Zoos, Aquariums And Museum
Nowadays, it is hard to find a person who has never been in a zoo, aquarium or museum. Since
childhood we find it fancy to observe animals and exhibits, but sometimes even adults do not
understand what the real value of zoos, aquariums and museums is.
First, it is necessary to explain the main goals of these institutions which are to increase knowledge
about the surrounding, to learn about conservation related behavior and to build conservation
principles. In order to fulfill these goals, modern zoos, aquariums and museums provide a huge range
of possibilities such as arranging specific exhibitions ensuring visual experiences, presenting new
information and joining the conservation organization (Yalowitz).
In addition, the information given in an exhibition is not as memorable as it seems at first. After a
week or more people are tend to forget the main message of the presentation. Thus, it means that
zoos, aquariums and museums have to find a way how to increase an impact during people s visits.
This is further shown by the fact that the follow up visitors gain more knowledge than the first time
ones. In other words, the follow up visitors are more likely to ... Show more content on

Some of them want to observe exhibits to bate his or her curiosity, others have hobby passions on
the shown topic and would like to gain a new experience. What is also worth mentioning is that
information presented in an exposure has to comprise needs of every visitor, and zoos, aquariums
and museums have to make it easy for everyone to understand and comprehend all that was shown
and said. Other aspects such as age, gender, social group, ethnicity and basic level of knowledge
should also be taken into consideration. Besides, another argument is that institutions should also
provide programs for distinguishing motivations in order to fulfill one s expectations and to increase
long term knowledge (why zoos
Argumentative Essay On Underhand Shooting
Underhand Shooting Can Still be Reinstated Sports is the system of activities based on physical
athleticism. Humans involved themselves in hunting with spears as part of their physical
activities in prehistoric times. With time, the world has evolved since then. People are now
involved in sports and physical activities not to survive but to remain healthy as well as
entertained. There are many sports that is played around the world. Among all those sports,
basketball is one of the most popular sport played with global recognition. It is played with five
players on each team at one time and they display an array of skills like ball handling, shooting,
passing, dribbling, dunking, shot blocking. Shooting successful free throws in basketball that is not
the most glamorous skill that a player can acquire. At times, it is understated and considered to be a
simple shot to score points. However, there have been debates regarding the technique of shooting
free throws. The effectiveness of choosing between an underhand throw or an overhand throw still is

Since the use of overhand shooting there has been a masculine stigma relating to it for the players
to even think about switching back to the underhand style. That s the way little kids shoot, and it
didn t help that everybody calls it the granny shot , Barry says (Rist, 2000). It was even called
granny shot as it was supposed to be an old practice. It was the mockery that even led Wilt
Chamberlin change his style from underhand to overhand resulting in not getting the points. It can
also be related with the fact that the smart people can do the dumb things too. It can be called that it
was his dumbness that he tried to go with the crowd rather than following his own instincts. If we
think about it, it is not only his dumbness but his unwillingness in doing something different than
Mental Health Status
Mental Health is based on emotional, psychological, and social well being. These factors are based
on social interactions, actions, and thoughts. There are various factors that can influence an
individual s mental health such as biological factors, social exclusion, and inclusion, as well as
societal pressures. However, someone s mental healthcan be compromised when they encounter
physical abuse, sexual abuse, and depression. This can cause the individual to develop PTSD which
generally cultivates after facing a traumatic situation such as a near death experience. Consequently,
when proper care and resources aren t given to people in need they are unable to function to the best
of their ability. Though, PTSD can be largely considered an issue... Show more content on

