10 Commandments on What to do After You Get a Prophecy | Bishop E. Bernard Jordan

1st Commandment
Confirmation of What’s in Our Hearts

Vision without action is merely a dream.

Action without vision just passes the
time. Vision with action can change the
world.
Joel A. Barker

Power Truth

We have also a more sure word of

prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye
take heed, as unto a light that shineth in
a dark place, until the day dawn, and the
day star arise in your hearts:
2 Peter 1:19 KJV

1
1st Commandment

Confirmation of What’s in Our Hearts

Have you ever felt you were at peace with a word

you’ve received? Say, after a mass, you went home with so
much peace in your heart, and it made you sleep comfortably
throughout the night? Have you ever felt this peace? When you
receive a word from someone, you can hardly tell if it’s from
God or not. Also, not all church preachers are authentically
anointed by God to deliver His word to you. Now, how can
you confirm if what you’ve received is really from Him?

A word from God confirms

what’s in your heart.

We can rely on other people saying that it’s from God, but
what if it’s really not from Him? A word from God confirms
what’s in your heart. Before you receive a prophetic word,
God has most likely prepared you for that. It should confirm
what you feel in your heart. If that word is entirely new to you,
then you should go back to His confirmation. God’s
confirmation brings peace that no one else can give. Peace
coming from the Lord is incomparable to what others can give
you.
Never structure your life on a word that’s not planted in
your heart. God prepared you for a word, and He made sure of
that before He gives you that prophecy. Sometimes,
circumstances will confuse you that the word belongs to God,
but you have to think it over. Jesus warned us to test the spirit
because they aren’t always the Spirit of God. 1

If that word is entirely new to

you, then you should go back to
His confirmation.

How does God confirm it to you? Confirmation from

God involves a three-fold confirmation. It should be from

2
10 Commandments on What to do After You Get a Prophecy | Bishop E. Bernard Jordan

Him, in His word, and with His peace. When you receive a
prophecy, ask God to confirm it to you. Is it really from God?
Is it aligned with His words? Do you have peace in your heart?
Many times, a person’s faith may be put to the test. A
person’s faith may be shaken, or even destroyed because of a
false prophecy. Even believers are easily deceived of these
false prophecies. When the prophecy didn’t materialize in the
time expected, many believers get upset which results to
wavering faith. What’s worse is that some Christians resort to
backsliding and forsaking God. Scripture says, “God was in
Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their
trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word
of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

God’s confirmations bring

peace that no one else can give.

Sometimes, we rely on other people to confirm a

prophecy for us. Remember, a prophet’s job is to give the
message of the Lord, not to confirm it. You alone can tell if
that prophet is authentic or not. God understands you. He
definitely knows what’s in your hearts. He knows your needs,
and He wants to have a personal relationship with you. He
desires that. God wants to bring you close to Him, and He
would love that if you can confirm it with yourself. He gave
you wisdom to discern things that are from Him.

He gave you wisdom to discern

things that are from Him.

What Now

1. What is the three-fold confirmation?

2. Does the word from God bring peace?
3. Share an experience wherein you received a word from
God.

3
2nd Commandment

2nd Commandment
Reminding God of Prophetic Words

You have to see the pattern, understand

the order and experience the vision.
Michael E. Gerber

Power Truth

These were more noble than those in

Thessalonica, in that they received the
word with all readiness of mind, and
searched the scriptures daily, whether
those things were so.
Acts 17:11 KJV

Reminding God of Prophetic Words

Remember when you got a prophetic word a couple of

years ago? Remember how you declared it and meditated on
4
10 Commandments on What to do After You Get a Prophecy | Bishop E. Bernard Jordan

it? You earnestly prayed for it, but seems like it will never
come to pass. You did everything you were supposed to do,
but it still hasn’t come to pass. Say, you received a word that
you will prosper on your career, and that you will receive a
great blessing from God in the next three years of your life.
But, time flies so fast, and you are seeing the exact opposite.
You may start to feel sad and troubled. But, this is not the time
to be disheartened. When you know that the word is really
from God, remind Him of what He has given you years back.

