INTRODUCTION
Schizophrenia is a huge public health issue that is exacerbated by the victims' private and
individual tragedies. Schizophrenia is the major diagnosis for more than half of the mentally ill patients who
occupy more than half of the hospital beds in our nation. Typically, the illness affects adults between the
ages of 18 and 28. It frequently permanently disables them: a schizophrenic admitted to a state institution
has a slim chance of ever returning to society as a functioning member. The disease's symptoms are
behavioural and are as different as the individuals' personalities. In general, schizophrenics exhibit little or
no response or an incorrect response to other individuals and their environment. Secondary effects
frequently include hallucinations and delusions, confusion, mood swings from manic to depressive, stupor,
and catatonic rigidity (Jackson, 1962).
Despite the fact that antipsychotics are not always effective or for all diseases, they are the
mainstay of treatment for schizophrenia. Finding phenomenological or clinical signals that can forecast
therapeutic effectiveness has been the subject of numerous investigations. Early naturalistic investigations
demonstrated that first-generation antipsychotics (FGAs) were more effective in treating chronic, severe,
and systematic types of catatonic schizophrenia than in treating acute or periodic catatonic schizophrenia.
FGAs have benefited from additional trials. Perhaps in patients with more serious, early-onset, and positive
psychotic symptoms (Caroff et al., 2022).

To measure adherence to the suggestions made for schizophrenia medication-assisted therapy, the
individual fitness score (IFS) formula was developed. Compliance with prescription guidelines was
evaluated both before and after admittance to the EGUIDE curriculum prior to the start of the guideline
training. a review of medication adherence both during and after hospitalisation. The Guidelines for the
Pharmacological Treatment of Schizophrenia are assessed in this inquiry for the first time (Inada et al.,
2022).
OBJECTIVES
1. To identify what is schizophrenia
2. To identify the symptoms of schizophrenia
3. To identify the therapies used to treat schizophrenia

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
In conclusion, genetic tools can be used to analyze a patient's susceptibility to sickness and identify the
particular genes at blame. Another technique to understand the nature of schizophrenia is to use brain
imaging technologies to evaluate the chemical condition of the brain and record its activity. The analysis of
ECT and antipsychotic drugs revealed that, as long as potential side effects are taken into account, they can
alter the brain's structure and chemistry. The illness is not fully investigated because studying the human
mind is one of the most challenging areas of medicine. However, greater advances in this area are likely in
the future as psychiatric research and cutting-edge technology advance.
