The International Space Station (ISS) is the largest structure humans have ever put into space. This gigantic satellite is used
both as a laboratory for new technologies and an observation platform for astronomical, environmental and geological
research. It is a permanently occupied outpost in outer space and it is considered to be an important stepping-stone for
further space exploration. The space station flies at an average altitude of 400 kilometers above the Earth and it circles the
globe every 90 minutes at a speed of about 28,000 kilometers per hour, which means that in just one day, the station travels
about the distance it would take from Earth to the moon and back. It also means that astronauts on board the ISS get to see
a sunrise every one and a half hour.
Five different space agencies representing 15 countries built the International Space Station for no less than 100 billion
dollars. The primary partners on the project are NASA, Russia’s Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities, the
European Space Agency, the Canadian Space Agency and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.

When used properly, mobile phones provide ways to offer creative learning, and improve students’ social
experiences. However, smartphones may lead to some problems.
While teachers can use activities on mobile phones to make students be more engaged in lessons, the
device can also create distractions in the classroom. Rather than watching a teacher’s lecture, students may use
their phones to text their friends, use social media apps, watch videos or browse the web. It can cause students to
miss out on important information taught in lessons. Moreover, students from low-income families may not be
able to afford to buy smartphones, so they miss out the online lessons on smartphones. Students can also use
their phones to text rumours to each other or make threats against classmates. Cyberbullying like that can cause
physical and emotional harm to students. Students also use the devices to take pictures of exam questions
beforehand and share answers during tests. They may also use their phones to cheat by searching Google for
MÃ 1 - 5
answers.
Teachers and parents can take steps to prevent some of the problems with using phones in classrooms. Teachers
can establish rules that allow mobile phones for specific learning purposes. They can also help students stay
engaged through a mix of traditional and online activities to try to boost learning and attention levels. Along
with making rules, parents can install parental control apps that restrict access to social media and other
nonessential apps during school hours.

Imagine a world where you can create anything you can dream of, from a custom phone case to a functioning
prosthetic limb. That’s the promise of 3D printing, a revolutionary technology that builds objects layer by layer
from a digital file. Unlike traditional manufacturing that carves or shapes materials, 3D printing adds material,
giving designers and engineers incredible freedom to create intricate and complex designs.
This freedom extends to the materials used. From common plastics like ABS to even metals and food, 3D
printing allows for customization and innovation. The possibilities are vast, transforming industries like
healthcare with custom prosthetics and implants, and even aerospace with lightweight parts for airplanes.
However, 3D printing technology is still evolving. Current limitations include the size and complexity of
printable objects, as well as the cost of some materials and printers. Nevertheless, 3D printing holds immense
potential for the future, offering possibilities for on-demand manufacturing, personalized products, and even
pushing the boundaries of medicine.
1. What is the key difference between 3D printing and traditional manufacturing methods?
A. Materials used B. Building method
C. Speed of production D. None of the above
2. How does 3D printing create objects?
