackle to dismantle the
steel towrope to the shackle ring of the rack as
shown in the figure.
• Drag it slowly to keep the rope level and
parallel with the track.

3.7 Hydraulic Knapper

Installing a hydraulic knapper and its line without authorization from our company may cause
serious malfunction. This is beyond the warranty coverage of the excavator.

A. Selecting hydraulic knapper

3-28 Operation
XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

If you want to install a hydraulic knapper, take the stability of the equipment into account, and ensure that
this modification is appropriate. Also, proper pressure and flow should be allowed for. Then, you can con-
tact an agent to select an appropriate hydraulic knapper.
B. Hydraulic hoses and hard tubes of knapper
1. When installing the hydraulic knapper, do the job according to the drawings coming with the unit.
If you want to remove the knapper from the excavator, close hoses and hard tubes with plugs and covers
to prevent entry of foreign materials into the hydraulic system. Prevent impurities from entering the hy-
draulic system.
3. Close the knapper joints with covers and plugs to prevent entry of foreign materials.
4. Before start of operation, check all hydraulic joints for evidence of leakage or looseness.
C. Hydraulic knapper operations
Notice:Settings of hydraulic oil pressure and flow may require modifications.

1. Be sure to read and comprehend the owner's

manual of the knapper.
2. Check all mechanical and hydraulic
connections.

3. Do not use the knapper as a hammer. Do not

drop the knapper from a very high place The
knapper is comparatively heavy and drops fast, so,
do not drop the knapper from a very high place;
Otherwise, its top structure will be damaged.
When operating the knapper, do not extend the
boom or stick cylinder completely. A 50 mm or
larger clearance should be maintained between the
cylinder rod end and the cylinder end so as to
prevent the cylinder from damage when you
operate the knapper.

Operation 3-29
XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

5. If the cylinder hoses vibrate excessively, do not

use the knapper. Such as Fig. 78. Check the
hydraulic accumulator of the knapper for damage;
if needed, repair. If the excavator works in such
conditions, its structure and hydraulic package
may be damaged.

6. If related equipment is unavailable, working

underwater will not be allowed. When the knapper
body immerges into water, the knapper seals will
be damaged and become rusty so that the external
materials or water can enter the hydraulic system
to cause failure. Only head of the knapper can be
inserted into water.

7. Do not use the knapper to lift or haul any

object.

8. The knapper can work only when mounted at

front or tail of the excavator. Do not mount it at
left or right side for the purpose. When operating,
do not swing back and forth.

3-30 Operation
XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

If top body of the excavator is normal to the crawler, the knapper operation may cut service life of
the machine or result in machine rollover.

9. When walking or parking. During travel or

parking, do not retract the knapper to the bucket
stick or boom.

10. Do not use the knapper or bucket to move

crushed objects, especially, avoid moving using
turning power; otherwise, the boom, bucket stick
and knapper will be damaged.

D. Change periods of hydraulic oil and filter element

When using the hydraulic knapper, the hydraulic oil will be contaminated rapidly and its viscosity will
drop. because this operating condition is more severe than that during digging operation. Refer to the fol-
lowing table to change hydraulic oil and replace hydraulic oil filter element In order to prevent service life
cut of hydraulic parts due to composition changes of hydraulic oil (especially, main pump).

3.8 Operations in Special Conditions

Notice:seeFig. 4-51“Maintenances in special conditions”.
A. Operations in extremely cold conditions
If the machine works in extremely cold days, protective measures must be taken to ensure normal opera-
tion. The following detailed inspection can ensure normal operation of the machine at extremely low
temperature.
• Check if correct antifreeze is added in the cooling system at extremely low temperature. Check the cool-
ing system carefully and record status of leakage.
• Keep the battery fully charged to prevent freezing. If water has been added into the battery, run the en-
gine for at least 1 hour to enable the water mix with the electrolyte.
• Maintain the engine at optimum so that it is easy to start and operate the engine even in adverse weather
conditions.
• Select engine oil of proper specification according to temperature. Refer to “Lubrication and Specifi-
cations” in engine manual for details.
• Ensure that the fuel tank is full of fuel at any time. Before operation, drain condensate in the fuel tank.
Take out and service the fuel filter element, drain concretions (e.g. wax), and ensure that the solid point
of the fuel used is lower than the lowest ambient temperature.
• Lubricate the machine fully according to “Lubricants and Maintenance Schedule” or the lubrication
diagram on the machine.

