your folder and then click send. It must say upload successful. If it does not say upload

You serve on the ICT Committee at your school. ICT (Information and
Communications Technology) is an umbrella term that includes any
communication device or application, encompassing: radio, television,
cellular phones, computer and network hardware and software, satellite
systems and so on, as well as the various services and applications associated with them, such as
videoconferencing and distance learning.
Answer the ICT related questions that follow.
4.1 Provide ONE advantages of the use of ICTs at your school. Remember to supply

PRACTICAL
SCENARIO
You are busy investigating things that you and your friends can do in Clarens in the Eastern Free
State. You plan a weekend trip to this beautiful town.
QUESTION 1 – Word processing
Open the document called 1Clarens.
1.1 Apply WordArt to the main heading of the document: ‘THIS IS CLARENS’. (1)
1.1.1 Change the font size of the text to 16. (1)
1.1.2 Apply the ‘Cascade Up’ style to the WordArt heading. (1)
1.1.2 Ensure that the WordArt text displays as part of the image as shown below:

NOTE: The colour and the horizontal alignment of the WordArt text do not
matter.
1.2 Apply a first line indent of 1.5 cm to the paragraph starting with the text ‘Clarens, a small
town …’ and ending with the text ‘… and wedding avenues’. (2)
1.3 Adjust the indents in the numbered paragraphs headings so that the distance between the
number and the text is 0.75 cm.

1.4 Find the word ‘Clarens’ (in lowercase) throughout in the document and replace it with the
word ‘Clarens’ in a red colour font. (2)
1.5 Customize the bullets underneath the ‘OTHER THINGS TO DO’ paragraph with the image
which is saved as 1Clarens in your data folder. (1)
1.6 Go to page 2 of the document. Format the text starting with ‘Dinosaurs are a …’ and ending
with the text ‘… the Free State’ to two columns with or without a line between the columns.

Ensure that the sentence starting with ‘A visit to …’ (highlighted in a greenish colour) starts at
the top of the second column.

1.7 Go to the paragraph ‘ARE YOU INTERESTED?’ and format the form controls in the table as
follows:

uppercase. (1)

1.7.2 Remove the ‘12’ option that appears in the drop-down field next to the text ‘GRADE’
table cell. (1)
1.7.3 The checkbox which is displayed in the cell to the right of the ‘DO YOU LIKE
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES’ cell should be checked. Change accordingly.

1.8 Add a suitable break before the heading ‘ARE YOU INTERESTED’, highlighted in a pinkish
colour, and format this page and the page on which the ‘RESOURCES’ appear to the

QUESTION 2 – Spreadsheet and Integration
You created a friend list in your spreadsheet program to capture the details of your friends who are
interested in visiting Clarens. The cost per person is displayed in this spreadsheet. (Your sister stay in
Clarens and they will not charge accommodation fees should you decide to break away to Clarens!)
You will need the following files to do this question: 2Friends_Vriende, 2Notices_Kennisgewings
and 2Stay_Bly.
2.1 Open the 2Friends_Vriende document.
2.1.1 Format the amounts in columns E and F so that all amounts are displayed as
shown below: (1)
2.1.2 Use conditional formatting in column D so that all cells containing a ‘3’ will be filled
with a yellow colour. (2)
2.1.3 Use a function in cell C20 to calculate the number of Grade 12 learners in your
friend list. (3)
2.1.4 Use a function in cell C21 to calculate the second highest amount payable in
column F. (3)
2.1.5 One of your friends did not indicate the grade in which he is. Use a function and
calculate in cell F21 the number of learners that did not indicate the grade in which
he/she is. (2)
2.2 Open the document saved as 2Notices_Kennisgewings.
2.2.1 Insert today’s date as a field in the document. The place where the date should be
inserted is highlighted in a yellow colour. (1)
The format of the date should be dddd, dd MMMM yyyy. (1)
2.2.2 Now work in the table in the document.
Remove the third column from the left from the table. (1)
Remove ‘Gwenneth Strauss’ from the table. She cannot join anymore.
Sort the table according to the grades of your friends. (Refer to the screenshot (1)

of the table on the next page.)
Work in the last cell in the table. This cell is filled with an orange colour. Use a (1)
feature of your word processor to calculate the average number of nights that
you and your friends will sleep over. This number should be rounded to the
nearest integer.

2.3 Save the 2Stay_Bly file as a .tif file. (1)

QUESTION 3 – Database
You want to make some changes to a database which has information about your friends who will join
you to Clarens.
Open the 3Bookings_Besprekings database. The DinosaurHunting table contains data of
bookings that you made for the outing.
3.1 Work in the DinosaurHunting table.
3.1.1 Set the most appropriate field as the primary key field. (1)
3.1.2 Format the Name and Surname field to capital letters. (1)
3.1.3 The data type of ONE of the fields is incorrect. Decide which field this is and
rectify the data type (2)
3.1.4 Set the default value of the Grade field at 11. (1)
3.1.5 Make use of a drop down list in the Gender field to ensure that only ‘Male’ or
‘Female’ appears in this new field. (1)
3.1.6 Use a validation rule in the Age field so that no learner older than 19 years
will be allowed to join the Dinosaur Hunt. (1)
3.1.7 Add a suitable validation text to the validation rule that you created in number
3.1.6. (1)
