This book does not focus on rituals or the pillars of Islam. Instead, it presents Islam as a way of life

“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those done regularly, even if small.”

“The feet of a servant will not move on the Day of Judgment until he is asked… about his life and
how he spent it.”

﴾‫ِيال‬ َ َ‫﴿ َو َيسأَلُونَك‬

“And they ask you about the soul. Say, ‘The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And mankind has not
been given of knowledge except a little.’”

“The one who remembers Allah and the one who doesn’t are like the living and the dead.”

1. Physical Health – ‫الصحة الجسدية‬

﴾‫ٱّلل كَانَ ِب ُكمأ َرحِ ي ًما‬

“And do not kill yourselves (or harm yourselves). Indeed, Allah is ever Merciful to you.”

“Indeed, your body has a right over you.”

«‫ وفي كل خير‬،‫»المؤمن القوي خير وأحب إلى للا من المؤمن الضعيف‬

“The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, though in both is
good.”

2. Nutrition & Diet – ‫التغذية والطعام‬

﴾‫﴿ َو ُكلُوا َواش َربُوا َو َال تُس ِرفُوا‬

“Eat and drink, but do not be excessive.”

«‫ وثُلُث لنفَسِه‬،‫ وثُلُث لشرا ِبه‬،‫ فثُلُث لطعامِ ه‬. . .،‫شرا من بطن‬
ًّ ‫»ما مأل آدمي وعا ًء‬

“No human ever filled a container worse than the stomach … a third for food, a third for drink, and
a third for breath.”

3. Sleep & Rest – ‫النوم والراحة‬

ً ‫س َباتًا * َو َج َعلنَا اللَّي َل ِل َبا‬

﴾‫سا‬ ُ ‫﴿ َو َج َعلنَا ال َّنو َم‬
“And We made the night as a cover, and We made sleep a means for rest.”

«‫»اللهم إني أعوذ بك من العجز والكسل‬

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness.”

«‫»علِموا أوالدكم الرمي والسباحة وركوب الخيل‬

“Teach your children archery, swimming, and horse riding.”

5. Hygiene & Cleanliness – ‫الطهارة والنظافة‬

“Cleanliness is half of faith.”

“Seek treatment—for Allah has not created any disease but He also created its cure.”

«‫ فال تخرجوا منها‬،‫ وإذا وقع بأرض وأنتم بها‬،‫ فال تدخلوها‬،‫»إذا سمعتم بالطاعون بأرض‬

“If you hear of a plague in a land, do not enter it. If it occurs where you are, do not leave.”

7.Sexual Health – ‫الصحة الجنسية‬

«‫ فمن رغب عن سنتي فليس مني‬،‫»النكاح من سنتي‬

“Marriage is my tradition; whoever turns away from my tradition is not of me.”

 «‫ وأحصن للفرج‬،‫ فإنه أغض للبصر‬،‫ من استطاع منكم الباءة فليتزوج‬،‫» يا معشر الشباب‬

“O young men, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so, for it is more effective in
lowering the gaze and avoiding adultery.”

8. Substance Use & Avoidance - ‫تجنب المواد الضارة وتعاطيها‬

﴾‫﴿ َو َال تُلقُوا ِبأَيدِي ُكم إِلَى التَّهلُ َك ِة‬

“And do not throw yourselves into destruction.”

“And say: My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”

“Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.”

“O Allah, benefit me from what You have taught me, teach me what will benefit me, and increase

“Do they not then reflect on the Quran?”

«‫»إن للا يحب إذا عمل أحدكم عمالً أن يتقنه‬

“Indeed, Allah loves that when anyone of you does a job, he does it perfectly.”

﴾‫س َن ِة‬ َ ‫س ِبي ِل َر ِبكَ ِبالحِ ك َم ِة َوال َمو ِع‬

“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction.”

«‫»من لم يشكر الناس لم يشكر للا‬

“He who does not thank people, does not thank Allah.”

«‫خيرا أو ليصمت‬
ً ‫»من كان يؤمن باهلل واليوم اآلخر فليقل‬

“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent.”

«‫ وال البذيء‬،‫ وال الفاحش‬،‫ وال اللعان‬،‫»ليس المؤمن بالطعان‬

“The believer is not a slanderer, nor does he curse, nor is he obscene or foul.”

Time & Life Management – ‫إدارة الوقت والحياة‬

“So race to all that is good.”