3-32 Operation
XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

• Start the engine to warm it up to normal temperature before load-on operation.

– When the machine is under idle state, if dirt and ice are frozen on running gears, heat up to thaw the
frozen substances before machine operation attempt.

– Operate the hydraulic units with care until the temperature that normal operation requires is reached.

– Check all machine control units and their functions to ensure normal working.

• Put a spare outer air cleaner, for changing the freezing parts conveniently and limit the air flowing to
the engine parts.
• In cold days, see the items concerning start in cold days in “Engine Start” in this manual if assisted
start is unavoidable.
• To prevent ice coating. Clean up all dirt, snow and water. When possible, cover the machine with canvas
and prevent edge of the canvas from being frozen on ground.
B. Operations in extremely hot conditions
• When it is extremely hot, continuous operation to the machine will cause overheat. When necessary,
monitor engine temperature and stop the machine to allow it to cool down.

– Under high temperature, the dirt in the cooling system will be produced more quickly. Change anti-
freeze yearly to keep corrosion resistant effect.

– When necessary, flush the cooling system periodically to keep its passages clean. Avoid use of high
alkalinity water; otherwise, dirt and rust are produced more easily.

• Check electrolyte level daily. In a high-temperature environment, please use weaker electrolyte. Dilute
the electrolyte with specific gravity of 1.280 into that with specific gravity of 1.200~1.240, and then
charge it fully. Whenever reading of specific gravity reaches 1.160, recharge. If stored for an extended
period of time under high temperature, the battery will discharge automatically at high rate.

Do not store acid batteries near large numbers of tires; the acid gases will do harm to rubber.

• Repair the fuel system according to Part 5 “Engine Fuel System” of this manual. Please check the
moisture content before refueling. High temperature and refrigeration will cause substance concentra-
tion of storage tank.
• Lubricate according to “Lubricants and Maintenance Schedule” or the lubrication labels on this
machine.
• Do not park the machine under sunlight for an extended period of time. Park the machine under a cover-
ing to keep sunlight, dirt and dust out.

XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

– If no appropriate covering is available, please cover the machine with canvas. Prevent dust from en-
tering the engine and the hydraulic system.

– In high-temperature and humid climate, all components on the machine will be corroded. Especially
in rainy season, this comes more seriously. Rust and paint bubbles will occur on metal surfaces and
there will be spots on surfaces of other components.

– Apply corrosion resistant lubricant on not painted or exposed surfaces. Protect conductors and termi-
nals with insulating mixture. Apply paint or appropriate antirust materials on damaged surfaces to
prevent rust or being corroded.

C. Operations in dusty or sandy zones

Operation in most places will cause dust. In dusty or sandy places, be sure to take protective measures.
• Keep the cooling system and the cooling zone clean, blow to clean them with compressed air, and take
this measure as frequent as possible.

When using compressed air, please wear safety goggles.

• When servicing the fuel system, take care to prevent dust and sand from entering the oil circuit.
• Always service the air cleaner; check the air cleaner clogging indicator daily. Prevent dust and sand
from entering engine pats and components as possible as you can.
• Lubricate and service according to “maintenance schedule” in section 3 or the lubrication diagram
on the machine. Before lubrication, clean all lubrication connections. Mixture of sand and lubricant will
result in wear of parts and aggravated wear.
• Keep the equipment as clean as possible. Park the excavator under a shelter or cover it with tarpaulin to
protect the equipment from damage of sandstorm.
D. Working in rainy and humid environments
The notices for working in rainy environments are similar to those described above for working in high-
temperature conditions.

