Denmark and the Third Reich
Denmark, a small country north of Germany was going about its normal routines as the strength of
the Nazis under the Third Reich, the government led by Adolf Hitler, began to grow. Then in an
instant it all changed. The Danes had signed a pact with Germany in 1939 and were completely
taken by surprise when German airplanes flooded the skies. The Danish had no way to defend
themselves and surrendered within hours on April 9, 1940. Hitler had planned to take Denmark
because he had found that it had many advantages to go along with his plans. The Danes
represented the perfect race, the Aryans. Also, and more importantly it was closer to Swedish war
supplies, and to Great Britain to allow for attacks. Lastly, it was close to Norway which was Hitler s
second target after the invasion of Denmark. Although approximately 7,000 Jews were saved during
the Danish Resistance, the acts were not necessary because of the protection Germanyprovided to
Denmark, the problems associated with politics and the economy because of the resistance, and
lastly the division of the people in Denmark because of their different views on how to approach
the arising issue. The protection that Germany provided to the Danish during the occupation of the
region is very significant. Although the Germans did take over and occupy the country of Denmark
the leaders of Germany told and allowed the king of Denmark at the time to remain in his position
as the head ruler and go on about their daily lives as they
Fashion Photography By Viviane Sassen
Whenever the term fashion photography is brought up, the first thought that s triggered is that it s
a genre of photography which is devoted to displaying clothing and other fashion items. However
just like everything else in modern society, fashion photography has been redefined. It s not your
average branded garments on a model anymore; it s more about capturing the essence of the brand
itself and its personal universe. Viviane Sassen is one of the photographers who built her platform
based on minimal focus on fashion, and more on personal experiences which led to her success.
Vivian Sassen started her career in the fashion world as a model and shifted to photography. Few
years after, she published her fashion work in independent magazines and then escalated to fashion
magazines such as Vogue Paris and Wallpaper. Even though her career spiraled, there was always
something characteristic about her photographs, often depicting elegant, and abstract forms of
bodies and body parts. It was easy to state that Sassen reshaped a new visual language in the early
2000s by her usage of strong light and shadow, saturated colors, and extreme, angular poses.
According to a publisher, Another Africa, she spent the early part of her childhood years in Kenya. In
2001, she published her series Cape Flats ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Effortless lines and shapes, and quite often of human bodies. However, while arms and legs
frame abstract lines, faces play an alternate, more complex part in her work: they are often
undetectable. Like the uncommonly shaped arms and legs of her work, there is a story behind
Sassen s invisible faces, as well: At one point, when I was considering photography, I was taking
photos for a companion of mine who is a fashion designer. I was taking self portraits, yet I was not
feeling great. I chose to utilize dark ink to make all my skin in the photos pitch dark: my face, my
hands my
The Importance Of Presidential Elections
The most important and popularized moment in American Political verve is the presidential election
process. As Nathan Myhrvold once said, Elections, for their part, are typically popularity contests
rather than measures of candidates relative competency or effectiveness. Imagine if scientific truth
were determined according to which scientist was most popular. To be successful, scientists would
have to be charismatic and attractive and human knowledge would suffer terribly . Because politics
are so far from the average American Joe, the virtue of electionshas lost its way into a high school
class electionwhere the jock wins over the head cheerleader. Evidently, Americans are now
encouraged if not obliged to take part of a natural right,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
. . did not fairly represent the views of the party members throughout the nation (Text, 393). This
was when the people began to take note that this process was unfair and that they should add a
step so that everyone was at least content with the nominees. The State s party leaders would
generally decide who would be selected. The role of the political party conventions, as
demonstrated in both the 2012 and 2016 elections, demonstrated a close merger between both
candidates votes, nonetheless the electoral votes were more significant for Barack Obama. As
the same story told for Donald Trump, however he had a greater gap of indifference of the
general population due to his shameful campaign. Money is a huge deal when it comes to
campaigns. We all have received that one annoying call, where someone is trying to persuade you
to demonstrate support (monetary because moral support isn t what pays the bills) for a specific
candidate. For the most part, they occupy this money for TV commercials, or traveling expenses,
maybe even a speech writer because they hated English in college. Candidates, or their teams, take
careful inspection of their expenses because money does not grow on trees and they are again trying
to persuade America that they are good enough to become
A Conversation Between The Director Of Food And Beverage...
This negotiation consisted of a conversation between the Director of Food and Beverage at the
Statler Hotel (me) and the East Coast Vice President of Sales for Anderson Coffee. Our negotiation
was fairly short, consisting of only five minutes total. I believe this was because both parties came in
with an open, friendly attitude ready to strike a deal together. We also had a great deal of mutual
respect for one another, so having an open conversation about limits and potential opportunities
within the relationship was much easier. She opened the conversationwith the beginning offer, and I
followed up with asking her about why the price was where it was at and explaining that while we
are excited to talk to Anderson we are also content to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two year contract created value for both parties for different reasons. Value was created for me
due to the guaranteed lower price for a longer period of time and a relationship with a superior
vendor. It was valuable to her because it guaranteed both revenue and an advertising stream for a
long period of time. We would not have been able to reach these terms without listening to one
another. I also learned one thing that I would like to stop doing during the negotiation is letting the
other party offer first. I was able to adequately prepare for the negotiation, find the prices I wanted
and was willing to accept, and identify different issues besides price to use as bargaining chips since
the Statler Hotel had less to offer than the seller. Although I knew that I had taken enough time to
prepare for the negotiation, I let fear of inducing a chilling effect keep me from being aggressive
with my first offer. I now know I have no need to be self conscious if I have prepared although I
read this in the book it is different to experience it in practice. I also know, that if I do miss the
chance to offer first because the other party happens to be more aggressive than myself it is
important to re anchor the conversation to keep the negotiation on the track I want it to be. There
are also a few things I
The Dannon Company
THE DANNON COMPANY: MARKETING AND CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (A)
Question 1) Should Dannon proactively communicate its CSR activities to the public? Discuss pros
and cons of your decision.
