Message from the Headmaster


Dear parents and learners,

It's examination time again! We've worked tirelessly this term to prepare
our boys for this moment. Now, it is time to showcase their knowledge
and skills. I have no doubt they have prepared well as well.

To our boys, believe in yourselves, stay calm, and give it your best shot.
You're capable of achieving great results. Remember, exams are not just
about grades; they are about demonstrating growth and learning. Trust
your abilities, and you' will excel.

To ensure success, we have prepared a Newsletter of this kind for the


first time to share the following:

1. The 2025 midyear timetable to ensure that learners do not miss any
examination.

2. Examination rules to ensure smooth writing by the learners, with min-

KHS EXAMINATION RULES
Please ensure that you have used the bathroom before you enter the exam venue.

Theduration of the paper is to the time allocated for you to complete the content of the pa-
per, use it wisely.

No bags allowed in the exam venue.

Learners should be seated half an hour before exam starts.

Latecoming will not be tolerated. If you are within the hour, you will be allowed in after exam
rules and instructions have been read, you will be given no extra time.

You will not be allowed to enter the exam venue after one hour.

Learner should be sure they are seated in the correct venue and writing the correct p per.

Learners should please be seated in alphabetical order.

No borrowing is allowed during an examination. Please make sure you have your own sta-
tionery. Calculators included. Two blue pens, ruler, eraser, and pencil.

No correcting fluid may be used.

There must be total silence when the learners enter the exam room, during the exam ses-
sion and total silence after the exam until all answer scripts have been collected. Please
be reminded that an oversight of any of these will be regarded as an exam irregularity.

The invigilator will collect answer scripts from the learners – Learners will not be allowed to
take scripts to invigilators. A class list or mark sheet should be used to tick the scripts
handed in. It should be placed in alphabetical order, stapled please.

Nobody is allowed to leave the exam room during the exam - unless there is a real crisis.

Learners are not allowed to leave the venue in the first hour and the last half an hour of an
exam therefore no ablution breaks are allowed during the session, learners should use fa-
cilities before and after the sessions.

Learners may not sleep or listen to music in the exam room - pillows and electronic devices
(other than calculators) are not allowed at school.
KHS EXAMINATION RULES
A learner may not be in possession of a cell phone while writing exams. No cell phones al-
lowed at school. No smart watches are allowed either.

Learners may not ask for assistance from other learners, nor should they ask assistance from
invigilators.

If you are caught being dishonest, you will be allowed to continue exam but will be given no
extra time. The incident will be reported to the Irregularity Committee and could lead to you
getting a zero for the exam written. Any disruption will also be reported to the Irregularity
Committee and could result in zero.

 All stationery must be in a clear transparent pencil bag/plastic sleeve.

No eating or drinking allowed in the exam venue.

Learners may not bring their own scrap paper into the exam room, nor should they leave the
exam venue with any paper.

There must be silence during the announcements and no learner may leave until the bell rings
after the session has been completed or unless told so by the invigilators.

Learners who are absent must provide a doctor’s certificate which must be handed in at the
office. It is the subject teacher’s responsibility to follow up and decide on the way forward.
No common papers can be rewritten.

Learners should write in blue pen only.

Leaners should ensure that Name & Surname and Grade is written on answer script and any
Addendum.

Please make sure you are acquainted with the exam timetable and exam rules. Know what
subject you are writing, the date and the venue.

Make sure you understand the procedures of an irregularity as well as the exam rules.
