VALLEY SOCIAL CLUB NEWSLETTER FOR APRIL 2012
VOLUME 32, ISSUE 4 WWW.BHCARE.ORG
FROM THE PRESIDENT BY JULIANNE M.
Hello to the Valley Social Club members. Happy spring to all. Im so glad the winter that never was is over. Im so glad that mother nature took it easy on us and did not hit us with another hard winter. My flowers are all coming up and Im working almost every day in the garden. Its hard work at my age but the reward is worth the effort. I wanted to remind everyone that we moved the club meetings to the second Tuesday of every month. At 1:00pm. We use this meeting to plan activities so this meeting is not to be missed. We are planning lots of actives for the rest of spring and into the summer so watch your calendars and newsletters for updates. I hope to see you so.
WORDS FROM THE V.P. CAROL B.
Hi all you social club members. I hope all of you are well and are looking forward to spring. I know Im excited about Easter. I hope everyone had a good St. Patrick's day. Im still full from the big meal we had at the club. We are staying busy at the club. Even on Saturdays. Me and Julianne and some other folks have been going to local thrift stores and tag sales and usually finish off the day by going out for coffee. We always have a great day. We are also doing good for others at the club. Last month we took part in a bowl a thon for VSAACs anti domestic violence program. I invite members of the club to take part in all the clubs great activities.

APRIL BIRHTDAYS
Happy birthday to all those born in April
VALLEY BOWL A THON BY JOHN L I recently went to Umbrellas bowl-a-thon back in March. We met up with our sister club from Branford. It was good to be able to help Umbrella. We all had a real good time and some of us turned out to be good bowlers. We are always busy at the club.

SPORTING NEWS BY MIKE L.
Hi, I am a new member of the club and one of the things that I really like about it here is the pool playing. There always seems to be a game going on. Last month the club went to the Milford Social Club for a pool tournament. We had a lot of fun and even better we won. This month we have a tourney in Branford. Im sure we will have as much fun and the last one. Its been fun being a member of the club.
LAUGH YOGA BY JOHN L.
I went to An exercise program in Middlefield called Laugh Yoga. Was a delightful method to help people cope with the stresses of life. Their therapy is that you have to laugh at everything that troubles you and it will make things easier. This was a good thing to learn.
I saw you toss the kites on high and blow the birds about the sky and all around. I heard you pass like ladies skirts across the grass. O wind a blowing all day long O wind that surges so loud a song. By Robert Lewis Stevenson Submitted By Robert S.

We also went to a benefit bowl a thon to raise money for the Umbrella program. We had pizza and thank you T-shirts. This was also a great time and it helps people too. Gayle A
PEER FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
I went to the Peer Family meeting last month. They had a party there and the food was good. They served pirogue which is my favorite. There was a lot of people and they talked about things. I met some new friends and they said they liked the food too. By Judy R.
THE RAFFLE CENTER OF THE WORLD BY JULIANNE M.
Recently the club received a donation of beautiful blankets which the club decided to put up for a fundraising raffle. The blankets were very popular and we made money. The money will go towards a Vietnam War Memorial plague.
