Quick-connecting two or more RAMFAN UB20 axial
blowers in series increases airflow up to 50%
when blowing through long and windy duct runs.
Designed for duct runs up to 25’/7.6m, the UB20
airflow significantly drops when blowing through
more than 75’/22.9m of duct or when confronted
with multiple turns in the duct.

high-low control. Pulse width modulation extends
battery life up to 10 hours in low setting yet gives a

Manhole Entry Device
The M.E.D. allows workers to enter and exit small
man-size openings while maintaining continuous
ventilation. Without such a device, duct fills the
manhole opening, preventing rapid entry and exit.
Tightly integrated into the UB-line of confined
space ventilation equipment, RAMFAN’s M.E.D. is
quick to assemble and the new swiveling elbow
makes duct alignment easy.
Changing its cross-section from circular to elliptical
and back to circular minimizes loss and optimizes
airflow into a confined space, while providing
adequate room for the worker to enter and exit

The Explosion Proof Rating – Recognized Worldwide: We have designed and manufactured a line
of fans specifically for use in Explosive Atmospheres to meet the standards specified by the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC, which
went into effect on March 1, 1996 and applies to all manufacturers worldwide.
This directive applies to all electrical equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres; defined as gas, vapor or mist
and are capable of causing an explosion through their own potential sources of ignition.
All RAMFAN Explosion Proof Blowers and Exhausters have been certified by UL to bear the ATEX Mark and have been
tested to the standards set forth in the ATEX Directive. Our certification covers the whole unit: the motor, the connecting
cable, the fan blade terminal box, the power cable and the plugs.

Manhole Entry Device
The Intrinsically Safe UB20xx System utilizes high
strength polymers with an anti-static housing
designed to discharge static build-up safely. The
M.E.D. allows workers to enter and exit small
man-size openings while maintaining continuous
ventilation. Without such a device, duct fills the
manhole opening, preventing rapid entry and exit.
Tightly integrated into the UB-line of confined
space ventilation equipment, RAMFAN’s M.E.D. is
quick to assemble and the new swiveling elbow
makes duct alignment easy.
Changing its cross-section from circular to elliptical
and back to circular minimizes loss and optimizes
airflow into a confined space, while providing Order #
adequate room for the worker to enter and exit EF7015-MEDXX 115V/60Hz Blower with 15’/4.6m and 5’/1.5m Duct
unimpeded. The rugged polyethylene construction
EF8015-MEDXX 220V/60Hz Blower with 15’/4.6m and 5’/1.5m Duct
endures heavy, negligent use and will last for years.
Comprised of three components, the M.E.D.,

RAMFAN’s fire fighting PPV Series outperforms larger blowers in their class with their cast aluminum Turbo blades that are
precision balanced to maximize airflow. These PPV blowers have proven to be effective in controlling airborne contaminates,
replacing interior air, removing heat and supplementing fixed ventilation systems. By pressurizing properly and controlling the
resultant flow path, these changes occur very rapidly. This is accomplished by using these specialized blowers with the power
and velocity to pressurize the interior of a structure or building.

 Airflow Ratings
Comparing the CFM performance ratings of PPV blowers can be difficult.
For this reason, Euramco Safety adopted the measuring techniques of Air
Movement & Control Association Standard 240.

RAMFAN turbo blowers were introduced in 1990 and are used by hundreds of
departments and brigades throughout the world. RAMFAN was instrumental in the
standardization of positive pressure airflow testing and fully supports the
implementation of AMCA 211 test specifications.

Ratings are developed in ideal test conditions and are not a guarantee of actual performance.
Entrained air is a large component of PPV airflow and can vary with the size of the entrance and
exit openings; actual airflow can be significantly different.

To the best of our knowledge no testing standard exists, other than Standard 240 of the Air Movement and
Control Association (AMCA), that measures the airflow in a manner consistent with the deployment of blowers
under fire ground situations. Other non-accredited organizations have experimented, but none with published
standards or an active certification program.

AMCA requires the manufacturer to make a literature sheet that

contains specific data about the blower and the blower test.
This piece of literature is approved by AMCA to bear their trade
marked seal. If the literature does not bear the trademark seal on
the very same page as the test numbers then the information has
not been approved by AMCA.

Why Turbo Technology?

Blower output or CFM is only half the story. A faster, more
penetrating FORCE of air means faster cooling and clearance of
dangerous smoke and toxic gas. Turbo blowers accelerate the
airflow to much greater velocities than conventional propeller fans.
The kind of velocity that will churn and upset the thermal balance of an
involved structure dropping the heat and mixing it with cool outside air
and stripping the smoke off the ceiling and propelling it out.

A more focused airflow shape penetrates deeply into layers of super-heated gas, disturbing stratification, dropping temperature

The turbo fan blade is modeled after a modern jet engine
compressor. The RAMFAN design is made specifically for

short, twisted blades on a large diameter hub means higher
