Falcons Clinical Services (FCS) Limited is a new private healthcare clinic set to open soon in
Lilongwe, Area 25. Our mission, "Your Health, Our Priority" drives us to provide
compassionate, high-quality medical care to our community. We aim to become Malawi’s most
trusted and reliable healthcare provider (vision) by focusing on patient-centred services. We are
currently recruiting for the following positions: Clinical Officer, Nursing Midwifery
Technician, Receptionist, and Security Guard. Successful candidates will join a dedicated

beginning. The following are position details;

Job Title: Clinical Officer

Reports To: Executive Director

Job Summary:

The Clinical Officer will be responsible for providing primary healthcare services, diagnosing
and treating patients, prescribing medications, and ensuring quality patient care in a clinic
setting. The role involves working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver
effective medical care and promote public health.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care & Diagnosis:


• Conduct medical examinations, take patient histories, and assess symptoms.

• Diagnose and manage common illnesses, infections, and injuries.


• Prescribe and administer appropriate medications and treatments.
• Request and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Refer patients to specialists when necessary.

2. Treatment & Procedures:


• Perform minor surgical procedures such as wound suturing, incision and drainage, and
abscess management.
• Manage chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and asthma.
3. Emergency & First Aid Care:
• Provide first aid and emergency medical interventions for trauma and acute
conditions.
• Stabilize critically ill patients before referral to higher-level facilities.

4. Administrative Duties:
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Ensure compliance with medical standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in clinic meetings, case discussions, and continuous medical education.
• Assist in stock management of medicines and medical supplies.

5. Health Promotion & Counselling:


• Educate patients on disease prevention, lifestyle changes, and proper medication use.
• Counsel individuals on reproductive health, nutrition, and mental health concerns.

Qualifications & Requirements:


• Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution.
• Registered with Medical Council of Malawi and MUST possess a valid private
practicing license
• At least 1–3 years of experience in a clinical setting (private clinic experience is an
added advantage).
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Good communication, empathy, and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment & Conditions:


• Fast-paced outpatient clinic setting.
• May require working in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• May involve handling emergency cases and working under pressure.

Job title: Nursing Midwifery Technician

Reporting to: Clinic In-charge

Job Summary

The Nursing Midwifery Technician will play a critical role in delivering high-quality nursing
and midwifery care to patients. This position involves direct patient care, adherence to clinical
protocols, infection control, and active participation in clinic operations. The ideal candidate
will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Care:
• Provide comprehensive nursing and midwifery care to patients in compliance with
professional standards.
• Accurately and promptly execute doctors’ orders while ensuring patient safety.
• Administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations correctly and document all
procedures.
• Offer emergency care and first aid when required.

2. Patient & Family Support:


• Educate patients and their families on healthcare, wellness, and preventive measures.
• Maintain a compassionate and professional approach to patient interactions.

3. Infection Prevention & Quality Assurance:


• Strictly adhere to infection prevention and control protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

4. Administrative & Operational Duties:


• Assist in binning, billing, and documentation of services rendered.
• Manage and reconcile medical stock cards daily to ensure proper inventory control.
• Compile clinic reports and submit them to management in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient
care.

5. Compliance & Additional Duties:


• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Educational qualifications and experience

• Must have a College Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized Institution
• Must be currently registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
• Must be computer literate and have at least two years relevant post qualification
experience in a busy clinic environment
• Must be willing to work odd hours.

Requisite knowledge, abilities and skill

• Good command of English, Chichewa or/and fluency in other Malawian local


languages
• Must be a self-starter, pro-active and honest
• Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.

Job Title: Receptionist


Reporting to: Clinic In-Charge

Job Summary

The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a
welcoming and efficient clinic experience. This role involves patient registration, financial
transactions, administrative support, and maintaining a clean, organized front desk area. The
ideal candidate will be courteous, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Registration & Front Desk Management:
• Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing a professional and friendly first
impression.
• Register new patients accurately, verifying personal and insurance details.
• Schedule appointments, manage walk-ins, and maintain an organized appointment
system.
• Direct patients to appropriate departments and assist with wayfinding.

2. Financial Transactions & Billing Support:


• Collect consultation fees, service charges, and other payments from patients.
• Issue receipts and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
• Handle billing inquiries, explain payment options, and assist with payment plans if
applicable.
• Prepare daily financial reports and submit them to management.
• Ensure the security of cash and financial documents at all times.

3. Administrative & Clinic Support:


• Maintain a clean, tidy, and professional reception area.
• Address patient complaints promptly or escalate them to the relevant authority.
• Assist the nursing team with basic administrative tasks as needed.
• Manage incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to staff.

4. Compliance & Additional Duties:


• Uphold patient confidentiality and data protection policies.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Educational qualifications and experience

• Must have MSCE certificate with a at least a credit in English.


• Those with a diploma will have added advantage.
• At least one years’ work experience in a related role.

Requisite knowledge, abilities and skill

• Good command of English, Chichewa or/and fluency in other Malawian local


languages
• Must be a self-starter, pro-active and honest.
• Must be computer literate

Job Title: Security Guard


Reporting to: Clinic In-Charge

Job Summary

The Security Guard will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for
patients, staff, visitors, and clinic property. This role involves monitoring premises, controlling
access, preventing theft or damage, and ensuring orderly operations within the clinic. The ideal
candidate will be vigilant, responsible, and possess strong observational skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Security & Surveillance:


• Patrol clinic premises regularly to deter and detect security threats.
• Secure all clinic buildings, vehicles, equipment, and property against theft or
vandalism.
• Control traffic flow at the main gate and within the clinic premises.

2. Access Control & Visitor Management:

• Attending to visitors at point of entry into clinic premises


• Register vehicles and motorbikes accessing the clinic parking area.

3. Incident Reporting & Emergency Response:


• Report security breaches, defects, or suspicious activities to the Clinic In-Charge
immediately.
• Prepare detailed incident reports for any security-related occurrences.
• Respond to emergencies (e.g., fire, accidents) and assist with evacuation if necessary.
• Report water leaks, electrical faults, or maintenance issues to the Clinic In-Charge.

4. Equipment & Facility Maintenance:


• Ensure proper handling and security of clinic tools and equipment.
• Conduct proper handover/takeover of duty and property with fellow security staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the clinic’s exterior premises (e.g., sweeping, waste removal).

5. Additional Duties:
• Assist in crowd control during peak hours or emergencies.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Educational Qualifications & Experience


• Minimum MSCE or equivalent.
• Certificate in Security Training or related field is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience as a security guard (healthcare setting preferred).
• Basic knowledge of security protocols and emergency procedures.

Required Skills & Competencies


• Alertness: Keen observation skills and ability to detect potential risks.
• Integrity: Trustworthy and reliable in handling security matters.
• Communication: Ability to report incidents clearly in English and Chichewa.
• Physical Fitness: Capable of standing for long hours and patrolling premises.
• Teamwork: Cooperates with clinic staff and fellow security personnel.
