SunExpress was founded in 1989 as a joint venture of the world’s leading airlines
Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa. SunExpress offers numerous direct connections
between Europe and Turkey, serving 90 cities in 34 different countries.
Their headquarters is in sunny Antalya, which is known as the touristic capital of
Turkey. Another key hub is Izmir on Turkey’s Aegean coast. The company’s second
headquarters is in Gateway Gardens in Frankfurt am Main.
Through their order for 50 new Boeing 737 aircraft in 2014, they have made
insignificant investments in their fleet, making it one of the youngest in Europe and in
2023, SunExpress was named “World’s Best Leisure Airline”. As of 2024, SunExpress
operates a mixed fleet of 77 x B737NG and MAX aircraft, growing to 82 in 2024-2025,
and have plans to increase this fleet to 188 over the coming years through its orders
with Boeing.
SunExpress in this phase of expansion are looking to recruit further experienced B737
Rated and Non-Rated Captains to join their operation for long term opportunities.

What kind of contract do I get?
Initial 3-year contract term on offer, after which an unlimited contract can be offered by SunExpress.
Where will I be based?
Antalya, Turkey.
What type of working pattern should I expect?
SunExpress offer 2 types of contracts:
1. Full Time
2. Part Time
Full Time: Days off will be scheduled in accordance with local flight time limitations. Annual vacation
entitlements are effective after the first year of employment. Combining off days with annual leave will be
only possible when a minimum of 6 consecutive days of annual vacation are requested.
Part Time: 20 days on, 10 days off. Compensation for part-time contracts is calculated in proportion to the
number of working days. For example, 20/30 of a full- time contract. The duty time will start from 0 hours
and all additional variables will remain the same as in full-time contracts. FTL will determine the number
of OFF days during the 20 days on.
Sample Working Pattern Below:
PT – Part Time working = 20 days on, 10 days off (includes travel days should the pilot wish to commute
home during these days)
FT – Full Time working
UVAC – Unpaid Vacation

Are there other leave benefits on offer?
SunExpress will provide the personnel with additional leave benefits to include:
• Corporate Birthday Gift - Within the month of your birthday, you will be entitled to one day of
leave, allowing you to celebrate on the day most convenient for you.
• Wedding day of the employee or their children - 5 calendar days
• Birth of a child - 7 calendar days
• Change of residence - 2 calendar days
• Death of spouse - 10 calendar days
• Death of a parent, child, sibling, or parent-in-law - 5 calendar days
Will transportation for duty and accommodation be provided?
Transportation is provided 24/7 within the company’s geographic boundaries for duty period and during any
layovers.
Accommodation during the ground and simulator training is provided. Upon completion of training, and
when the pilot joins his/her base, an additional 7 days are provided.
What travel benefits and entitlements do I have?
Benefit from discounted tickets through SunExpress, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, and over 50 other airlines
globally. You can purchase discounted tickets in the following categories:
• R1: Seat confirmed discounted tickets
• R2: Standby discounted tickets (subject to availability)
• ID00: Tickets with only airport taxes applicable (up to 5 tickets per year for immediate family)
After six months of employment, you can enjoy discounted tickets from partner airlines. For example,
business class tickets to the USA start from €268 with Lufthansa. Note that airport taxes apply and R1
confirmed tickets are subject to availability.
What type of insurance coverage will I have?
• Loss of License Insurance: Limit of EUR120,000, covering the equivalent of one year’s salary. If the
insurance limit exceeds this amount, the premium difference will be paid by the pilot.
• Group Accident Insurance: You are covered by comprehensive group accident insurance, providing
24/7 coverage up to EUR52,000
• Private Health Insurance: top-tier private health insurance for you and your family (spouse and
children). SunExpress covers 80% of the premium, while you contribute 20%. If you choose not to
opt for private health insurance, SunExpress will cover 100% of the premium for inpatient
treatment cases only.

Package Details
Important Remark: Salaries are denominated in Euros (€) and disbursed at the end of each month.
You have the option to receive your salary in either Turkish Lira (TL) or Euros (€). All salaries are net
amounts.
Cockpit Retention Program:
SunExpress wants to establish a long employment relationship with its pilots. The Cockpit
Retention Program is paid at the start of the employment relationship. The first payment is made
with the following month ‘s payroll after the LIFUS final stage, with subsequent payments
executed each January
In addition, SunExpress have introduced in October 2024 a new retention bonus of:
• EUR15,000 included in May 2025 payroll, with payment date set for June 03, 2025
• EUR15,000 included in May 2026 payroll, with payment date set for June 03, 2026
Captains at SunExpress are compensated according to a seniority-based pay scale.
Seniority Pay Scale:
• During the training period, base-salary will be provided.
• Captains with experience on aircraft heavier than 27,000 MTOW
will receive one year of SunExpress seniority for every three years
(36 months seniority vs. 12 months SunExpress seniority) of
captain seniority at other airlines.

