mean of 5.
(a) Find the probability that less than 6 jumpers are sold at the online shop on a particular day.
(b) It is known that the numbers of jumpers sold at the online shop on any two days are
independent.
(i) Find the probability that from 1st July to 5th July, the first day with less than 6
jumpers sold occurs before 5th July.
(ii) Find the probability that there are more than 4 jumpers sold in total on two randomly
selected days.

3. The time taken by Brian to swim 50 m follows a normal distribution with a mean of 48 seconds
and a standard deviation of  seconds. If a time record of Brian to swim 50 m is selected at
random, the probability for the time taken in the record lying between 45 seconds and 51 seconds

9. A company runs a party room rental business. The number of rental orders received by the
company on each Sunday follows a Poisson distribution with a mean of 3. A Sunday is considered
as a good business day if at least 3 rental orders received by the company on that day.
(a) Find the probability that a certain Sunday is a good business day. (2 marks)
(b) Find the probability that, out of 6 randomly selected Sundays, there are at least 4 good

(c) Suppose one party room is rented out in each order. The following table shows the probability
