productive class environment where each learner maximizes on gaining more knowledge within
forty minutes lesson time.
Proper time management
Balancing tasks given by the cooperating teachers ,attending classes and conducting lessons
within the stipulated time taught me to allocate time effectively and prioritize tasks based on
impiortance and urgency

This refers to abiliy to provide timely and constructive feedback on students work helping them
understand their progress and areas for improvement.Throught the practicum period I managed
to mark a lot of books and examinationsand this improved my ability to access and guide
learners effectively.
Lesson delivery
Through actual teaching especially of remedial lessons I practiced adopting my teaching
methodsto suit different learning styles ,engaging students and conveying complex content cleary
Attention to details
During preparation of teaching and learning materials I was keen on all the details .i enhanced
this skill through careful attention to students progress ,needs and behaviourensuring nothing
was overlooked.
Analytical skills
In July I assisted in marking and recording of the Kenya National Examination Council projects
marks .This helped me gain analytical skills as through this I could identify treads in the
performance of the students .Such skills can help one develop analytical thinking and decision
making based on the data analyzed.

Intergration of ICT in teaching and learning
The cooperating teachers introduced me to ICT lessons whereby digital devices such as
projectors laptops and tablets were used in learning .This enhanced learners engagement and
understanding .Such lessons are very interesting and makes learning to be a fun activity.
7.0 CHALLENGES DURING THE PRACTICUM PERIOD
School not fully understanding the nature of the teaching practicum
The school did not fully embrace the teaching practicum which required the student teacher to
observe only and not be left in class alone so they ended up allocating some lessons as they
argued that one could not only observe for that long period of time.
Shortage of teachers in the school
In my teaching practicumschool there was a shortage of teachers and support staff which
required one to go an extra mile in ensuring the students learn are assessed and get feedback in
time.
8.0 SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT
I would recommend that the School of Education would fully explain to the teaching practicum
schools what it should really entail since its anew way of teaching student teacher.i recommend
that the institution should organize a training to the teaching practice schools on how to conduct
the teaching practicum prior to students going there.
I would recommend that the school administration should try to employ some BOM teachers
before the government sorts out the issue of shortage of teachers in junior secondary school to
create aconducive environment for the students ang the student teachers.
9.0 CONCLUSION
In conclusion my teaching practicum have been an invaluable experience and has helped me
enhance my pedagogical skills and understand a lot of classroom dynamics. The opportunity to
engage with students ,collaborate with fellow educators and adopt to various teaching
strategies .I am committed to applying the insights gained during this teaching practicum to my
future teaching endeavors.
