The Effect of Chicken Manure As Organic Fertilizer RESEARCH PAPER - Docx - 20250408 - 145832 - 0000

This study examines the impact of cow manure on the growth of mung beans (Vigna radiata) using a controlled experimental design to determine optimal fertilizer concentrations. It aims to provide insights for sustainable agricultural practices by comparing growth parameters such as germination rate, plant height, and overall biomass. The findings will assist farmers in enhancing mung bean production while promoting environmentally friendly farming methods.

INTRODUCTION:

This study investigates the effect of cow manure on the growth of mung beans (monggo), a staple
crop in the Philippines. Using a controlled experimental design with consistent light, water, soil, and
container conditions, we will assess the impact of varying concentrations of cow manure on plant
growth. Key parameters measured will include germination rate, seedling emergence time, plant
height, root length, leaf number, and overall biomass.

The controlled environment ensures that any observed differences in growth are directly attributable
to the cow manure treatments. Statistical analysis will be used to determine the significance of these
differences, identifying the optimal concentration of cow manure for maximizing monggo yield. This
quantitative approach will provide robust and reliable data for practical application.

The findings will offer valuable insights for farmers seeking to enhance their monggo production using
readily available organic fertilizer. This research contributes to the promotion of sustainable
agricultural practices and environmentally friendly farming methods, ultimately benefiting both
farmers and the environment
QUESTIONS:

What is the current problem?

Many people still rely on chemical fertilizers when planting, which harm the soil and our
environment.Others Don't use fertilizers, making it hard for crops like mung beans to grow properly.

What have been done so far to solve this problem?

Some have turned to natural options like compost or animal manure. Others trying not to use
fertilizers. These methods help, but they aren’t always effective or consistent.

What is/are the weakness/es of the solution done before?

Natural fertilizers are very good, but if not used properly, they can harm the plants.Others use too much or
too little. Also, not everyone knows how to apply them, and it can cause the plant growth.

What is unique about the solution that I am providing in this study?

I used cow Manure from my father and I observed different amounts on mung beans. It shows exactly how
much is helpful and when it becomes harmful. This shows a guidance that we should careful using any
fertilizers.

What is the aim of your study?

the aim of my study is To observe cow manure can help mung beans grow better and
to find the right amount that gives the best results

What is the significance of your study?

This study proves that natural fertilizer like cow manure can be a useful, affordable, and friendly
way to grow mung beans. It helps students, farmers, and anyone interested in planting learn how to
care for plants better without using chemicals.
METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENTS

The materials used in this study included four recycled tin cans of equal size, mung bean seeds (Vigna
radiata), cow manure as my fertilizer, and water. The cow manure was obtained from my fathers farm, ensuring
that it was fresh and organic. The soil used for all cans was taken from my mom's garden to maintain
uniformity. A ruler was used to measure plant height, and a paper was used to record observations and data.
Water was applied daily using deep spoon. A camera was also used to take daily photos for documentation but
it takes 4 days of capturing my mung bean..bbuut

PROCEDURE

-Compost: Mix cow manure with organic matter for 6-8 weeks to create a nutrient-rich soil
amendment.

-Prepare Soil: Till the soil, removing weeds and rocks. A soil test is beneficial for ensuring
optimal soil health, crucial for healthy plant growth.

- Plant: Sow mung bean seeds 1-2 inches deep, spacing them 2-3 inches apart.

- Fertilize: Add the composted manure to the soil before planting or use aged manure
sparingly around the plants; cow manure provides essential nutrients for strong growth.

-Care: Water consistently, remove weeds, watch for pests, and harvest in 50-70 days
STATISTICAL ANALYSIS TOOL

To analyze the data, the average height of mung bean plants in each group was calculated and compared.
Basic descriptive statistics, such as mean and range, were used to evaluate differences between the control
and experimental groups. Observations on leaf color and plant condition were also compared qualitatively to
support the numerical data. This helped identify patterns and determine which amount of chicken manure was
most effective.
