Ladies and gentlemen, my dear peers and teachers, good morning.
I'm Mahad and it's my pleasure
to welcome you all to this gathering where I will share my thoughts on all year-round schooling
system. Today I would like to discuss the proposal of implementing this system at our institution,
exploring its potential benefits and challenges, and considering whether it would be right for our
community as we explore this new approach to education. It's vital to consider its impact on our
students, teachers, and families.
Dear audience, the all-year-round schooling system has been considered a better way of achieving
improved academic results as this system keeps children more engaged in studies and provides
them short summer breaks. However, despite these advantages, there are many drawbacks that
make traditional schooling systems better and ultimately more convenient.
Esteemed guests, have you ever thought about how long traditional summer vacations are
beneficial and crucial for the development of the students? Though external breaks can lead to
significant pause in academic momentum, affecting the studies of children, but on the other hand,
these long breaks provide children to relax, help them cover past topics, give them time to spend
with their families, and enjoy extracurricular activities which are very difficult to be done in school
days and in short summer breaks.
Distinguished teachers and parents, to conclude, I believe that the all-year-round schooling system
may not suit everyone. While it does have benefits, the traditional schooling system is far better, as
education is not only the key to success. I would like to end my speech with a quote by George
Santayana: "A child educated only at school is an uneducated child." Thank you.
