A. The Indefinite Articles ‘A’ and ‘An’

Indefinite Article
‘A’ ‘An’
• is used with singular, countable nouns • is used with singular, countable nouns
that begin with a consonant sound. that begin with a vowel sound.

B. The Definite Article ‘The’

Usage Examples

C. The ‘Zero’ Article

Sometimes an article is not needed. This is often referred to as the ‘zero’ article (-).

Usage Examples
