1. Find the greatest number which on dividing 70 and 50 leaves remainders 1 and 4
respectively.

2. Check whether 5× 𝟕 × 𝟏𝟏 + 𝟕 is a composite number or not?

3. IF H.C.F Of 144 and 180 is expressed in the form of 13m- 16. Find the value of m.

4. The L.C.M of two prime numbers p and q (p> 𝐪) is 221. Find the value of 3p- q

5. Given that √𝟓 is Irrational, prove that 2√𝟓 + 3 is an Irrational number.

6. Show that any number of the form 6n where n∈ N can never end with the digit 0.

7. The traffic lights at three different road crossings change after every 48 sec, 72 sec and
108 sec respectively. If they all change simultaneously at 8:20:00 hrs, when will they again
change simultaneously?

8. What is the HCF of smallest prime number and the smallest composite number?

9. If sum of two numbers is 1215 and their HCF is 81, then find the possible number of
pairs of such numbers.

10. There are 576 boys and 448 girl in a school at to be divided into equal section of
either boys or girls alone. Find the total number of sections thus formed.
(CH-2: POLYNOMIALS)

1. Zeroes of a Quadratic polynomial is in the ratio 4: 5 and their sum is 27. Find the
product of zeroes of this polynomial.

2. If product of the zeroes of kx2+ 41x+42 is 7, then find the zeroes of the polynomial
(k-4) x2 + (k+1) x + 5

3. . If α and β are zeroes of the polynomial p(x) = x² + 4x + 3, find a quadratic


polynomial whose zeroes are α² and β².

4. . Find the quadratic polynomial whose zeroes are -3 and 4.

5. Find the value of k if x² + k x + 6 has (–2) as a zero.

6. If the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial x² + (a + 1) x + b are 2 and –3, find the
values of a and b.

7. Find the zeroes of the polynomial 3x² – √3x – 1 and verify the relationship
between the zeroes and coefficients.

8. The sum and product of zeroes of P(x) = 63x2 – 7x – 9 are S and P respectively.
Find the value of 27S + 14P

9. If α and β are the zeroes of the polynomial f(x) = x² + p x + q, form a polynomial


whose zeroes are (1/α) and (1/β).

10. Just before the morning assembly a teacher of kindergarten school


observes some clouds in the sky and so she cancels the assembly. She
also observes that the clouds are in the shape of a parabola which is
represented by a quadratic polynomial. The geometrical representation of
the clouds is shown in the given figure.
Based on above information, attempt any 4 out of 5 subparts.

Q1. Find the value of k if the pair of equations k x + y = 3 and 3x + (k -


1) y = 2 has no solution.
Q2. Solve the pair of linear equations: 2x + 3y = 12, 5x + 4y = 20 by
substitution method.

Q3. If x = a, y = b is the solution of the equations x - y = 2 and x + y = 4,


find the values of a and b.