When you know that the word

is really from God, remind Him
of what He has given you years
back.

Is it okay to remind God? How can you remind God of

this prophetic word? God gave us His permission to remind
Him until His word is done in our lives. God said in the Book
of James, “Behold I am with you and will keep you wherever
you go, and will remain true to you until I have done what I
have spoken to you.” Jacob’s faith was put to the test, but he
reminded God of his prophetic words, and he received
abundant blessings from the Lord. God kept us His part of the
covenant. Jacob says, “Oh God of my father Abraham and
God of my family, your country and to your family, and I will
deal well with you. I am trusting all the truth which You have
shown Your servant; for I crossed over and become two
companies. Deliver me, I pray from the hand of my brother.
For you said, ‘I will surely treat you well and make your
descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered
for multitude.”1 (Genesis 32:9-12)

God gave us His permission to

remind Him until His word is
done in our lives.

5
2nd Commandment

Jacob demonstrated himself to be an eager Christian.

He wrestled with God until he received his blessing. He said, I
will not let You go until You bless me.” God’s word never
fails. But there are factors which hold these words: doubt,
unbelief, fear, and a pessimistic mindset. God is testing our
faith. He wants to give these words to you when you are
completely ready and responsible for them.
Have you received a prophetic word and are still
waiting for it to happen in your life? Check yourselves. Check
your faith. Ask God for it. Remind Him and wrestle with Him
through prayer. Ask God to change your mindset, and to
cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Eliminate doubts, fear,
unbelief, and a pessimistic mindset. Prepare yourself for great
blessings. God wants to give His blessings, and He only gives
when you are ready to receive His gifts.

God wants to give us His

blessings, and He only gives
when you are ready to receive
His gifts.

What now

1. Is it okay to remind God of His prophetic words to us?

2. How can you remind God of His promises to you?
3. What are the three factors which hinder these promises
from being fulfilled in our lives?

6

3rd Commandment
Be Ready for Prophetic Words

A self-fulfilling prophecy is an assumption

or prediction that, purely as a result of
having been made, cause the expected or
predicted event to occur and thus
confirms its own 'accuracy.
Paul Watzlawick

Power Truth

For such are false apostles, deceitful

workers, transforming themselves into
the apostles of Christ. And no marvel;
for Satan himself is transformed into an
angel of light. Therefore it is no great
thing if his ministers also be

7
3rd Commandment

transformed as the ministers of

righteousness; whose end shall be
according to their works.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 KJV
Be Ready for Prophetic Words

How can you be ready for prophetic words? What are

the most essential things in your Christian living? First, being
a Christian means hearing straight from God. This is a unique
trait of a Christian. When a believer commits himself to Christ,
he gave the benefit of speaking to that believer directly. God
uses prophets, but when you have a deep relationship with
Christ, you are likely to discern his word. You hear God’s
voice, and communicating with Him is not at all difficult.

God uses prophets, but when

you have a deep relationship
with Christ, you are likely to
discern his word.

Obeying His commandments are the next thing you

need to do in order to be ready for prophetic words. When you
are a true-born Christian, then you won’t find obeying His
commandments a problem. In fact, it delights you when you
follow His lead. Scripture confirms that by following His
commandments, God gives His wisdom and grace. 1
Indeed, it is always in the Lord’s heart to communicate
with his Body, the Church. It is important to personally hear
from him. This is the normal pattern of every believer –
hearing from God, obeying His commands, and using His
wisdom for a successful Christian living.

It is always in the Lord’s heart

to communicate with His body
– the Church.

