Student Learning Outcomes


At the end of this lesson students will be able to:

 Identify what percentage is?


 Simplify basic problems of percentage

Method: ‘Use Visuals’ because teacher will demonstrate percentage with examples, and
diagrams.
Required Materials
Chalk, board, mathematics book, worksheets

Motivational Activity (5 minutes)

 In this activity teacher will tell story of real life in order to bring students towards topic.
 Story of a boy and a shopkeeper.

Introductory Activity (10 minutes)

 In this activity teacher will ask students some questions about percentage in order to
check their prior knowledge?
 What is percentage? Where it is used? Some examples?
 Then he will explain to them with real life examples.

Lecture-cum Demonstration Activity (15 minutes)

 In this activity teacher will explain further what is percentage?


 And he will do some basic problems of percentage on the board?
 Note he will explain with the help of diagram and examples.
 Note: teacher will use mathematics book of 7th class.
Group Activity (10 minutes)

 In this activity teacher will make students sit in pairs and do some problems of
percentage from the book.
 Teacher will move in the class, observe and help students where it is needed.

Assessment Activity (10 minutes)

 In this activity teacher will give students worksheets of percentage to solve individually.
