I passed the PMP, you can too + key mindset for the exam
Celebration/Thank you 🎉
Thank God, passed the PMP! 😊 As I reflect, here’s what I think actually works: Step 1) Learn the content (1–2 weeks) Start by familiarizing yourself with the content. If you
don’t have the 35 hours, try a Udemy course: Andrew Ramdayal / David McLachlan (Just pick one. Watch at 1.5x or 2x speed.) If you already have 35 hours, consider a course
like Yassine Tounsi’s 5-hour cram course (Udemy). If you prefer reading, Rita Mulcahy’s PMP Prep Guide is a solid choice. Take notes if possible — or if not, use:…

Just took the exam. Passed. Holy crap, I’m leaving the exam wondering if you were trying to test my knowledge or ability read and interpret the cryptic mess of questions and
answers yall had on there. As a test creator and administer for quite a few years for post secondary testing. What a nightmare and poor excuse of a test. Testing should be to
test knowledge not to see how to decipher deceiving questions and answers. Example: You’re given a pencil and paper for a test. What’s the first thing a project manager…

I don’t want to fail again
PMP Exam
Hi everyone, I took the PMP a couple years ago and I will say that I didn’t study like I should have and failed. I signed up to take it on June 19th, and I feel like it’s going to
happen again. I have no idea why this stuff is just not clicking with me. I have the Study Hall and take practice questions all the time and read from different books/watch
videos and I still get 40-50% on practice exams. I’m a marketing project manager with an MPH so I know the way that I run my projects is way different than the PMI way. I…

The PMP is about eliminating 3 crap answers and its deliberate.
PMP Exam
I passed the PMP and used this mindset to do it. Take this question and top response right here Is the answer correct? Not really but the other are patently wrong. In this way
they can test you on 4 concepts and not just one. This is deliberate and forces you to know far more information than initially thought. Even with the mindset questions - you
can eliminate two and of the two that are left you need to decide which is the least crappy answer. tldr - If you could write the correct answer it would look nothing like the…

Pearson Vue Sample questions
PMP Exam
Has anyone taken the Pearson Vue sample questions - it’s like a set of 25 you can find in the first lesson on study hall? It was helpful to see how the highlighting and strikeout
works but holy crap those questions killed me. I only got 11/25 right. Reviewed the right answers and it felt like the last 3 months of studying yielded nothing. Has anyone
taken the real pmp exam lately as well as so sample questions? Do they compare? I think what I’m most scared about is the pick 2 and pick 3. I always seem to get 1 or 2 righ…

Passed with AT/AT/AT - some observations & my experience
Celebration/Thank you 🎉
Hey everyone, I posted the other day after completing my exam and had PearsonVUE freeze on me while trying to submit the survey that comes up after submitting the exam
itself. Luckily, it didn't seem to affect the timeline of getting my exam results back, as I finished at around 10:30 AM local time on Friday and received my result at 2:04 PM local
time on Saturday. I was shocked to have gotten AT/AT/AT, as I felt pretty unprepared going in. I used Andrew Ramdayal's Udemy course and book, as well as PMI Study Hall…

Passed the PMP in 20 days
PMP Exam
I usually don't post on message boards, but I found the people who posted their experiences on Reddit were essential in helping me pass the PMP. Background: I actually
passed the PMP in 2010, but let it expire due to high financial cost to maintain the certification. However a client required that I have a valid PMP certification which led me to
re-write the exam. When I reviewed the new learning materials, I realised that it has changed considerably since PMBOK 4. The demands of my job were quite high, leaving m…

It's possible to pass in a crunch
PMP Exam
Hi all - I passed the PMP exam last week. Sharing my experience as someone who wanted to get certified quickly, in case there are others in the same boat. I have about 7
years managing projects and contracts on the U.S. government side, with no direct experience in agile, scrum, or hybrid methodologies as is typical in the private sector. Since
leaving the government, I found that many private sector jobs required a PMP. So, I registered to take the exam and purchased a 30-something hour online prep course. I…

Took the exam today!!!
PMP Exam
Update: I passed!!! T/AT/AT - I can't believe it!!! Holy smokes. That was the hardest exam I've ever taken. I'm usually a fast test taker, but I used every single second. I wish I had
more time. I have some PM experience and am a CSM. That didn't really matter for this exam. I studied for a good 2 months few hours a day during the work week using all
the resources mentioned over and over here: Muhammad Rahman, Andrew Ramyadal, David McLaughlin, 3rd Rock's notes, and Study Hall basic. I scored in the high 60s with…

Passed 5/31 with all ATs
Celebration/Thank you 🎉
Can’t believe I’m writing this but I passed my PMP exam this morning. Last week I actually failed the exam and felt completely defeated. I thought I had done enough studying
— I was using a bunch of YouTube videos, some Udemy stuff, and just going through questions on my own. But I clearly wasn’t approaching it right. Then like 4 days ago I
came across a post on here where someone mentioned they passed with the help of Veltril Training. I was skeptical but desperate lol, so I looked them up and ended up…

Hello everyone, I plan on taking my certification test within the next 2-3 months. I just have a couple of questions. I've looked through the website and saw the requirements
3
and it has me a bit discouraged. I have my bachelor's, and I have worked on multiple real projects and even if they weren’t labeled as “projects”. With my background do I
meet the requirements to take the exam? Also, where would be the best place to obtain my 35 PDUs? I read a post and someone recommended David McLachlan, is this wha…

Remember: The PMP is a test of how well you can take the PMP, and nothing else.
PMP Exam
Hi all, passed my PMP exam last week, so gonna rotate off this sub. I wanted to leave some parting advice I haven't seen repeated often here:
The PMP exam is a test of how well you can take the PMP exam.
Once you realize this test (and the SAT, and the ACT, and all certication exams, and virtually all standardized tests) are just a test of how well you can take that test, you can…
