INSTALLATION DSPSS

Unloading

These units are designed for overhead rigging. For proper unloading and handling, a suitable crane is
needed. Use wear flex slings. All units are supplied with lifting lugs on base side. Spreader bars should
be used to keep cables or slings clear from the unit side to avoid damage to unit frame.

Operating space

When installing the unit consider the following points:

1. Foundation should be made of flat-leveled concrete/steel stand.

2. Minimum free space on both side of the unit for service and maintenance.
3. Minimum free space beside the condenser coil.
4. Free space of not less than 3 m above the condenser fan should be available to prevent air short-
circuting.
5. Once the unit is in place, check again that the unit is leveled.

Duct Connection
A discharge duct may be connected directly to the flanged outlet of the unit or the unit’s collar.
Duct construction must allow unit to operate within external static pressure limits as provided in
product literature. Do not restrict unit outlet unnecessarily, avoid abrupt changes in size and/or
direction of duct, to maintain unit performance. Insulate duct-work as required.

Drain Connection
All units are provided with drain for evaporator coil. This drain must be trapped and connected to
the nearest floor drain, with pipe size not less than drain connection pipe size.

Trap depth should not be less than 1.5 times total static air pressure from the drain
connection size.

Field electrical connection

The unit is provided with an electrical inlet to supply the unit with the specified power rating. By
referring to the nameplate, you can check the ampere rating for the unit voltage supply and operating
frequency.

The correct recommended main cable size should be selected according to the local
electrical code

Site Commissioning Requirements

A suitable amount of space should be available around the unit.
Ensure that a free stream of air across the condenser is available without any obstacles.
A vibration isolator should be available under the unit, to minimize transmittal of vibration to
the structure.
Ensure that no packing materials or any other left over objects are available around
the condenser coil.
Ensure that the unit is leveled with the ground. This is a very important step to
ensure proper drainage and operation.

Unit Site Storage

If the unit will not be installed immediately upon its arrival on site, ensure the following:
1.Keep the unit in a safe area, away from the construction site in order to maintain the integrity of
the unit.
2.Keep the protective packing of the unit until it is finally installed. If the packing is torn
or lost, protective covering should be provided to avoid subjecting the unit to site and weather
conditions, and manipulation.
