Scientific Murder Essay
Scientific Murder:
Human Experimentation in Nazi Germany
The Nazi s were infamous for their cruel and unusual experiments on humans. Although they played
a small part of Nazi Germany s attempt at racial hygiene, these experiments desecrated and
exterminated thousands of humans (Lifton 269). quot; The Nazi medical experiments of the 1930 s
and 1940 s are the most famous example of recent disregard for ethical conduct quot; (Polit amp;
Hungler 127). For the sake of science, thousands lost their lives quot;I have no words. I thought we
were human beings. We were living creatures. How could they do things like that? quot; (Auschwitz
survivor as quoted in Lifton 269). Was it really science, or was it murder? ... Show more content on

Friedlander quotes Henrich Bunke saying, quot;It provided the opportunity to collaborate with
experienced professors, to do scientific work, and to complete my education. quot; as his excuse for
joining T4 (127). Autopsies were the greatest opportunity for these young physicians. As a result,
human organs were available for research (Friedlander 127).
With the beginning of this program, scientists made the decision to utilize the killing program to
benefit research. Two institutes for research took a great part in benefiting from the killings.

The experiments done on the camp prisoners can be divided into two categories. The first was
created to help the war effort and was performed by the medical services of the German military. The
Luftwaffe (German Air Force) performed high altitude experiments on camp prisoners to test
conditions experienced by pilots. Other examples of military experiments were inducing
hypothermia, human toleration of seawater ingestion, and immunization experiments against several
diseases (Friedlander 132). Women were used in military experiments to test treatment of combat
Tengriism Research Paper
Tengriism is a religion practiced and based in Central Asia. The actual founding date of Tengriism
has not been confirmed, but it is believed to have begun sometime around the Bronze Age, which
lasted from 3,300 B.C. through to 1,200 B.C. It is one of the oldest religions, and includes
characteristics of shamanism, animism, totemism, both polytheism and monotheism, and ancestor
worship. It is one of the few religions to represent a pure philosophical vision rather than religious
views, having never caused any wars or sought to convert and propagandize the world. Tengri was
the main divinity worshipped by the ruling class of the Central Asian people from the 6th to 9th
centuries, however, it lost this importance in the 8th century. The worship... Show more content on

It was discovered in 1889 in the Orkhon Valley in Mongolia and was used to publish the alphabet
of the Old Turkic language. The features of this creation story have been found on many rocks,
with carvings and paintings dating back to the 4th century B.C.E, they read as principles of
Tengriist belief. Written in the Orkhon script, these inscriptions record an account of the
mythological origins of the Turks. The sacred site of Ungirtas is another account of the historical
religion. At the summit of this site, on the hill, a stone marks the belly button of the world we
live in. This is the place where it is believed that energy is channelled from. You are instructed to
lie on your back 4 metres from the stone for five to seven minutes. Once you re in the appropriate
position, you may ask for your soul to be cleansed and allow the energy to pass through your body
and eliminate the negativity from your life and cast it into the
Designing An Electronic Connector And A Torque Watch
2.2 Assembly with standardize reference fitting Prior to any testing of luer fittings, the fittings
must be first assembled to a standardized reference fitting typically made of stainless steel.

This is because sterility stored in the liquid or fluid in a medical device must be strictly
uncompromised. To carry out this test, the luer fitting is to be tested by being assembled to a
reference fitting using the equipment showed in section 2.2. For this test, the fitting is
assembled by applying an axial force not exceeding 27.5 Newtons (N) while applying a torque
not exceeding 0.12 Newton meters (Nm). The assembled part is then fluidized by introducing
water into the assembly to expel all the air out. In a horizontal position, the outlet of the assembly
is sealed and a water pressure of 300 kilo pascals (kPa) to 330kPa is applied to the assembly for at
least 30 seconds. The luer fitting passes the test if there are no visual observations of water leakage
sufficient to form a falling drop seen from the assembly. The water pressure can be generated by
compressing water in a syringe with a 2000 pounds capacity compressing machine and using a
pressure gauge to determine the pressure, the set up is shown in figure 7.
2.3.3 Air Leakage test
The air leakage test has a similar purpose as the liquid leakage test, which is to prevent the sterility
of the sealed liquid in the medical device from leaking. For this test, the fittings are also assembled
by applying an axial force not exceeding 27.5N while applying a torque not exceeding 0.12Nm.