8
10 Commandments on What to do After You Get a Prophecy | Bishop E. Bernard Jordan

Why is it important to be ready for prophecies? What is

the importance of prophecies? The Lord can speak through
prophecy in times when a believer is not hearing God’s voice
due to being new in the faith, too emotional in his
circumstances, and having doubts with his conviction. Also,
prophecies are vital to confirm someone’s faith when it is
being put to the test. Moreover, the Lord reveals things about
someone’s life, and establishes a connection with that person
through prophecies.
How can you tell if you are ready to receive a
prophecy? When you are too overwhelmed with the prophecy
and you feel not comfortable about it, then maybe you are not
yet ready to receive this blessing. But, when you are energized
with this word, then this is the perfect time for you to receive
and thank God for it.

Your faith is a great

contributing factor to your
readiness.

Your faith is a great contributing factor to your

readiness. You have to arm yourself with the grace and power
of God for you to be ready of His abundant blessings. God is at
work in each and everyone’s life. He has great plans for each
one of us. Have faith and be ready for prophetic words.
What Now

1. Why is it important to be ready for prophecies?

2. How can you tell if you’re ready to receive a prophecy?
3. What is the normal pattern of every believer?

4th Commandment
Your Relationship with Christ

“Dare to believe in the reality of your

assumption
and watch the world play its part
relative to to its fulfillment.”
Neville Goddard

Power Truth

And Jesus came and spake unto them,

saying, All power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost:

10
10 Commandments on What to do After You Get a Prophecy | Bishop E. Bernard Jordan

Teaching them to observe all things

whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you always, even unto
the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
Your Relationship with Christ

Christ is a God of love. He gives unconditional love to

his followers. He knows no bitterness and hatred. He wants his
people to love one another just as they love themselves. Have
you established a relationship with our Savior? Do you love
Jesus? What made you love him? Do you believe that he loves
you so much? Do you believe that he is delighted when you
draw yourself closer to him?
We are all sinners, and we all need Christ. We need a
Savior. One day, we will all stand before God and He will look
in our hearts. What’s in your heart right now? Are you
nurturing your faith in Christ? Or have you abandoned your
faith? Love for Christ means accepting him as your Lord and
Savior, allowing him to change your heart. Having a
relationship with him means allowing him to be part of your
everyday life. 1

Having a relationship with him

means allowing him to be part
of your everyday life.

Martin Luther King once had a dream. This dream was

revealed through Christ. Building a relationship with him
provides transformation. God freely offers this relationship.
It’s up to you if you’ll nurture it and begin transforming
yourselves. Luther’s dream begins with God. He is the source
of strength for us.

11
4th Commandment

“Man is a sinner in need of God’s

forgiving grace. This is not
deadening pessimism; it is
Christian realism.” – Martin
Luther King

A relationship with Christ gives us the strength to overcome

sins. He created each one of us uniquely and equally. He
expects us to treat one another with fairness. Sometimes, in our
Christian walk, we are faced with critical people who claim to
be true disciples of Christ. Martin used this scripture for
people to be guided of Christ’s word: “Man is a sinner in need
of God’s forgiving grace. This is not deadening pessimism; it
is Christian realism.”
Now, have you asked yourselves, “If you are going to
offer your life for something, what will that be?” Will you
offer your life for material things or earthly wealth? What
makes you feel significant? What transforms you? Earthly
wealth can never compensate what our Savior can give your
life. But Christ knows exactly your role. He knows your very
purpose. Begin having a deep relationship with Christ and his
prophecies will be clear to you.

Begin having a deep

relationship with Christ and his
prophecies will be clear to you.

What Now
1. Do you have a deep relationship with Christ?
2. Do you believe that Christ is our source of strength?
3. What does it mean by having a relationship with him?

