Build a Computer

By: Wareesha Khan

The Purpose of the Build:

The computer is built mostly for gaming, with the ability to run popular games such as Roblox,
Fortnite, Minecraft, Valorant, and Sims 4. It is built to deliver smooth performance, quick game
load times, little to no lag, and efficient multitasking while being ready for future upgrades.

What Is a Gaming PC?

A gaming PC is a system for playing video games. It's different from a standard computer
because it includes high-performance components that can process complex graphics, handle
quick movements, and support multitasking without lag. This type of computer is built to deliver a
fun gaming experience with sharp visuals, smooth motion, and fewer delays.

A Gaming PC and its essential components:

A gaming PC is built to run video games smoothly by using high-performance parts that work
together smoothly. While many components make up the complete system, the core parts that
have the greatest impact on gaming performance are:

Processor (CPU):

The CPU is the central processing unit, the brain of the computer. It handles the game’s logic
and overall system operations. A powerful CPU, such as one from the Ryzen 7 series, helps
games run smoothly and that the computer can multitask without lag. The efficiency of the CPU
affects frame rates and the overall responsiveness of the system.

Graphics Card (GPU):

The GPU is responsible for providing the images and animations that appear on the screen. It
translates data into the visuals that are seen during gameplay. A dedicated GPU is important in a
gaming PC because it handles graphics processing separately from the CPU, making games run
smoother and look better.
Memory (RAM):

RAM is the short-term storage for data that the CPU needs immediately. Fast and plenty of
memory, typically 16GB at a minimum, though 32GB is preferable for high-end gaming, allows
the system to handle multiple tasks at once and ensures quick data access. This reduces
stuttering (when the game freezes or skips frames for a split second, making it feel choppy
instead of smooth), and load times during gameplay.

Storage (SSD):

An SSD, particularly an NVMe SSD, stores the operating system, games and other
applications. It offers much faster read and write speeds compared to hard drives. Quick storage
access means faster boot times (how long it takes for a computer to start up and be ready to use
after being powered on), shorter game load times, and a generally more responsive system,
which is important for the best gaming experience.

Motherboard:

The motherboard is the main circuit board that connects all of the components and allows all
of the components to communicate with each other. It determines what type of CPUs and
memory can be used, and it provides the necessary slots and ports for storage, peripherals, and
other necessary components of a PC.

Power Supply (PSU):

The power supply unit converts the electricity from the wall into the power needed by the
components. It must deliver enough stable power to handle all the parts, especially under heavy
load during gaming. A high-quality, efficient PSU (usually modular for easier cable management)
is important for system reliability and safety.

How These Components Work Together:

The CPU and GPU handle the heavy processing and rendering tasks that games demand. Fast
RAM and an SSD ensure that data is accessed and processed quickly, reducing delays and load
times. The motherboard ties all these parts together, ensuring compatibility and smooth
communication, while the PSU provides the necessary power.

My Gaming PC’s Component Explanations:

1. Processor – AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

This processor, with AMD's 3D V-Cache technology, is the central processing unit. Its 8
cores and 16 threads allows the system to handle demanding games and multiple
applications at the same time. The enhanced cache improves data access speed, making
sure that even less demanding games run smoothly.

2. Motherboard – MSI PRO B650M-A WiFi

The motherboard, built on the AM5 platform, connects all components and provides a
strong foundation for the build. It supports DDR5 memory and PCIe 4.0 storage, which
allows for much faster data transfer compared to older PCIe versions. Its integrated WiFi
6E provides high-speed wireless connectivity. Its versatile design ensures all parts work
efficiently together.

3. Memory – TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz

The 32GB high-speed DDR5 memory offers a lot of capacity for running multiple
applications and games at once. With a clock speed of 6000MHz, the memory boosts the
overall system responsiveness, which is important for a smooth gaming experience and
efficient multitasking.