Since this is an issue amongst children who have grown up in homes of neglect, programs for
after schools should be integrated. Programs such as Big Brother/Big Sister have been instituted
to help students who are in risk of facing judicial issues amongst other issues. However, there is
challenges associated with creating these programs because of funding. In order to get additional
funding for programs such as after schools they re needs to be enough money in the budget to pay
the employer s, pay for necessary equipment, and other expenses. Generally, single income
households and neglectful homes are usually lower income households; therefore, the program
would have to be free or at a reduced price which can also pose as an issue.
The importance of help for people in juvenile detention halls is very important and can be very
dire. Programs and prevention programs need to be instituted for proper care to be given so that
help can be received and so when the rejoin society they can be flourishing
Sorrowful Women and a Story of an Hour
The traditional outlook on life has dissipated in modern years. Men were usually the ones who
worked to support the family and maintained a steady income to make the family financially stable.
On the contrary, women were expected to raise the children, prepare meals and keep a tidy house.
For most, this was the ideal life style that worked effectively. Throughout Gail Godwin s short story,
A Sorrowful Woman, the character is a component of a troubled family. Furthermore in the short
story, The Story of an Hour written by Kate Chopin, the protagonist, Mrs. Mallard is notified with
information that is life altering. A characters motivation drives a story towards the authors intended
theme through the actions taken and emotions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As her husband came home, it is no wonder that she had a heart attack. It was stated that she
already had heart problems. It is ironic that she begins these plans in her head for a life without
her husband, when she in reality is the one who dies and whose life is cut short. These two stories
show how the traditional lifestyle of woman has changed over the course of time. They both show
how troubles within the family can create problem even if it is a tragic event that sparks these
troubles. In the story A Sorrowful Woman the reader will certainly notice how she has created the
troubles depicted from the family vantage point. This idea of how lifestyles have changed is
perpetuated by the story The story of an Hour by Kate Chopin. This shows how a life altering event
has changed the mindset of a woman who was rather traditional in thoughts regarding marriage and
life with her husband. In conclusion, these main characters actions and emotions are supportive of
the author s intentions and thus the theme of the

A lack of objective data on which to assess talent can result in an over reliance on personal
viewpoints which does not always result in the best talent being acquired (Onetest, 2007, para 2). A
review and acceptance process will follow were the candidate is studied further and ultimately
chosen or not chosen for continuation. If chosen the candidate is than placed on a development path
to prepare him or her for future roles in the organization. The first step toward development in the
Common Grounds organization is to assign a mentor. Having a mentor will help the candidate gain
insight into internal operations from a seasoned veteran employee. A seasoned employee can
enhance the development process because he or she is aware of and operates within the organization
s cultural parameters and has had proven success. Having a mentor also helps the candidates learn
how to build and maintain relationships. According to Ferrell, Fraedrich and Ferrell (2011),
developing and maintaining relationships is an essential aspect of business. The next step is to
attend workshops that offer exposure and solution training to real world situations. Finally, special
projects are given to ascertain the development of the candidate by their ability to apply their
knowledge in a practical setting. Though the identifying, assessing and development of potential

After Watching the Documentary Food Inc.
Watching the documentary Food Inc, there were a few points that stood out most to me. I think one
of the most important concerns that were brought up is the consumers not knowing the truth behind
the food. Whether there is actual harm in our food or not, we still need to know what is going into
our food. The harm that may actually be inside our food can be caused by how easy it is to
produce crap food now days. Making mass produced food is a lot easier than it has been in the past
because genetics have changed animals into growing faster and fatter. This causes harm to the
environment by creating factories for these foods to be made, which causes pollution by emitting
many CO2 gasses. However this isn t a concern for the producer. The producer is mainly focused on
money they receive even if it causes harm to the environment or the consumers. The use of
pesticides and other substances are used in foods, whether it s in the production of corn growing or
in the food in general to help keep germs out. This also causes harm to the consumer and
environment that we should be aware of.
Throughout the film Food Inc, I noticed there were quite a few subtitles stating ... declined to
interview for this film. This made me ask myself to why they chose not to interview for this
documentary. This goes along the lines of point number one. All of the companies which preferred
not to interview for this film are hiding information from the consumers, information that would
make us not want to
Rr Lyrae Research Paper
1.8 RRAB
RR Lyrae are variables with asymmetric light curves (steep ascending branches), periods from 0.3 to
1.2 days, and amplitudes from 0.5 to 2 mag in V. They are fundamental mode pulsators.
1.9 RRC
These are RR Lyrae variables with nearly symmetric, sometimes sinusoidal, light curves, periods
from 0.2 to 0.5 days, and amplitudes not greater than 0.8 mag. in V.
1.10 RV
These are radially pulsating supergiants having spectral types F G at maximum light and K M at
minimum. The light curves are distinguished by alternating deep and shallow minima. The
complete light amplitude may reach 3 4 mag. in V. Periods between two adjacent primary minima
(usually called formal periods) lie in the range 30 150 days (these are the periods appearing in the
Catalogue). The light curves are non sinusoidal, and usually non repeating. The RV Tauri stars seem
to be old stars, with masses similar to that of the Sun.
1.11 SPB
They are Main sequence B2 B9 stars (3 9 solar masses) that pulsate in the high radial order low
degree g modes. Their periods may be multiple and range from 0.4 to 5 days and amplitudes are
smaller than 0.1 magnitudes. SPB stars have since been found in several clusters, and in the Large
Magellanic Cloud.