«‫ وحياتك قبل موتك‬،‫ وفراغك قبل شغلك‬،‫ وغناك قبل فقرك‬،‫ وصحتك قبل سقمتك‬،‫ شبابك قبل هرمك‬:‫سا قبل خمس‬

“Take advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness,
your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your busyness, & your life before your death.”

3. Financial Planning & Spending Habits – ‫التخطيط المالي وعادات اإلنفاق‬

﴾ ِ‫سط َها ُك َّل ال َبسط‬ ُ ‫﴿ َو َال تَج َعل َيدَكَ َمغلُولَةً ِإلَ ٰى‬
ُ ‫عنُقِكَ َو َال تَب‬

“Do not be tight-fisted or overly generous—seek balance.”

ً ‫﴿ َوال ت ُ َبذِر تَبذ‬

﴾‫ِيرا‬

“And do not waste [resources] extravagantly.”

4. Minimalism & Simplicity – ‫الزهد والبساطة‬

ِ َّ ‫﴿ َما عِن َد ُكم َينفَ ُد َو َما عِن َد‬

“What is with you will end, but what is with Allah is everlasting.”

«‫ أو عابر سبيل‬،‫»كن في الدنيا كأنك غريب‬

“Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler.”

“Wealth is not in having many possessions, but wealth is being content in the soul.”

«‫ وازهد فيما عند الناس يحبك الناس‬،‫»ازهد في الدنيا يحبك للا‬

“Detach the world and Allah will love you; detach what is in people's hands and people will love
you.”

5. Work-Life Balance – ‫التوازن بين العمل والحياة‬

«‫ فأعطِ كل ذي حق حقه‬،‫ وإن ۡلهلك عليك حقا‬،‫»إن لنفسك عليك حقا‬

“Your soul has a right over you, your family has a right over you — so give everyone their due right.”

«‫»ساعة وساعة‬

“An hour (for worship) and an hour (for relaxation).”

«‫»ابدأ بنفسك ثم بمن تعول‬

“Begin with yourself, then those you support.”

“Who seeks Allah’s guidance will never be disappointed; and he who consults will never regret.”

“When a human dies, all his deeds end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or
a righteous child who prays for him.”

“The honest and trustworthy merchant will be with the Prophets, the truthful, and the martyrs.”

“Seeking lawful income is a duty upon every Muslim.”

«‫خيرا من أن يأكل من عمل يده‬

“No one has ever eaten better food than that earned by the labor of his own hands.”

2. Volunteering & Charity – ‫التطوع والصدقة‬

«‫»خير الناس أنفعهم للناس‬

“The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.”

“Every act of kindness is a charity.”

“And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.”

“The leader is a shepherd and responsible for his flock.”

“The leader of a people is their servant.”

“Give full measure and weight with justice.”

“Whoever cheats is not one of us.”

“Pay the worker his wages before his sweat dries.”

Social & Relationships - ‫العالقات االجتماعية والتواصل‬

1. Family Life – ‫الحياة األسرية‬

«‫»خيركم خيركم ۡلهله‬

“The best of you are those who are best to their families.”

“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him maintain kinship/family relations.”

“Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible for his flock.”

«‫»فاتقوا للا واعدلوا بين أوالدكم‬

“Fear Allah and be just among your children.”

﴾‫ِيرا‬ َ ‫ب ٱر َحم ُه َما َك َما َر َّب َيانِى‬
ً ًۭ ‫صغ‬ ُ
ِ ‫ٱلرح َم ِة َوقل َّر‬ َ
َّ َ‫ك َِري ًًۭما َوٱخفِض ل ُه َما َجنَا َح ٱلذ ِل مِ ن‬
"And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him and be kind to parents. If one or both of
them attain old age with you, don’t even express the slightest annoyance nor speak harshly, but
speak to them with respectful words. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say,
My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was small.”

«‫ ثم أبوك‬،‫ ثم أمك‬،‫ ثم أمك‬،‫ أمك‬:‫ من أحق الناس بحسن صحابتي؟ قال‬،‫ يا رسول للا‬:‫»جاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال‬

A man came to the Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬and said, “O Messenger of Allah, who is most deserving of my good
companionship?” He said, “Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father.”

4. Marriage / Romantic Life – ‫ الحياة العاطفية‬/ ‫الزواج‬

﴾ً‫﴿ َومِ ن آ َيا ِت ِه أَن َخلَقَ لَ ُكم مِ ن أَنفُ ِس ُكم أَز َوا ًجا ِلتَس ُكنُوا ِإلَي َها َو َج َع َل َبي َن ُكم َّم َو َّدة ً َو َرح َمة‬

“And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in
them; and He placed between you affection and mercy.”