12

5th Commandment
Meditate on God’s Word

“ The problem with worry is that we

attract the very thing we are trying to
avoid. We live a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Life keeps its agreement with us through
our beliefs, because whatever we think
about, we bring about. Life is like a
mirror. It reflects back whatever image
we present to it.
Robert Anthony

Power Truth

Blessed is the man that walketh not in

the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth
in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the
seat of the scornful. But his delight is in

13
5th Commandment

the law of the Lord; and in his law doth

he meditate day and night. And he shall
be like a tree planted by the rivers of
water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his
season; his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1:1-3 KJV
Meditate on God’s Word

What is the significance of meditating? Are you

constantly meditating on God’s word? We have discussed that
the normal pattern of Christian living includes knowing God’s
word. Now, how can you effectively meditate in order to fully
comprehend his word?
Meditation greatly impacts self-reflection. The way our
mind sees our being is self-assessment. Self-reflection and
self-assessment basically go hand in hand. These things are
essential to screen one’s self of the barriers to meditating on
the gospel. Indeed, it is essential to know how to properly
meditate. But for many, meditation becomes too difficult to
perform.

Meditation greatly impacts self-

reflection.

Oftentimes, when you try to meditate, these thoughts

enter your mind: “I don’t have time for this”, or “When will
this be over?” When these thoughts start to cloud your
thinking, always look back on these questions: “Am I living
my life as if my time is running out?” or “Am I putting myself
last on my priority list?” Why do you need to ask yourselves
these questions? Meditations will not be hard for you if you set
these questions as your guide for self-reflection. Sometimes,
the hardest thing to do is to eradicate your own viewpoint.
There comes self-adoration which blocks your way to knowing
God’s will.

14
10 Commandments on What to do After You Get a Prophecy | Bishop E. Bernard Jordan

Sometimes, the hardest thing to

do is to eradicate your own
viewpoint.

How do you properly meditate? Matthew Budd and

Larry Rothestein explain the proper way of meditating in their
book, You are What You Say. In the book, it was explained this
way: You have to sit comfortably in a firm chair with a straight
back. Sit alertly not stiffly. Find a place where your body feels
centered, not leaning on any direction. Hold your head in an
alert position, not slumped forward. Let your jaw relaxed; it
may drop and your lips may part. Just center yourself for a few
moments. Breath from time to time. Breathe in and out,
regularly and deeply.1
By doing this, you might feel a consciousness of
something outside of you. Notice that a non-judging mind will
soon come to your awareness. Views will arise. The word of
the Lord won’t be hard to grasp. Meditate more often and feel
your mind. You will notice that you’ll be more relaxed and
composed. This is a good attitude when you do self-reflection.

Self-adoration blocks your way

to knowing God’s will.

What Now

1. Do self-reflection and self-assessment go hand in

hand?
2. What is the proper way of meditating?
3. What are the benefits of meditating often?

15
6th Commandment

6th Commandment
Wait Patiently Upon the Lord

Pessimism becomes a self-fulfilling

prophecy; it reproduces itself by crippling
our willingness to act.
Howard Zinn

Power Truth

On that night the king could not sleep.

And he gave orders to bring the book of
memorable deeds, the chronicles, and
they were read before the king. And it
was found written how Mordecai had
told about Bigthana and Teresh, two of
the king's eunuchs, who guarded the
threshold, and who had sought to lay
hands on King Ahasuerus. And the king

16
10 Commandments on What to do After You Get a Prophecy | Bishop E. Bernard Jordan

said, “What honor or distinction has

been bestowed on Mordecai for this?”
The king's young men who attended him
said, “Nothing has been done for him.”
And the king said, “Who is in the
court?”
Esther 6:1-3 KJV
Wait Patiently Upon the Lord

Are you willing to wait patiently upon the Lord? Does

waiting for him create a significance in your life? Waiting
patiently for our Lord is something we should be proud of. The
Lord is deserving of every bit of our time. He deserves every
minute and every second of our lives. Now, if you don’t
believe that He is worth our time, you have to look back to
where you originated. God created us in His image and
likeness. In fact, we don’t own ourselves. He owns our every
being. He just gave us the free will to do what we want in this
lifetime.
Soon, our time will be up, and this life will soon return
to its creator. Can you confidently face Him one day and claim
that you’ve been a good steward of the life He has given you?
How can we make this lifetime productive?

The Lord is deserving of every

bit of your time.