4. Storage – Kingston NV2 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD

The Kingston NV2 is a high-speed SSD with 1TB of storage, best for games, applications,
and the operating system. It also uses a PCIe 4.0 interface. This means quicker boot
times, faster game loading, and a smoother overall experience.

5. Graphics Card – Sapphire Radeon RX 7600 XT (16GB)

The graphics card displays images and videos, an important function for gaming. With
16GB of GDDR6 memory, the RX 7600 XT is capable of handling games at high settings
in 1080p and 1440p resolutions. This GPU provides smooth visuals and high frame rates,
which improves the overall gaming experience.

6. Power Supply – Corsair RM750e (2023) Fully Modular 750W

The power supply unit provides clean and efficient power to the entire system. With a
wattage of 750W and an 80 Plus Gold efficiency rating, it is designed to deliver stable
power even under heavy load. Its fully modular design allows for improved and tidy cable
management, contributing to better airflow and a neater build.
7. Case – NZXT H5 Flow Compact ATX Mid-Tower
The NZXT H5 Flow is a well-designed PC case that protects components while ensuring
good cooling. Its front panel has small holes for better airflow, and the tempered glass
side panel displays the internal build. With a spacious interior and cable management
features, it helps keep everything organized and efficient.

hhh

8. Cooler – Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE

This cooler regulates heat produced by the components in the case. Its design, which
includes multiple heat pipes and dual fans, ensures that high heat production components
like the processor maintain safe operating temperatures during long gaming sessions. By
preventing thermal throttling (thermal throttling happens when a CPU or GPU gets too
hot and slows itself down to prevent overheating. This slows performance and can cause
lag or lower FPS in games), it helps with consistent performance.

9. Monitor – BenQ MOBIUZ EX240N 24" Gaming Monitor

The monitor features a 24-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate, which is crucial for
fast-paced gaming. Its display delivers vibrant colors, ensuring that the visuals provided
by the graphics card are displayed accurately and smoothly.

10.Peripherals – HHmei LED Rainbow Color Backlight Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Set
This keyboard and mouse set provides responsive input and customizable RGB
backlighting, which enhances both functionality and aesthetics. The peripherals are
selected to provide an enjoyable gaming experience while maintaining cost efficiency.

11. Operating System – MICROSOFT OEM SOFTWARE KW9-00633 Windows 11 Home

(DVD-ROM)
The operating system is the software platform that allows all hardware to function
together. Windows 11 Home is modern and the best for gaming and productivity.
Although it comes on a DVD, an external DVD drive is used for installation, which will be
explained below.
12. External DVD/CD Drive
An external DVD drive is a part of this build to help with the installation of the Windows 11
DVD. Since the NZXT H5 Flow case does not have a built-in DVD drive, this component is
essential for reading the installation media. Once the operating system is installed, the
drive can be disconnected.

How the Components Work Together:

In this gaming PC, each component plays a specific role while smoothly interacting with the
others to deliver the best performance. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D acts as the system's brain,
processing game logic and multitasking instructions with its 8 cores and 16 threads, while the
high-speed 32GB DDR5 memory ensures that data is instantly available for quick processing.
The Kingston NV2 1TB NVMe SSD quickly loads the operating system and games, reducing wait
times and keeping the system responsive. Meanwhile, the Sapphire Radeon RX 7600 XT works
with the CPU to provide high-quality visuals, which are then displayed smoothly on the 24-inch
BenQ MOBIUZ EX240N monitor with its fast refresh rate. All these high-performance
components are connected to the MSI PRO B650M-A WiFi motherboard, which helps with
efficient data transfer and ensures compatibility across the board. The Corsair RM750e power
supply provides clean, stable power to every component, and its fully modular design helps keep
a tidy build with improved airflow. Cooling is done through the Thermalright Peerless Assassin
120 SE CPU cooler and the NZXT H5 Flow case, which together regulate temperatures during
intense gaming sessions. The essential peripherals like the HHmei LED Rainbow Color Backlight
Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Set enhance the overall gaming experience by providing a smooth
