1 GENERAL
This standard, based on EN 10 083-2:2006, specifies the requirements for
quenched and tempered steel. The material is identical to C45 (No.1.0503).

2 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION
The chemical composition shall comply with the specified values of table 1 below.
Permissible deviations between the product analysis and the limiting values for the
cast analysis according to EN 10083-2:2006

4 MANUFACTURING PROCESS
The manufacturing process of the steel and of the products is left to the discretion
of the manufacturer. The steel shall be killed.

5 TECHNICAL CONDITIONS OF DELIVERY


Unless otherwise agreed at the time of enquiry and order, the products shall be
delivered in the untreated condition. EN 10083-2:2006, Technical delivery
conditions for unalloyed steels, is valid where applicable.

6 AGREEMENTS ON TESTS AND INSPECTION DOCUMENTS


At the time of ordering the issue of one of the inspection documents in accordance
with EN 10204 may be agreed for each delivery.

7 HEAT TREATMENT
Quenching: 820 - 860C
Quenching agent: Water or oil
Tempering: 550 - 660C
Normalizing: 840 - 880C