Centering our lives in Jesus creates powerful Christian

living. Indulging ourselves in the gospel renews our spiritual
minds. The world is deceitful, therefore we have to renew our
faith every single time. In order to strengthen your faith, you
must be centered in Christ’s will. Our foundation, the center of
our lives, must be his truth.

17
6th Commandment

Centering our lives in Jesus

creates powerful Christian
living.

Let’s follow Jesus Christ’s example and be

strengthened by his grace and love. We need to keep his
commandments and live by them. Being focused with Jesus
makes a lot of difference. Waiting patiently for his will brings
a lot of breakthroughs.
Scripture says, “But now, O Lord, thou art our father;
we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work
of thy hand.” If our lives are centered in Jesus Christ, he can
successfully mold us into who we need to be, and provide us
powerful anointing to inspire the lives of many. 1

Do not be a believer who does

his things in his own way.

Do not be a believer who does his thing in his own

way. God’s answer to some of our prayers is to “wait”. Jesus
teaches the value of waiting. When we know how to wait,
good things can come our way. The distinctive features of a
true believer are the eyes to see, ears to hear, and a pure heart
to obey all that the Lord has spoken. Obedience and sacrifice
are valued by Christ, therefore we have to practice these traits.
Are you willing to patiently wait for his will in your
life? Are you willing to wait for his words to be revealed in
your life? Have him be the center of your life.
What Now

1. Are you willing to wait patiently for God’s word in

your life?
2. Is Christ worth your time? Why or Why not?
3. Do you have the heart to wait for his will to be done in
your life?

18

7th Commandment
The Prophet Test

The visions we offer our children shape

the future. It _matters_ what those
visions are. Often they become self-
fulfilling prophecies. Dreams are maps.
Carl Sagan

Power Truth

“GOD has lost track of me.

He doesn’t care what happens to me”?
Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been
listening?
GOD doesn’t come and go. God lasts.
He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine.
He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his
breath. And he knows everything, inside and out.

19
7th Commandment

He energizes those who get tired,

gives fresh strength to dropouts.
For even young people tire and drop out,
young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon GOD get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don’t get tired,
they walk and don’t lag behind.
Isaiah 40:28-31 KJV
The Prophet Test

There are many false prophets because many people

speak from their own belief. They believe in what their own
mind tells them. God says, “Woe to the foolish prophets, who
follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!” (Ezekiel 13:3-
4) People’s own desire made them follow the enemy.
Satan’s followers hide themselves in sheep’s clothing.
In this present time, it is important to be prepared to recognize
people with false anointing. Their ways are not of God’s. They
contradict what’s written in the scripture. Their only aim is to
keep you away from God. 1

Jesus warns that some people

would prophesy in his name but
not actually know him.

Do not receive a prophecy from just anyone. Jesus

warns that some people would prophesy in his name but not
actually know him. False prophets can be detected by their
fruits. Some others speak of God, but their lifestyle are
ungodly. This can confuse your beliefs, but do not be swayed.
Hold on to what you know is true.
Some other prophecies appear to be flattering. Beware
of these prophecies. This often misleads you unknowingly, and
draws you away from God’s grace. Be filled with the Holy
Spirit. Let his anointing and blood protect you from these false

20
10 Commandments on What to do After You Get a Prophecy | Bishop E. Bernard Jordan

preachers. Remember that they are not from God, they are
from the devil. Do not be deceived.

Let Christ’s anointing and

blood protect you from these
false preachers.

Followers of Satan are abundant in this world. They are

out to deceive Christ’s believers. Being armed with the gospel
helps us determine people with fake anointing. Always, hold
on to the revelations of God. Soon, Jesus will come to defeat
the enemy and win the souls of his faithful followers. To know
if someone’s anointing is genuine, God gave us His advices.
He shall display a Godly character for he bears the fruit of the
spirit. If it is otherwise, then he is a fake. An anointed prophet
shall be consistent with the Scripture.
When you get a prophecy, ask God for wisdom. You
will know if a prophetic word is blessed or not. The peace that
comes with this word is necessary for you to test the prophet
who delivers this message.