• Safety storage of fittings

The stored fittings such as bucket, hydraul-
ic hammer and grafter may fall, resulting in
severe injuries. Store the fittings and appa-
ratus safety to avoid falling, so the children
and other personnel should be far away
from the storage area.

Figure4-17

• Pay attention to high-temperature fluid.

1. Avoid the heat injury caused by the
sprayed high-temperature fluid. After
the operation, the cooling water of en-
gine is hot and has a certain pressure;
there is hot water or steam in engine
or radiator. If the skin contacts the
spilled hot water or steam, the severe
skin burns will be caused.

1) Avoid the burning of hot water that

may be sprayed out. Don’t open the Figure4-18
cover of radiator before cooling the
engine. In case of opening the cover,
turn the cover to bottom slowly, and
remove the cover after releasing the
pressure fully.

2) Pressure exists in the hydraulic oil

tank. Ensure the pressure is released
before removing the cover.

2. High-temperature fluid and surface.

During the operation, engine oil, gear
oil and hydraulic oil may become hot;
engine, hose, pipe and other parts will
also become hot.

4-16 Lubrication, maintenance and repair

3. After cooling the oil and parts, start to

check or maintain them.

• Periodic replacement of rubber hose

1. Due to ageing, fatigue and wear, the rub-
ber hose containing flammable fluid may
be broken under the pressure. It’s diffi-
cult to judge the poorness of rubber hose
due to its ageing and wear, and replace
the rubber hose at regular intervals.

2. Irregular replacement of rubber hose

may cause the fire, the injection of fluid
into skin or the knock of front-end work- Figure4-19
ing device to persons around it will
cause severe heat injury, dermal gan-
grene, other injuries or death.

• Pay attention to high-pressure fluidIf the fuel, hydraulic oil or other fluids injected under high pres-
sure can penetrate the skin or rip into the eyes, it will cause severe injury, blindness or death.

Figure 4-20

contacts with high-pressure fluid. Wear

the face mask or safety goggles to pro-
tect your eyes.

4. In case of any accident, let the doctor

who’s familiar with this type of wound
cure immediately.

Any fluid injected into skin must be

removed through surgery within several
hours, otherwise the dermal gangrene
will be caused.
• Treatment of accumulatorThe pilot control system is equipped with an accumulator filled with high-
pressure nitrogen, so the pressure of system must be relieved during the maintenance of pilot control
system.
1. Don’t drill on the accumulator, or don’t make it contact the flame, fire or heat source.
2. Don’t weld the accumulator, or don’t attach any article on it.
3. In case of removing, maintaining or treating the accumulator, the filled gas must be discharged. Con-
tact with our company or supplier.
4. In case of treating the accumulator, wear the safety goggles and protective gloves. The high-pressure
hydraulic oil will stab the skin or cause the injury.
• Safety maintaining air-conditioning systemThe splash of refrigerant on skin will cause the frost
injury.

1. During the maintenance of air-condition-
ing system, use Freon correctly as per
the instructions for Freon container.

2. Adopt the recovery or recirculation sys-

tem to prevent Freon from discharging
into the atmosphere.

3. Don’t make Freon fluid contact the

skin.

leak proof container. Don’t use the
food or drink vessel, because it may
cause the wrong drinking.

2. Don’t pour the waste liquid on the

ground, into sewerage or any water
source.

3. The air-conditioning refrigerant is leaked

into the air, which will damage the at- Figure4-24
mospheric layer of the earth. According
to the government regulations, an air-
conditioning service center with desired
certificates may be required to recover
and regenerate the air-conditioning
refrigerant.

4. Inquire the correct recovering or treat-

ment methods of discards from local en-
vironmental protection or recovery
center or your assigned dealer.

4.3.2 Maintenance

• Check and maintenance of hydraulic device

chine before starting the check or maintenance.

