CLINICAL DETAILS(HISTO)
Known case of Anemia for evaluation.
A - Small nodule noted over anterosuperior wall of D1
B - Abnormal mucosal appearence with irregular and dilated pits noted in
body of stomach. Biopsy taken to rule out dysplasia.
C - Abnormal mucosa appearance with infective and dilated pits noted in
fundus - To rule out Dysplasia.

Bottle -I: A - Small nodule over D1 biopsy for HPE.
Bottle -II: B - Body of stomach biopsy for HPE.
Bottle -III: C - Fundus of stomach biopsy for HPE.

MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION(HISTO)
A - D1 biopsy: Section show villi lined by enterocytes and goblet cells. No
atypia of lining epithelium. Lamina propria is edematous with moderate
inflammation composed of lymphocytes, plasma cells, eosinophils and focal
lymphoid aggregates. Muscularis is unremarkable. Few lobules of benign

identified.
B - Body of stomach biopsy: Section shows gastric mucosa with foveolae
and glands lined by columnar and mucus cells. With focal intestinal
metaplasia. No dysplasia noted. There is expansion of lamina propria by
inflammatory cells composed of lymphocytes, plasma cells and few
eosinophils. Focal mononulcear cell aggregates. No curved bacilli on surface
and lumen of glands. Muscularis is splayed.
C - Fundus of stomach biopsy: Section shows gastric mucosa with
foveolae and glands lined by columnar and mucus cells. With focal intestinal
metaplasia. No dysplasia noted. There is expansion of lamina propria by
inflammatory cells composed of lymphocytes, plasma cells and few
eosinophils. Focal mononulcear cell aggregates. No curved bacilli on surface
and lumen of glands. Muscularis is splayed.
IMPRESSION(HISTO)
A - D1 biopsy: Brunner gland hyperplasia against a background of
chronic nodular duodenitis.
No evidence of parasites/ granuloma/ dysplasia/ malignancy/ increase in
intraepithelial lymphocytes.
B - Body of stomach biopsy: Chronic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia.
Negative for dysplasia/ malignancy/ curved bacilli.
C - Fundus of stomach biopsy: Chronic gastritis with intestinal
metaplasia.
Negative for dysplasia/ malignancy/ curved bacilli.
Correlate with clinical and endoscopic findings.