Duty Period Application:
A duty period begins when a crew member is required by the operator to report for or to
commence a duty and ends when they are free of all duties, including post-flight duties.
Duty periods assigned to crew members at SunExpress include:
• Reporting time
• Post flight duty time
• Ground times
• Waiting times (which are less than the amount of minimum rest
time, within the same duty period)
• Flights
• Deadhead flights
• Ground transports
• All ground duties / trainings Simulator
• Standby (%25)
The duty period application for our Captains begins with the LIFUS stage of Type Rating Training
or Conversion Training.
1* Night Duty: A duty period encroaching any portion of the period between 02:00 and 05:59 in
the time zone to which the crew is acclimatized
Cycle Compensations:
From the 3rd cycle of the same duty series, the following rates will be applied
Example: A CPT who has 4 legs of duty will have additional compensation of 35.80 € on top of
overtime payment (if applicable).

Other allowances
Travel Allowance:
Pilots are paid a per diem allowance when assigned duties away from their home base as follows:
• Türkiye: 30 € per day
• Europe: 50 € per day
• USA: 50 € per day
No travel allowance is paid during type rating training until proficiency is achieved
Meal Allowance:
During training or while on duty in the office, you will receive a daily meal allowance of EUR6,25
Clothing Allowance:
An annual clothing allowance of 80 € is provided to all employees

Type Rating & Company Conversion Training
What does the training program consist of?
After joining SunExpress, a training program is organized by training management according to Sun
Express’ pilot acceptance entry levels based on experiences and type rating validity. Training consists of
the phases below.
Ground trainings
• 3,5 weeks for airline experienced pilots
• 4,5 weeks for non-type Captains.
Note: Some of the lessons can be provided after simulator Training.
Simulator training
• For ready entry pilots having valid B737NG minimum 4 slots simulator training including LVO
and 1 Slot Proficiency Check.
• For pilots having type rating Training, 5 FTD and 14 simulator slots and one slot proficiency
Check are scheduled.
• LIFUS training Pilots with valid B737NG, minimum 18 sectors line training and 4 sectors line
checks.
• Pilots with jet experience (without B737NG) are scheduled for a minimum of 30 sectors line
training and 4 sector line check. Pilots without jet experience (without B737NG) pilots are
scheduled minimum 40 sectors line training and 4 sectors line check.
Note: Type Rating training for pilots having EASA License are outsourced. After successful completion of
TR training, company conversion training is provided by SunExpress. NTR pilots will have to complete 3-
year contract bond with SunExpress.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
What Qualifications & Experience are required?
Candidates are required to have the following Qualifications and Experience to be eligible to apply;
- EASA ATPL
- First Class Medical Certificate
- ICAO Level 5 or above ELP
- Minimum of 4000 total flying hours
- Minimum of 1500 hours on aircraft heavier than 27,000KG MTOW
- Minimum 500 active PIC hours
- Date of last flight on type flexible
- Meeting the required health conditions of the Airlines Transportation of the ICAO Annex-1 and JAR
FCL 3 on airline transportation pilot.
- Valid Rating at time of application and joining
- Maximum age to apply is 60 years for type rated candidates and max age 58 years old for NTR
candidates

APPLICATION PROCESS
What does the Application Process consist of?
SG Aviation Services will coordinate your application through the airlines screening and selection process.
Stage 1 – Initial Application & Screening with SG Aviation Services

2. Screening with SG Aviation Services
During this phase SG Aviation will provide a full briefing of the SunExpress assignment discussing any queries that
you may have and providing a full outline on documentation/reference requirements if progressing with an
application.
Stage 2 - Online Application
SG Aviation Services will provide you with the web link to complete this.
Stage 3 – Client Review
SunExpress will review your application, if approved, they will request the following documents for internal
consideration:
• ATPL, Medical, Last LPC, Last 3 Logbook Pages, Reference letters from past employers, Passport
Stage 4 – Screenings/Assessments in Antalya
Assessments will be held in Antalya over a 3-5-day period inclusive of travel days. Screenings will consist of
Mollymawk Psychometrics test, Simulator Assessment, Interview and Documentation Check in person and medical
check. Original documents should be provided during the interview in person. Medical will be conducted after all
the steps above and according to the pilot’s availability and it will be covered by SunExpress.
Ticketing and Accommodation to attend screenings, provided by SunExpress
STAGE 5 – Job offer, joining formalities and final documentation requirement.
Before positioning, pilots should provide the following documents:
• Certified logbook if flown since the initial logbook pages were provided at Stage 1 above.
• No accident/incident Letters from all past employers
• Reference Letters from the employers in the past 5 years confirming dates of employment and flying hours,
on the airline headed paper, signed & stamped.
• License Verification Letter
SunExpress will coordinate the work visa for the pilot.
Stage 6 – Pilot positions
Pilots arrive on base to commence assignment.