1. During the maintenance of hydraulic device, ensure that the machine shall be placed on the flat or
hard ground.
2. Fall the bucket to the ground, and turn the engine off correctly.
3. Maintain the hydraulic device after cooling the machine part, hydraulic oil and lubricating oil fully,
because the residual heat and pressure will exist in the hydraulic device soon after finishing the
operation.

1) Drain the air in the hydraulic oil tank to release its inner pressure.

2) Cool the machine. Check and maintain the high-temperature or high-pressure parts, because they
may cause the sudden fly out or spray of parts or hydraulic oil and the personal injury.

Lubrication, maintenance and repair 4-19

XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

3) In case of removing the plug, don’t make your body and face against them, because any hydraulic
part may still have a certain pressure even if the part has been cooled.

4) Don’t try to maintain or check the traction or rotary motor circuit on the slope, because they can
have high pressures due to their own weights.

4. During the connection to the hydraulic hose and pipe, pay special attention to the seal surfaces to en-
sure no dirt exists on them, and avoid the damages to them. Please remember the following points:

1) Clean the inner face of hose, pipe or oil tank with cleaning fluid, and dry them thoroughly before
connecting them.

2) Use non-destructive or defective O rings, and don’t damage them during the assembling.

3) During the connection of hose, don’t make the high-pressure hose distorted, because the lifetime
of twisted hose will be greatly reduced.

4) Tighten the low-pressure hose clamp cautiously, and ensure they can’t be screwed too tight.

5. In case of filling the hydraulic oil, use the oil of the same brand always, and don’t mix the oils of
different brands. In case of wishing to use the oil listed in “Brands and Names of Recommended

problem shall not be used. If any dis-

turbance is found, resolve it in time.
• Adjustment of bucket joint gap
There is a regulation system of bucket joint gap capable of eliminating the connection sloshing. When
the connection slashing is increased, remove or attach the tab as described below.

a) Park the machine on flat ground, fall the

bucket to ground with its plane down to avoid
rolling the bucket.
b) Run the engine at low idle speed, turn the
bucket clockwise on the ground until left boss
top of bucket contacts the bucket rod.
c) Stop the engine. Pull the safety locking rod to
LOCK (lock).

Note: in the case of removing the tab, there

is no need to remove the bolts (1 shown in the
Figure). The tabs are half round in shape, so it’s
easy to push them out with a screwdriver after
the bolt is loosened.
d) Loosen the bolt slightly with a spanner. Push
all the tabs out of the gap (c) between the
pressure plate and the bucket.
e) Push the bolt to one side of bucket rod, and
eliminate the whole clearance a between bucket
rod and cam. Push the cam onto the bucket rod to
increase the gap (b), and measure the gap (b)
with a feeler gauge, which shall not be adjusted
below 0.5mm.
f) Attach the adjusting shims as much as possible
in the clearance b.

Note: be sure to mount all the remaining

tabs in the gap (c) to avoid damage to the bucket
rod tail end face or bolts.

g) Attach the residual tabs in the clearance c, and tighten the bolt.

Note: the total number of tabs used is 12 (6 pairs).

If the measured value d is below 5mm, replace the cam.
• Removal of traction control lever
Lubrication, maintenance and repair 4-37
XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

If necessary, remove the traction operat-

ing lever.

1) Lower the bucket to ground.

2) Stop the engine as per the shutdown

steps of engine

3) Pull the safety locking rod to LOCK

(lock).

4) Remove the bolts 1 and 2, and remove Figure4-44

• Check and replacement of safety belt

Check the safety belt every day; replace
the safety belt every 3 years.

Always keep the safety belt in good con-

dition, and replace it if necessary to en-
sure its sound performance.

Check the safety belt, lock latch and

connector thoroughly before the opera-
tion. If the safety belt or its parts are
damaged or worn, replace it or them be- Figure4-45
fore the operation.

• Check of track sag

4-38 Lubrication, maintenance and repair

XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

Check the track sag every day.