Being armed with the gospel

helps us determine people with
fake anointing.

What Now

1. Can you receive a prophecy from just anyone?

2. Do you trust that a prophesy given by someone is from
Christ? How can you know if this is from him?
3. How can you know if a prophetic word is blessed or
not?

Sharing Your Prophetic Words

Whatever we expect with confidence

becomes our own self-fulfilling prophecy.
Brian Tracy

Power Truth

The two angels came to Sodom in the

evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate
of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose
to meet them and bowed himself with
his face to the earth and said, “My lords,
please turn aside to your servant's house
and spend the night and wash your feet.
Then you may rise up early and go on
your way.” They said, “No; we will
spend the night in the town square.” But

he pressed them strongly; so they turned

aside to him and entered his house. And
he made them a feast and baked
unleavened bread, and they ate. But
before they lay down, the men of the
city, the men of Sodom, both young and
old, all the people to the last man,
surrounded the house. And they called
to Lot, “Where are the men who came to
you tonight? Bring them out to us, that
we may know them
Genesis 19:1-4 KJV
Sharing Your Prophetic Words

When you receive a prophetic word, the initial thing

that comes to your mind is to share this word with some of
your close friends, family, or work mates. This sounds good as
with sharing the gospel, though there is a precaution. Sharing
prophetic words is not as upright as sharing the truth of Christ.
Oddly, what God says to you can make some people angry for
reasons that are unidentifiable. When Joseph dreamed and
shared it with the people, they took him out and dumped him.
Many believers can relate to this. Sharing prophetic word with
people should be accompanied by prayer. Pray first and ask
God if it is right to impart it with those people you chose to
share the message with. 1
Sharing prophetic word with
people should be accompanied
by prayer.
The life of Apostle Paul is a good example when he received
his prophetic word from Ananias, “Go, for he is a chosen
vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the
children of Israel. For I will show him how many things he
must suffer for My name’s sake.” (Acts 9:15-16). After sharing
this prophetic word, Paul was imprisoned. The prophesies

23
9th Commandment

revealed to us can mean differently to other people. The way

God made us understand this prophecy is not at all the same
with people without His anointing.
The prophecies revealed to us
can mean differently to other
people.
Pray for those people whom you chose to share your prophecy
with. Let God’s anointing be with them as well. This way, you
will be empowered to wait for this prophecy to happen in His
perfect time. Remember three gifts working in your spiritual
life when you receive a prophetic word: prophecy, word of
knowledge, and word of wisdom. Consider yourself blessed
for God entrusted you with these gifts.
The prophecy lets you see the future that God plans for
your life. The word of knowledge helps you believe the
prophecy within the word. Lastly, the word of wisdom is what
makes you comprehend every single word God has given you,
and makes you hold on until this prophecy comes to pass.
Pray for those people whom
you chose to share your
prophecy with.
What prophecies have been revealed to you? Are you
willing to share it with people close to you? First, ask God in
prayer. Ask His anointing to overflow with these people. Let
Him move into their lives for them to understand the message
given to you.
What Now

1. Why is it important to pray for people whom you chose

Interpreting Prophecy

The ultimate function of prophecy is not

to tell the future, but to make it. Your
successful past will block your visions of
the future.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is

Interpreting Prophecy

Prophecies come in different ways for different people.

They vary with every individual and depending on one’s
anointing. Some prophets will hear words in their spirit. Others
see visions that speak into a situation. However, no matter how
an individual receives a prophecy, it will still be incomplete.
God will not reveal every detail of the prophecy. He lets you
interpret the remaining bits to complete the message. Though
He gives just enough information, you have to learn to
interpret the prophecy that He revealed.
No matter how an individual
receives a prophecy, it will still
be incomplete.
God’s nature is indeed mysterious. He speaks through
parables and He lets us see visions without complete details.
Why does God need to do this? Why can’t He provide us with
complete information? It is definitely because God wants us to
be dependent on Him. If He lays down everything to us, then
we will not honor Him the way He wants us to give Him glory.
He wants His people to have faith, and to trust that by His
knowledge and wisdom, we can comprehend His message.
Now, how can we interpret a prophecy?
God speaks accurately, but we sometimes don’t hear
Him accurately. This gives loopholes to interpreting
prophecies. The correctness of the prophecy varies with how
we hear God’s voice.
God speaks accurately, but we
sometimes don’t hear Him
accurately.

