Instructions to students for End Term Examination May 2025-Online Mode

Exam Paper Pattern- Subjective

1. To attempt the examination, log in to your UMS Dashboard and click on the 'MyClass' icon or
use the URL: myclass.lpu.in to approach the platform for the test.

2. Login credentials: The username for the test is your registration number/VID and password is
the same as that of the UMS.

3. Pattern of Examination: The examination shall have 5 Subjective questions in the following
pattern:-

a. All questions shall be compulsory.
b. The total duration of the examination shall be 2 hours (120 minutes).
c. Each question shall be of 10 marks.

4. Conduct of Examination:

a. All questions shall be displayed to the student in the sequential order (i.e. Q.
No. 1 followed by Q. No. 2 followed by Q. No. 3 so on). The display shall be one way
which means that the student won’t be able to come back to any previous question.
This means that all questions shall be displayed to the student in uni-directional order.
However, in case the student does not want to attempt a question the student can skip
the question by clicking the next button but in such a case at any later stage the student
won’t be able to come back to that skipped question.
b. The total duration of examination shall be 2 Hours (120 minutes, approximately 20
minutes to attempt each question and 4 minutes to upload the photograph of the answer
sheet for each question).
c. Timer of 24 minutes will be displayed on the screen for each question so that the student
can keep track of the same.
d. After completion of the stipulated time (24 minutes) allocated for a question or after
successfully attempting the question and clicking on “Next” button, the student shall be
automatically moved to the next question.
e. Time saved (from the stipulated time of 24 minutes) for a previous question shall
not be available for the upcoming questions.
f. The student should be presentably attired while appearing for exam.
g. Keep the web cam switched on during the complete duration of exam.
h. Do not lie down on the sofa or bed. Sit straight on a table/chair.
Once the student has reached the next question the student shall not be able to move to the
previous question.
5. The student can attempt the Examination through any of the following two modes:
The student can attempt through either of the two modes:
Mode1: Through Laptop/Desktop
Mode 2: Smart Phone (By using the browser of the smart phone)

However, it is advisable that the student attempts the Examination through Mode 1 i.e.
Laptop/Desktop. This will give optimum opportunity to the student to properly view the
questions (which may include diagrams/images/case studies etc. requiring scrolling).

6. Requirements for attempting Examination: Find below the list of certain basic infrastructure
requirements for attempting the examination.
a. Laptop/Desktop with minimum 4GB RAM.
b. Uninterrupted Active Internet connection of 2-3 Mbps speed. The students are advised to have also
provisions for a backup internet connection.
c. For students attempting through smart phone should use smart phones with minimum 2GB RAM.
d. Charging facility along with electricity backup for the duration of examination.
e. Working webcam of good resolution.
f. Access to camera and microphone on device.
g. Basic examination stationery including pen, pencil, A4 size sheets, calculator, water bottle etc.
h. An isolated place with no distraction and proper lighting in the examination area.
g. When you click on “OPEN TEST” the browser will need permission for the environment test by
Audio, Webcam and Microphone. It is mandatory to give permission to audio, webcam and
microphone for the start of examination.
7. For writing the answers on A4 Sheets use the following format.

Write all the information given in the template on each page of the answer sheet in your own
handwriting.

Note: You can use maximum of 4 pages (one -sided) for attempting one answer.

Please note the following with respect to the sample answer sheet shown above:

A) Each Page should contain the necessary information related to exam such as Registration
Number, Exam Date, Exam Time, Course Code, Question Number, and Page Number in the
format mentioned in the sample answer sheet shown.
B) Page-1 of your answer must contain the question statement. However, the question statement
need not be mentioned on the subsequent pages such as page 2, 3, 4.
C) Page number should be written in format xx of yy where xx is the current page number and yy
is the total number of pages used to answer the question. For instance, if you are writing page
number on the 2nd (xx) page of your answer and there are total 4 (yy) pages that have been
used to answer the current question than your page number should be 2 of 3 and all the page
numbers shall look like -Page 1 of 4, page 2 of 4, page 3 of 4 and page 4 of 4. Page Numbering
should be done after writing the complete answer.
D) You must sign at the bottom of every page of your answer sheet.

Capture the individual image of your answer sheets one by one using mobile phone. Therefore, if you
have written your answer in 3 pages for a question, you must click three images, 1 for each page of
answer sheet.
Once you have clicked the images of your answer sheet, upload these images in the portal.

Note: After uploading the images, ensure that the answer sheet images are clear without any blur and
are easily readable. Blur/Unclear answer sheet image shall not be evaluated.

8. Proctoring of Examination: The examination to be conducted shall be proctored and there


shall be continuous monitoring of candidates appearing in the examination by allocated faculty
members. The faculty members shall continuously view the allocated students for invigilation for
the complete duration of the Examination. In this regard the students shall ensure the following:

a. The webcam of the student is on and sending images during the complete duration of the
examination failing which the student shall be disqualified from the examination and shall not
be allowed to continue his/her examination.
b. In case the student attempts to navigate away from the examination window, the
examination of the student shall be auto terminated.
c . In case a student is found using any unfair means during the examination by the proctor
including calling, messaging, using any other device the same shall be treated as an unfair
means case and necessary disciplinary action shall be taken.
d. In case the student is found misbehaving with proctoring f aculty or seeking any
unnecessary help, such a student shall be disqualified from the examination.
e. If the AI-based examination software detects another person in the room during the exam, an
immediate alert will be sent to the proctor and an Unfair Means Case (UMC) will be registered
against the student.
f. The student's activity will be continuously recorded during the examination. If, at any later
stage, a student is found using any unfair means in the exam recording, Unfair Means Case
(UMC) will be registered against him/her.

9. All students are strictly warned to refrain from using any unfair means during the online examination.
If any student is found cheating, copying from any online/offline sources or indulging in use of any
prohibited/unfair means, then strict penal action will be taken.

10. The online examination software is AI-based and continuously captures your screen activity
during the examination. If you navigate away from the examination window or engage in any form of
malpractice, an Unfair Means Case (UMC) case will be registered against the student immediately.

online examination platform via a separate UMS announcement. Please ensure you watch these
videos before appearing for the exam on LPU MyClass.