﴾ ِ‫عاش ُِروه َُّن ِبال َمع ُروف‬

َ ‫﴿ َو‬

“And live with them in kindness.”

«‫ياركم لنسائهم‬ ُ ِ‫»خ‬

ُ ِ‫ياركم خ‬

“The best of you are the best to their wives.”

«‫»إن من أشر الناس عند للا منزلة يوم القيامة الرجل يفضي إلى امرأته وتفضي إليه ثم ينشر سرها‬

“Among the worst people before Allah on the Day of Judgment is a man who is intimate with his
wife and then discloses her secrets.”

5. Women’s Rights – ‫حقوق المرأة‬

َ َ‫يب ِم َّما ٱكت‬

﴾ َ‫سبن‬ ًۭ ‫َص‬
ِ ‫سآءِ ن‬ َ َ‫يب ِم َّما ٱكت‬
َ ‫سبُوا َول ِِلن‬ ًۭ ‫َص‬

“Men shall have a share of what they earn, and women shall have a share of what they earn.”

“Only a noble man honors women, and only a dishonorable man degrades women.”

﴾‫ض ُكم َبعضًا‬

ُ ‫﴿ َو َال َيغتَب بَّع‬

“Do not backbite one another”

«‫»ال يؤمن أحدكم حتى يحب ۡلخيه ما يحب لنفسه‬

“None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.”

«‫»وللا في عون العبد ما كان العبد في عون أخيه‬

“Allah helps the servant so long as the servant helps his brother.”

«‫»تهادوا تحابوا‬

“Give gifts and you will love one another.”

«‫»من ستر مسل ًما ستره للا في الدنيا واآلخرة‬

“Whoever covers (the faults of) a Muslim, Allah will cover him in this world and the Hereafter.”

«‫»دعوة المرء المسلم ۡلخيه بظهر الغيب مستجابة‬

“The supplication a Muslim makes for his brother in his absence is accepted.”

«‫ ويعرف شرف كبيرنا‬،‫»ليس منا من لم يرحم صغيرنا‬

“He is not one of us who does not show mercy to our young and respect to our elders.”

“A true Muslim is one who does not harm others by words or actions.”

«‫»ليس المؤمن الذي يشبع وجاره جائع إلى جنبه وهو يعلم به‬

“The believer is not the one who eats his fill while his nearest neighbor is hungry, and he knows it.”

«‫»من كان يؤمن باهلل واليوم اآلخر فال يؤذ جاره‬

“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him not harm his neighbor.”

«‫»ما زال جبريل يوصيني بالجيران حتى ظننت أنه سيورثهم‬

“Gabriel kept recommending treating neighbors well until I thought he would assign them
inheritance.”

﴾‫﴿ َوالصل ُح خَير‬

“And reconciliation is best.”

«‫ إصالح ذات البين‬:‫ قال‬.‫ بلى‬:‫»أال أخبركم بأفضل من درجة الصيام والصالة والصدقة؟ قالوا‬

“Shall I tell you what is better than prayer, fasting, & charity? It’s making peace between people.”

ِ ‫﴿ َوقُولُوا لِل َّن‬

﴾‫اس ُحس ًنا‬

“And speak to people good [words].”

«‫»أفشوا السالم بينكم‬

“Spread greetings among yourselves.”

“Your smile to your brother is charity.”

“The most beloved and the closest to me on Resurrection Day are those with the best manners.”

“I was only sent to perfect good manners.”

﴾‫﴿ َال ِإك َرا َه فِى ٱلدِين‬

“There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion.”

﴾ َ‫علَ ٰى أَنفُ ِس ُكم أ َ ِو ال َوا ِلدَي ِن َواۡلَق َر ِبين‬

َ ‫ّلل َولَو‬ ُ ِ‫﴿ َيا أَي َها الَّذِينَ آ َمنُوا ُكونُوا قَ َّوامِ ينَ ِبالقِسط‬
ِ َّ ِ ‫ش َهدَا َء‬

“O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be
against yourselves or parents and relatives.”

“The best jihad is a word of justice before a tyrant ruler.”

«‫»الظلم ظلمات يوم القيامة‬

“Oppression is darkness on the Day of Resurrection.”

“And consult among themselves in their affairs.”

“… whoever kills a soul is as if he had killed mankind entirely. And whoever saves one—it is as if he

“Do not cause harm, nor reciprocate harm.”

“Removing harm from the road is a charity.”