As shown in figure, rotate the upper car

by 90°, and then fall the bucket to lift the
crawler away from the ground, keep the
angle between the movable arm and
Figure4-46
bucket rod within 90° to 110°, place the
arc part of bucket on the ground, place
the cushion block under the frame of
chassis to support the machine, rotate the
crawler back by two circles, rotate it for-
ward by two circles, and measure the
distance A between frame bottom and
track plate back from middle part of
chassis frame.

Requirements of track sag:

XE75DA:A=300~335mm.

Note: check the slag of crawler

after removing the soil on the track
plate.
• Adjust the sag of crawler.
1. Points for attention for adjusting the track sag

1) If the track sag is not within the desired range, loosen or tighten the track as per the steps below.

2) During the adjustment of track sag, fall the bucket to ground, and jack the track on one side. Apply
the same methods to the crawler on the other side. Place the cushion block under the frame every
time to support the machine.

3) After adjusting the track sag on both sides, move the machine forward and backward several
times.

4) Check the sag of track again. If the track sag can’t reach the specified value, continue to adjust it
until it’s satisfactory.

2. Slacken the track:

Lubrication, maintenance and repair 4-39

XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

Notice:

1) Don’t loosen the valve body

rapidly or Excessively, otherwise
the grease in the tensioner will
spray. Loosen the valve body
carefully, and don’t make the
body and face against it.
Figure4-47
2) Don’t loosen the grease
coupler. 1.Valve body 2.Lubricating grease
Important: if the crushed stones
or soils are clipped between the
driving wheel and track, remove
them .

1) In case of loosening the crawler, rotate the valve body slowly anticlockwise with a deep socket
wrench.

2) Rotate the valve body by 1 to 1.5 circles enough to loosen the track.

3) If the grease can’t be smoothly drained, lift the track away from the ground, and rotate the track
slowly.

4) After reaching the proper track sag, tighten the valve body clockwise.

3. Tighten the track

Note: if the crawler is still too tight after tightening the valve body anticlockwise, or it is still
loose after applying the grease into the grease coupler, this is abnormal. At this time, don’t
try to remove the track or track-tension device, because the high-pressure grease of track-ten-
sion device is dangerous. Therefore, overhaul it or contact with your assigned dealer.

If it’s necessary to tighten the track, connect the grease gun to grease coupler, add in the grease until
the track sag reaches the specified value.
• Check of air conditioner

4-40 Lubrication, maintenance and repair

XE75DA HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATOR’S MANUAL

1-Liquid reservoir 2-Connector

1. Check the air conditioner every day.

2. Check the cooling gas at the connections of pipe for leaks (as shown in above figure). If the oil leaks
are found near to the connections of pipes, the air leak may occur to these connections.
3. Check of refrigerant amount: after running the engine at 1500r/min for 1 to 3 minutes, check the
amount of refrigerant through a sight glass on the liquid reservoir.
4. Check of condenser: if the blade of condenser is blocked by dirt or bugs, its cooling effects will be re-
duced. Therefore, always keep them clean.
5. Check of compressor: after using the air conditioner 5 to 10 minutes, touch the pipes on high- and
low-pressure sides. If they are normal, the pipe on high-pressure side shall be hot, while that on low-
pressure side shall be cold.
6. Check the mounting bolt for loosening: ensure the mounting bolt and other mounting or tightening
bolts of compressor are well tightened.
7. Check of belt and adjustment of tension: Check the compressor and fan belt for wears visually. Check
and adjust the belt tension with reference to the figure above. Fan and compressor belt (by pressure):
about 98N, deflection: 7 to 10mm.
• Check of bolt and nut tightening torque
Check the tightening torques of bolt and nut every 250 hours.
After the first 50 hour breaking-in period of machine, check the tightness of bolt and nut, and then
check it once every 250 hours. If loose, tighten the bolt up to the torque shown in Tightening of Bolt. In
case of replacement, replace it with the same or higher-class bolt and nut. For the bolt and nut outside
Tightening of Bolt, refer to “Tightening Torques”.
