About HIMSR
Established in 2012 under the aegis of Jamia Hamdard, the Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and
Research (HIMSR) has rapidly emerged as a premier institution for medical education and healthcare
services in India. Located in the capital city of New Delhi, HIMSR combines the rich legacy of Hakim
Abdul Hameed's vision for blending traditional and modern medical education, providing an ideal
environment for nurturing future healthcare leaders.
Recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated with Jamia Hamdard (a
deemed-to-be university under the Ministry of Education, Government of India), HIMSR offers an
MBBS program with an intake of 150 students annually, along with postgraduate programs in various
specialties. The institution integrates cutting-edge academic learning with compassionate clinical care
through its attached HAH Centenary Hospital, a 700+ bedded tertiary care facility.
HIMSR is consistently ranked among the top medical colleges in India by reputed national ranking

The institute is supported by 710 bedded teaching Hakeem Abdul Hameed Centenary Hospital
(HAHCH). This is in conformity to National Medical Commission guidelines.
Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & family of institutions is the great leap forward in line with
the vision of the founders of Hamdard and in fulfilling the dream of Hakeem Abdul Hameed to create
an institute to cater to health education in general and providing affordable healthcare to suffering
population living in the vicinity of the institution (South Delhi). It is in conformity with the philosophy
of Hamdard "Compassion, Concern, Care and sharing of pain."
The Institute, over the Years, has developed excellent organizational structure through its statutory and
non-statutory authorities resulting in establishment of a well-regulated administrative machinery and
achievement of excellence in academic functioning and medical research and providing excellent
medical care to the patients. Just to give a glimpse of the services rendered by the hospital to the needy
patients, nearly 477800 patients were provided consultation and treatment in the outpatient departments
in the year 2024-25. Out of these 44361 patients were admitted as indoor patients.
The faculty of HIMSR is carefully selected by national level experts through an interview process
ensuring excellent quality of the teachers. The teaching aids are contemporary, networked, interactive
and upgradable. At HIMSR, great emphasis is put on conducting research and publishing scientific
papers by the faculty. Regular up-gradation of professional knowledge is facilitated by regular clinical
meetings, seminars, symposia etc.

Programs of Study, Eligibility and Selection Process
DURATION OF STUDY
Each student shall undergo a period of study extending over 4½ (Four & a half) academic Years
followed by 1 (one) year compulsory rotating Internship.
Note- There is no management Quota/Seats in Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research,
all seats (100%) are pooled in All India Quota (AIQ) for Deemed to be Universities and are allotted
by NEET-UG Counseling on the basis of merit by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of
DGHS, GOI for MBBS. Institute has no role in counseling and allotment of any seat.
As per Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS),
GOI, NEET UG- 2025 merit list of respective categories.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION :
The Selected candidates have to undergo medical examination (Charges to be paid by the candidates)
by a Medical Board setup by the HIMSR, consisting of faculty members of the Institute. If, in the
assessment of the Medical Board a candidate is found medically unfit, the information will be shared
with Medical Counseling Committee/ DGHS and decision of the Medical Counseling Committee/
DGHS in this regard shall be final.
RAGGING:
(A) Ragging is a serious offence that is totally prohibited in HIMSR & HAHC Hospital.
(B) Anyone found guilty of ragging or abetting ragging, whether actively or passively, or being a part
of a conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished in accordance with regulations of
National Medical Commission (Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging in Medical Colleges and
Institutions) Regulations, 2021 as well as under the provisions of any penal law for the time being
in force.

NOTE:
3. Security amount deposited with Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will not be
adjusted in HIMSR fee. The same shall be refunded by the MCC to the candidate
directly.
4. The above fee may be revised as per NMC, DGHS, MoHFW, GOI, Delhi High Court
& Honorable Supreme Court of India, directives as and when applicable.
MODE OF PAYMENT

Note- Fee should be submitted in Demand Draft only. To avoid any inconvenience Indian
candidates are advised to submit through Demand Draft. NRI Candidates are also required to
pay fee only through demand draft.
The admitted student shall execute a Bond/Affidavit to undertake payment of full course fee in
the event of discontinuation of the course (At Any Stage).
All the fees will be paid through online or Bank Demand Draft in favor of “Hamdard Institute
of Medical Sciences & Research” payable at New Delhi.
Tuition fee will be charged full amount annually for the MBBS course & no part payments will
be accepted.
The Annual course fee for MBBS should be deposited by the 31st day of July every year of the
academic session. In case of failure to do so, the student shall be liable to pay fine of 1%/Month
or part thereof for a maximum period of 3 Months and thereafter administration may take other
necessary action.
Full annual fee will be charged for MBBS course for 4.5 year.
The interns of MBBS shall be paid stipend at applicable rates for one year.

MODE OF PAYMENT
Note- Fee should be submitted SINGLE Demand Draft only. To avoid any inconvenience
Indian/NRI candidates are advised to submit through Demand Draft.
FEE RULES:
The admitted student shall execute a Bond/Affidavit to undertake payment of full course fee in
the event of discontinuation of the course (At Any Stage).
The course fee should be submitted in a single online transaction or single demand draft only.
All the fees will be paid through Bank Demand Draft in favor of “Hamdard Institute of Medical
Sciences & Research” payable at New Delhi.
Tuition fee will be charged full amount annually for the MD/MS course & no part payments
will be accepted.
The Annual course fee for MD/MS should be deposited by the 31st day of July every year of
the academic session. In case of failure to do so, the student shall be liable to pay fine of 1%
per Month or part thereof for a maximum period of 3 Months and thereafter administration may
take other necessary action.
Full annual fee will be charged for MD/MS course for 3 Years.
The selected candidates will be paid a stipend of ₹ 80,000 per Month for three Years duration.

NET-JRF/ Individual Fellowship holders/ Project Fellows will be preferred for admissions in Ph.D.
programs.
