TO GET BEST RESULTS MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND
CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS BELOW:
READ AHEAD - read few steps ahead to understand your current progress
better and avoid possible mistakes;
MUST USE NON STRETCH FABRIC - using stretch materials will result in ripped
seams because this design is sewn with straight stitch;
PRESS SEAMS AFTER EACH STEP - pressing seams with iron provides finished
and professional results.

PRINTING
To print this pattern right make sure scaling is set to
100%. It should also be on Auto Rotate mode (or
landscape). When pattern has been printed
measure reference ruler on paper, it should match
with your actual ruler.
A4 / US LETTER PDF
When all pages are printed borders need to be
cut off, then pages get taped with clear scotch
tape. Pages are numbered and easy to
assemble. On the next page you will find a
preview of assembled pattern.

BEGINNER’S GUIDE
If you consider yourself a beginner read this slide to avoid
mistakes during this project.
Straight stitch - stitch used for non stretch fabrics, most common stitch among all.
Serge stitch - stitch used for stretch fabrics. If instructions require “serging” - straight stitch will
NOT work.
Zig zag stitch - stitch used for stretch and non stretch fabrics, most of the time is used to finish
hem.
Cut on fold - method of transferring paper pattern on fabric when
paper pattern is “mirrored” at the edge that is marked as “fold line”.
fold line
Cut on bias - method of cutting pattern under 45 degree angle, it is
makes a dramatic difference and should not be ignored if instructed.
45 degree
Rubber elastic - type of elastic that is required to make swimsuit,
standard width is 1/4” (1 cm) unless instructed different. You
absolutely MUST use elastic for any swimsuit.

LET’S START
Step 1
Print, measure reference ruler, cut your size. Make sure you mirror leg and strap pieces (flip paper pattern),
it is needed to make up for right and left side of the body.
Step 2
If you have serger machine - clean all edges on all panels. It gives cleaner look and prevents fabric from fraying.
Step 3
Let’s take care of our front panels first, we will start with pockets.
Fold pocket’s side and bottom edges 5/8” or 1.5 cm towards
wrong side and press with iron. Then fold top edge 1” (2.5 cm) FOLD EDGES
inwards towards wrong side and edge stitch with straight stitch. AND PRESS
FOLD TOP EDGE
Repeat for the second pocket. AND TOP STITCH
Step 4
Lay front leg flat with right side facing up. Place pocket on top
so right sides of fabrics are facing each other. Pocket’s bottom
edge should be aligned with bottom marking on the pant.
Unfold edges of the pocket and straight stitch bottom to the
pant on leaving 5/8” (1.5 cm) in the beginning and in the end
unstitched.
NO STITCHING

Step 5
Fold pocket sides 5/8” (1.5 cm), then flip it up so its sides are
lining up with markings on pant leg. Pin pocket to the pant,

edge stitch from side to side, top-stitching bottom edge.
Repeat for the second leg. FLIP UP

Step 6
Place one front leg on top of another front leg with right sides facing each other. Sew at center front seam.

Step 7
Take one pair of shoulder straps (the other pair of straps for the
back will be attached in a different manner) . Make sure you
transfered marking on the straps, it is important we match them PAIR SHOULD HAVE 1 STRAP
when connecting to main pieces. MIRRORED TO ANOTHER
Fold straps long edges and top edge 5/8” or 1.5 cm towards BOTTOM EDGE UNSTITCHED
wrong side, press with iron. Leave edge with notches unfolded.
Top stitch with straight stitch. Repeat for the second strap.
Step 8
Place front facing on top front construction with right
sides facing each other, sew side seams only. Insert
straps between main and facing panels (right side of
straps should be facing right side of main panels).
Notches should be matched (side with 2 notches FRONT CONSTRUCTION
should be towards the corner and side with one WITH FRONT FACING
INSERT STRAPS
notch should aim towards the center front) RIGHT SIDES FACING EACH OTHER

Step 9
Now let’s work with back pieces. Sew shoulder straps to back
pieces matching notches (right sides of fabric are facing
each other). Back straps edges are not finished unlike the
front pair.

Step 10 1. 2.
SHORT END
1. Identify center back edge, fold it 5/8” or 1.5 cm towards wrong
side, press and top stitch. This top stitch should go from top of
the strap to the end of center back seam allowance. FOLD AND SEW AT
CENTER BACK SEAM
2. Next, fold and top stitch short end of the strap, leave other
side untouched.
Repeat for the second back panel.

Step 11
Place one back leg on top of another back leg with right sides facing each other. Sew at crotch seam.
This way of sewing back panels and straps provides clean V-shaped back.

Step 12
Sew front and back constructions at side seams and inseam with their right sides facing each other.
At this point we should have unfinished armholes and partially unfinished back straps. And pant’s hem.

Step 13
Cleaning armholes and back shoulder straps will be done in one continuous stitch per each side. Pick any
armhole and start folding 5/8” or 1.5 cm towards wrong side of the fabric starting from the shoulder strap end. As
you fold you should also be pinning folded edge for better results as we will be going over curves. Once
you’ve folded and pinned back panel edges continue folding front panel. Eventually you will reach front facing
area and seam allowance should fold nice an clean. Press everything , re-pin where needed to flatten seam
allowance and top stitch. Repeat for the other armhole.

Step 14
Turn jumpsuit to the right side. Top stitch edge of front facing to lock it.
Finish hem by folding edges 1” (2.5 cm) towards the wrong side and straight stitch. I like fraying hem for casual
designs such as this overall, if you want to fray the hem, try jumpsuit first and check pant’s length - trim about an
inch or 2.5 cm if it feels too long, then fray the edges.
Press seams flat and enjoy!