10 Commandments on What to do After You Get a Prophecy | Bishop E. Bernard Jordan

Take these two questions as your guide in interpreting

prophetic words: Does the prophecy come true? And Does it
affirm that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh?
Does the prophecy come true? Deuteronomy 18:21-
22 says, “How can we know when a message has not been
spoken by the Lord? If what a prophet proclaims in the name
of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message
the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken
presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.” God’s prophecies
always come true. His prophecies may not occur on time, but
they will come to pass.2
God’s prophecies always come
true.
Does the prophecy affirm that Jesus is God in the
flesh? If the prophetic word you receive doesn’t acknowledge
that God is fully man and fully God, then you have to watch
out. False prophets have gone out into the world, so be careful
of the revelations you will be receiving.
Beware if the prophecy elevates anybody else other
than Jesus. Revelations 19:10 says, “For the testimony of
Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Yet, this is hard to notice
because sometimes, the prophecy is exalting the church, and
we confuse it to be Jesus Christ.
What Now

1. Do we hear God’s voice accurately?

2. Why can’t God reveal every information to us?
3. Does God want us to be dependent on Him?

you shall become. Your vision is the

Always Give Thanks
If you are to desire something in your life, a thankful
heart is expected. Isn’t that all things come from the Lord? So
whatever it is that you are expecting to have is definitely
something you should be thankful of upon acceptance.
Jesus is very specific with thanksgiving. He is
delighted with a heart of gratitude. A thanksgiving life is a life
that pleases God. Thanksgiving should always be first. Before
you eat, and before you go to sleep, you usually thank the
Lord. You thank Him for providing food, and for giving you
another beautiful day. Your gratitude is the utmost praise you
give to the Lord.
Your gratitude is the utmost
praise you give to the Lord.
When you receive a prophecy, it is best to give Him
thanks. Praise Him for His goodness. Praise Him for the plans
He has for you. A way to express gratitude towards God is by
walking upright before Him. Scripture tells us that we need to
be holy because the Lord is holy. In this way, you are not only
pleasing God, but you are a step closer to having God’s
prophecy fulfilled in your life.
God will fulfill His prophecy no matter what. God
doesn’t have the habit of saying things He doesn’t mean.
Living a righteous life is a choice you can make. By living an
upright life, you are letting the Holy Spirit take over your life.

29
10th Commandment

By living an upright life, you

are letting the Holy Spirit take
over your life.
Living a sanctified life satisfies God, and you are
fulfilling His requirement of holiness. A good example of
showing gratitude is the story of the ten lepers. They were
begging for mercy and then they realized that they were
healed. Then, only one came all the way back to Jesus,
praising him for his compassion. The lepers called out loudly
for mercy but only one leper offered loud thanksgiving and
praise.
“One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back,
praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at
Jesus’ feet and thanked him – and he was a Samaritan.
Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the
other nine?” (Luke 17:15-17)
Gratitude is also an important component of salvation.
Were all ten lepers healed? Were they saved from their
disease? The answer to these two questions is “Yes”.
However, not all of them gave thanks to the Lord. They all
hoped for a healing and they received it. They were healed
physically, but not spiritually. They were saved from their
disease, but only one received salvation. 1
Living a sanctified life satisfies
God, and you are fulfilling His
requirement of holiness.
What Now

1. Why is gratitude the highest form of praise for God?

2. Are you letting the Holy Spirit control your life?
3. Have you thanked the Lord for the prophecy He has
given you?
