The AI project cycle is a structured process that includes stages such as problem scoping, data acquisition, exploration, modeling, evaluation, and deployment, aimed at creating efficient AI projects. Ethical frameworks are essential for ensuring that AI solutions are morally acceptable and avoid unintended harm, with various types such as sector-based and value-based frameworks guiding ethical decision-making. Key principles of bioethics, including respect for autonomy and non-maleficence, are crucial in the development of AI applications, particularly in healthcare.

Project cycle- Why do we use it?

Ans- AI project cycle is the cyclical process followed to complete an AI
project. AI project cycle takes us through different steps involved in a
project.
AI project cycle helps us:
● to create better AI projects easily
● to create AI projects faster
● to understand the process

Stages of Project Cycle.

Ans-

1. Problem scoping- Involves identifying the problem and having a

vision to solve it
4 Ws-
Who- Stakeholders
What - Identify Problem
Where - Context of Problem
Why- Solution

2. Data Acquisition-Includes acquiring the data from different resources

for the AI Project
3. Data Exploration- includes exploring the data ,interpreting some
useful information out of the acquired data and put it uniformly for a
better understanding of the data.
4. Modelling- Process in which different models based on the visualized
data can be created and checked for the advantages or
disadvantages of the model.
Modelling Approach-
● Rule Based Approach-refers to the modelling where rules are
defined by the developer
● Learning based Approach-Refers to modelling where machines
learn by itself.
5. Evaluation - Process of understanding the reliability of any model
based on outputs by feeding the test data set into the model and
comparing it with the actual answer.
6. Deployment-It is crucial for ensuring the successful integration and
operation of AI solutions in the real world environment.

Domain of AI-
● Statistical Data- in which the system collects numerous data,
maintains data sets and derives meaning/sense out of them. Eg-
Price Comparison Websites,
● Computer Vision, is an AI domain that works with videos and images
enabling machines to interpret and understand visual information.
Eg- Agricultural Monitoring ,Surveillance Systems
● Natural Language Processing -deals with the interaction between
computers and humans using the natural language that is spoken
and written by people. Eg- Email filters ,Machine Translation etc.

Ethical Frameworks for AI-

Frameworks- set of steps that help us in solving problems. It provides a
step-by-step guide for solving problems in an organized manner.
Ethics-ethics are a set of values or morals which help us separate right
from wrong.
Ethical Frameworks- Ethical frameworks are frameworks which help us
ensure that the choices we make do not cause unintended harm.

Why do we need Ethical Frameworks for AI?

Ethical frameworks ensure that AI makes morally acceptable choices. If we
use ethical frameworks while building our AI solutions, we can avoid
unintended outcomes, even before they take place. We need to ensure that
AI makes morally acceptable recommendations.

Types of Ethical Frameworks -

1. Sector-based Frameworks:. In the context of AI, one common sector-
based framework is Bioethics, which focuses on ethical considerations in
healthcare. It addresses issues such as patient privacy, data security, and
the ethical use of AI in medical decision-making.

2. Value-based Frameworks: focus on fundamental ethical principles and

values guiding decision making.

Rights-based-: Prioritizes the protection of human rights and dignity,

valuing human life over other considerations.

Utility-based: Evaluates actions based on the principle of maximizing

utility or overall good, aiming to achieve outcomes that offer the greatest
benefit and minimize harm.

Virtue-based: This framework focuses on the character and intentions

of the individuals involved in decision-making.

Bioethics Bioethics is an ethical framework used in healthcare and life

sciences. It deals with ethical issues related to health, medicine, and
biological sciences, ensuring that AI applications in healthcare adhere to
ethical standards and considerations.

Principles of bioethics
• Respect for Autonomy.
• Do not harm.
• Ensure maximum benefit for all.
• Give justice.

Main principles of AI ethical should be consider for making AI application-

Non-maleficence- refers to the ethical principle of avoiding causing harm or
negative consequences.
Maleficence- refers to the concept of intentionally causing harm or
wrongdoing.
Beneficence- refers to the ethical principle of promoting and maximizing
the well-being and welfare of individuals and society