It may require many months or years for the completion of a cycle. They are red giant and
supergiant stars. They are sometimes known as Mira stars after the Mira Ceti star, in the constellation
Cetus, which was the first pulsating variable discovered. They are cool red giants or super giants
and have periods of months to years. Their luminosity can range from 10 to 10,000 × that of the
Sun. There are many more types of Periodic star variables. Some are eruptive and cataclysmic
variables like the
Edgar Degas
In examining the work of the impressionist artist Edgar Degas, though he himself preferred to be
considered a realist, the very mention of his name conjures images of ballerinas. From the most
famous statue of Little Dancer Fourteen Years Old who stands prominently defined in our mind
s eyes or the swirling masses of color and form that showed visions of Parisian Operas in the
1800s like that seen in the painting Dancers in the Wings, Degas work is indelibly linked to the
world of these petite dancers. On the surface it appears a brief glimpse into their lives, but the
work of Degas, much like himself is shrouded in heavy layers of enigma and meaning. Why did
he focus so highly on the youth of the Parisian ballets, and in what ways does this convey and
reveal the attitude of Degas towards his subjects but also his approaches to art? By examining the
world of these ballerinas, we can dissect the juxtaposing values of pain and beauty found in their
lives, as well as the underlying voyeuristic and sexually charged undertones of Degas own
perspective. First, we must revisit the reality of the youth pictured throughout much of Degas work.
His initial sketches of this subject begin as early as 1860 in which the Opera was an immense
pleasure palace, a symbol of French historical pride and preeminence, and a nostalgic repository of

Sharp did not have a stringent plan to remain as an industry leader in its LCD division as well.
Most of the competitive advantage it gained is through using its proprietary LCD technology
Four Primary Colour and by increasing the sizes of the TV. Sharp s business outlook in the LCD
market to gain competitive advantage by increasing the sizes of the TV, is not farfetched as the
company is now beginning to realise that the customers had a threshold point on the sizes of TV
they wanted. DISCUSSION OF ALTERNATIVES The new president of Sharp Mr. Katayama had a
Globalization attitude to the company s business model. Sharp is in the verge of creating a new
identity for itself. It is a major player in the industry and could not operate in an also ran basis that it
used to in the past. It needed new alternatives to remain on the top and gain competitive advantages
over its competitors. Starting production in an international market seemed unlikely in the previous
business model which followed the make in Japan, sell overseas principles. With recent losses in the
company s financial statements, and worsening economic conditions it is imperative for Sharp to
overcome this limitation. Starting production in major markets and developing specialized knowledge
The Denomination For The Jim Crow Laws
The denomination for the Jim Crow Laws first originated in the mid 1800s from a character in a
Minstrel Show. The Minstrel Show was one of the first forms of American regalement ever
engendered and took place in 1843. The exhibition was performed by successors of African
American musical composition and dance routine actors. The first Minstrel Showwas in Virginia and
commenced by a group of four men from Virginia who all painted their faces ebony and performed a
minute musical composition and dance skit in a minute theater in Incipient York City. Thomas
Dartmouth Rice, a white actor, performed the Jim Crow Minstrel Show. Rice s inspiration emanated
from an older ebony man whom would sing and dance in Louisville, Kentucky. Rice s skit ended in
the same chorus as the old ebony mans musical composition which went like this Wheel about and
turn about and do jis so, Eb ry time I wheel about I jump Jim Crow. . In 1832 Rice s musical
composition and dance routine took him through Louisville to Cincinnati the through Pittsburgh and
Philadelphia then conclusively to Incipient York City. Determinately, Rice performed throughout
Europe as well as London and Dublin. He had a sizably voluminous following with the Irish
community.