Descriptive Essay On A Live Concert
About a year ago, my father, my sister, and I, went to go attend a live concert because I had never
viewed one before. Although, both my sister, and father had seen many concerts before me (thank
you my beloved family for leaving me alone with no form of entertainment, every time you left for a
concert). We planned to see the band Blink182, one of my familys favorite punk rock bands, in
Maine. There are three main parts to this wonderful journey, it begins with the drive, then the actual
concert, and finally the drive back, which were all equally entertaining (in my opinion). It was an
outdoor concert, but I would have preferred an indoor concert because functioning bathrooms are
really important to me, but I did not complain. My sister and I anticipated the day we would leave
to see the wonderful Maine we had heard so much about from our father. All we had to do, was
wait. The day arrived sooner than expected, and my father booked us a flight to Boston,
Massachusetts. Prior to our departure, I had always thought that Boston was located in Maine (I
do not know anything about geography), but I soon learned it was not, thanks to my father, and
sister constantly making fun of my poor geography skills. We then left on September 3rd, for an
airport in Boston. My father had to drive us the rest of the way up to Maine, from the airport (and
boy, was that an adventure). We took a detour on the way up, and stopped at a recommended place
from my father, called Newbury Comics. Being
Romulus Research Paper
Romulus undertakings and innovative approaches in finding Rome had significant consequences on
shaping the future of the city and assuring its vast importance in the human history. As Romulus set
out to establish Rome as an orderly and highly functioning city, he produced what can be considered
a blueprint for most major European cities. As the beginnings of one of the first European cities
were marked and influenced by various political and socio economic shifts so were the origins of the
American cities. Although the origins of European and American cities vary to a great extent,
politics and the social and economic conditions ultimately influenced the shape, design, and the role
of cities on each continent.
One of the main differences in the layout of the American and European cities is the way that the
core of towns is constructed. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the urban cores are highly dense. However, many miles of suburbia stretch in all directions
beyond the city center (Urban). Unlike the European cities, the American cities began a rapid growth
only a couple of hundred years ago. In addition, the growth was accompanied by the rapid expansion
of the transport systems such as the steam train and later, a car. The modern inventions of
transportation gave citizens the ability to commute much larger distances and in turn caused higher
urban sprawl, which led to lower density in comparison to the European towns (Urban).
Despite the vast differences in the ways that European and American cities were designed and
shaped, their unique characteristics reflect the distinctive circumstances in which they were created
in both political and socio economic realms. Furthermore, although each continent has a distinct
urban origin, it is crucial to point out that it was Romulus undertakings that lead to the existence of
the western democracy and its importance in the shaping of the cities that exist
Violent Conflict And Thechallenge Of Food Security Essay
VIOLENT CONFLICT AND THECHALLENGE OF FOOD SECURITY IN NORTH EAST
NIGERIA BY
MOTUBOMA THOMAS
Department of Political Administrative Studies (International Relations)
University of Port Harcourt,
Port Harcourt, Nigeria ABSTRACT
This research work sought to examine the effect of violent conflict and the challenge of food security
in the North Eastern region of Nigeria as well as its effects on other part of the country and
neighbouring countries. Emphasis was placed on analysing the relationship between violence and
agricultural productivity and investments in the region using contextual analysis based on both
primary and secondary data. The theoretical perspective that was adopted is the frustration
aggression theory which states that people will always resort to violence/aggression whenever they
are excessively frustrated. This theory was therefore employed to understand causes of the problem
of violent conflict in the North East. It was established that violent conflict has caused a lot of
problems for the people living in that region most especially with regards tofood security since most
of the inhabitants of this region are subsistence farmers and since they have been displaced, cannot
cultivate their farms to feed themselves. The study recommends that government should tackle the
root cause of violent conflict and strengthen the fight against insurgency in order to bring lasting
peace to the region. The study also suggested that the economy should be highly

Modern Threats And Coral Reefs
Modern Threats to Coral Reefs and the Efforts to Restore and Rehabilitate Them

Abstract
Worldwide, coral reefs are suffering due to both natural and human induced causes. Nature will take
its course, but humans must do all they can to help restore and rehabilitate coral reefs to a healthy
state. Between invasive species, temperature change, and overfishing, it has become evident that if
we do not do something, all coral reefs will be destroyed. This study focuses on some of these
issues, and discusses actions that are being taken to reverse the damages being caused by people.
Coral fragmentation and gardening, invasive species control, marine protected areas (MPAs), and
heightened restrictions on fishing are just a few of these. With enough urgency, we may just be able
to save our reefs from the imminent destruction they now face.
Introduction The health of coral reefs is declining worldwide. Such an important ecosystem must
survive in order to protect countless species from going extinct, ensure continued protection to
shorelines from weather, and provide economic and sustainable food income for humans. As it
stands, about 75% of the world s reefs are at risk due to many stressors, and if nothing is done,
those reefs will be at an extremely high threat level of dying out (Chavanich et al., 2015). Some of
these stressors are overfishing, destructive fishing, invasive
species, and temperature change due to global warming
Mirvish s Discount Store History
If you re from Toronto, chances are you re familiar with the flashing bright entrance and quirky
handwritten signs of Honest Ed s. The iconic establishment was initially opened up as a discount
store in 1948 by Ed Mirvish but has since become one of the cities most well known landmarks for
tourists and locals alike. Located on the corner of Bloor and Bathurst, the kitsch department stores
twenty three thousand bulb sign isn t the only interesting thing about the place; the merchandise
inside ranges from tube socks to gold Elvis busts, each advertised with a unique hand painted sign.
It was hard news for some Torontonians to hear that after serving the city for over sixty years,
Honest Ed plans to close its doors on December 31, of this year... Show more content on

The Mirvish family was left with the massive store that was losing its sales while the value of its
real estate rose, making it s sale almost inevitable.
The Vancouver based developer who purchased the site revealed their hopes of using the space to
build a 1000 unit rental project there, including parks, public squares and childcare facilities.
To commemorate its vibrant history, the TTC has give Bathurst station a makeover, replacing all the
signs with hand written ones, and covering the walls with cheeky statements that would make Ed
Mirvish proud such as Been there Dundas.
The installation is said to last until the end of this year but there is some discussion as to making it
permanent. The idea was thought up by TTC manager of customer service, Chris Upfold who
stated, The store was there before the subway. It was there when we were running streetcars on
Bloor. We helped customers and staff get to Honest Ed s then, and we ll continue to serve the
residents of the new development in the future,
Honest Ed s was much more than a department store, it has been a landmark, and not just because of
its design or notable discount store model, but because of it s significant engagement with the