“Prepare against them whatever you can of power”

“Verily, Allah has prescribed kindness in everything. So, if you slaughter, slaughter well. Let one of
you sharpen his blade and spare suffering to the animal.”

“The Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬commanded that knives be sharpened and kept out of sight from the animals.”

«‫»لعن رسول للا ﷺ من مثل بالحيوان‬

“The Messenger of Allah ‫ ﷺ‬cursed those who mutilate animals.”

2. Planting & Sustainability – ‫الزراعة واالستدامة‬

«‫ إال كان له به صدقة‬،‫ فيأكل منه طير أو إنسان أو بهيمة‬،‫سا أو يزرع زرعًا‬

“Whenever a Muslim plants a tree or sows a crop, and a bird, a person, or an animal eats from it, it
is regarded as a charity for him.”

“If the Day of Judgment begins and one of you has a palm shoot in his hand, let him plant it.”

“Do not cut down palm trees, nor burn them, nor destroy buildings”

«‫» َمن قطع سدرة ً صوب للا رأسه في النار‬

“Whoever cuts down a tree (that provides shade) without cause, Allah will punish him.”

«‫»ال تسرف في الماء ولو كنت على نهر جار‬

“Do not waste water even if you perform ablution on the flowing river.”

«‫»ال يبولن أحدكم في الماء الراكد الذي ال يجري ثم يغتسل فيه‬

“None of you should urinate in still water and then wash in it.”

“Announce this marriage, perform it in the mosque, and beat the drum.”

“Indeed, in some poetry there is wisdom.”

2. Sports & Recreation – ‫الرياضة والترفيه‬

« '‫ فقال 'دونكم‬،‫»رأيت النبي ﷺ واقفًا على بابنا ينظر إلى الحبشة وهم يلعبون بحرابهم في المسجد‬

“The Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬said ‘Continue! Play on!’ watching kids playing with spears in the mosque.”

«‫»سابقَتُ رسو ُل للا ﷺ فسبقتُهُ… ثم سابقني بع ُد فسبقني‬

“I raced with the Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬and I beat him... then later he raced me and he beat me.

“And We made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another.”

“And tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their private parts.”

“Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty.”

1. Relationship with Allah – ‫العالقة مع للا‬

﴾‫﴿ َونَح ُن أَق َربُ إِلَي ِه مِ ن َحب ِل ال َو ِري ِد‬

“And We are closer to him than his jugular vein.”

﴾‫﴿ادعُونِي أَست َِجب لَ ُكم‬

“Call upon Me; I will respond to you.”

﴾‫﴿فَاذ ُك ُرونِي أَذ ُكر ُكم‬

“Remember Me, and I will remember you.”

«‫»هلل أشد فر ًحا بتوبة عبده من أحدكم‬

“Allah is more joyful over the repentance of His servant than any one of you would be”

2. Forgiveness & Mercy – ‫المغفرة والرحمة‬

﴾‫﴿ َو َرح َمتِي َو ِسعَت ُك َّل شَيء‬

“And My mercy encompasses all things.”

﴾ِ‫ٱّلل‬ ُ ‫علَ ٰى أَنفُ ِس ِهم َال تَق َن‬

“Say: O My servants who have wronged themselves, do not despair of Allah’s mercy. Indeed, Allah
forgives all sins.”

“Your Lord has prescribed mercy upon Himself.”

ِ ‫»ار َح ُموا َمن فِي اۡلَر‬

َّ ‫ض َير َحم ُكم َمن فِي ال‬

“Show mercy to those on the earth, and the One above the heavens will show you mercy.”

﴾‫شكَرتُم َۡل َ ِزي َد َّن ُكم‬

“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in blessings].”

“Be content with what Allah has given you, and you will be the richest of people.”

“Whoever is not thankful to people is not thankful to Allah.”

َّ ‫ٱّلل يُحِ ب ٱل‬

“And Allah loves the patient.”

«‫ إال كفر للا بها من خطاياه‬...‫»ما يصيب المسلم من نصب وال وصب‬

“No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt... afflicts a Muslim, except that Allah
expiates some of his sins through it.”

«‫»إن عظم الجزاء مع عظم البالء‬

“The greatest reward comes with the greatest trial.”

ِ ‫ َو َال َنقُو ُل إِ َّال َما يُر‬،ُ‫ب َيحزَ ن‬

«‫ضي َر َّبنَا‬ َ ‫ َوالقَل‬،‫»إِ َّن العَينَ تَد َم ُع‬

“The eyes shed tears, and the heart grieves, but we say only what pleases our Lord.”