Answer: Dannon should not communicate its CSR activities to the public. Dannon and Yoplait are
the two leading company in US with Yoplait have 35.4% market share and Dannon is second with
28.9% market share. Dannon is not too far behind Yoplait and so they don t need to do much to
become the number 1 player in America. Also, the consumers can gather more knowledge about the
CSR activities of Dannon through the Dannon cares section on the website and the 16 page ... Show

The cons of not communicating the CSR activities are: * The emotional bond between the customers
and the company may not be too strong because the customers do not come to know about the CSR
activities extensively. * If the activities are communicated the company can differentiate itself as a
leading player that cares about the health of the customers and also of the society in which it
operates. * Communicating the activities will create great credibility for the Dannon brand which
otherwise may not be created. It will help them to have a emotional relationship with the customers.
Question 2) How does having a corporate parent (Danone) effect its decision to externally
communicate its CSR programs?
Answer: Having a corporate parent affected the decision of Dannon to externally communicate its
CSR programs. The Dannon Company was a U.S. subsidiary of Danone, which was one of the
largest health focused food company in the world.
Danone felt that the U.S. was an emerging market for yogurt and hence, Dannon focused its
marketing strategy on increasing the yogurt consumption and expanding the category. Dannon had to
follow Danone and maintain a strong commitment to CSR. At Danone, local decision making and
was trusted and encouraged. Also, Dannon had a responsibility to its parent company and was
accountable for a set of deliverables and data for reporting purposes. It believed in collaborative
decision making and therefore major strategy
Dwelling in Possibilities Analysis Essay
Rhetorical Analysis Is our youth doomed? Mark Edmundson begs this question in his essay,
Dwelling in Possibilities. His essay explains how the lives of young people have changed drastically
over the years. Edmundson, professor at the University of Virginia, says his students are constantly
going and that they never stop; they never settle in fear of missing something great. In lieu of this,
Edmundson says that they are, victims of their own hunger for speed (Edmundson2). He also adds
that his students, and young people in general, use today s technology to be everywhere at once
(watching a movie, instant messaging, talking on the phone, and glancing at a textbook) and are
therefore, not anywhere in particular (Edmundson... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, again, that is debatable and an author can never go wrong by proposing a solution when writing
to persuade. Besides omitting a solution, Edmundson does an excellent job persuading his readers,
especially with the use of references. Most writers, when writing to persuade, include facts and
statistics to support their viewpoint. Edmundson, however, refers to authors, and very famous ones
at that. This is a very successful method because his whole argument has to do with the lack of
culture, art, and writing, in today s youth. Referencing these authors really helps the reader to sense
where he is coming from and helps them to sense his passion for literature. Some of the authors
referenced include: Thoreau, Immanuel Kant, Gertrude Stein, Nietzche, Lord Byron, Wordsworth,
and Emerson. One reference, in particular, serves as an excellent example of how Edmundson s
references are successful in getting his point across. He compares youth to the contrasting Byron and
Wordsworth, Byron to how his students are today, and Wordsworth to how it ought to be. He states
that Byron wished to never be bored, as does today s youth (Edmundson 11). Edmundson also
mentions, students now are Romantics of a Byronic sort, and that, he would have adored their world
of fast travel, fast communication, and fast relationships (Edmundson 11). In contrast to Byron and
today s youth, Edmundson says that
The Illegal and Unethical Activities of Bernard Lawrence...
Bernard Lawrence Madoff, a former chairman of the NASDAQ Stock Market and founder of
Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities, was one of the few NASDAQ market makers who
competed with the New York Stock Exchange, by trading stocks listed on the Big Board. Through
the Cincinnati exchange, the Madoff was a pioneer in electronic trading and publicly spoke of the
need to use technology to transform the inefficient and sometimes shady over the counter stock
market (Monica Gagnier, 2008). But Madoff became famous for a very different reason on
December 10, 2008 when Madoff s sons told authorities that their father had confessed to them that
the asset management unit of his firm was a massive Ponzi scheme. On March 12, 2009, Madoff
pleaded... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I know, I myself, if I was investing 5 million to Madoff who supposedly told me he could earn an
unusually higher return on my money than other investors, I would want to know exactly how he
was doing it. A financial risk manager might have been able to stop this from even happening. They
might have seen that Madoff s investment company was making substantial returns that were
significantly higher than everyone else in the same market, and was doing it consistently year after
year, then they might have saw that something just didn t add up. 4. Describe three ways private
investors might have better protected themselves from risk. It is an easy job to find thousands of
financial agencies who are ready to serve clients high benefits on their investments, but it s a tougher
job to sort out the reputed and reliable ones among them. So before investing their hard earned
money, they should survey the market first to know the agency s reputation. After doing their
research they should better protect themselves by: 1.Using a Certified Financial Planner which have
more training than others and must adhere to a strict Code of Ethics mandated by the Financial
Planning Association. 2. Sticking with investments they can understand and making sure their
advisor can explain and you can understand
