0.1.Introduction
St. Michael’s Catholic Community is the biggest Christian community amongst other sects within the
Mataita west ward. The small associations making up the CCC of this faithful community are active and
functioning with that, the CCC is operating following its plans and programmes effectively today
0.2.CCC Population
St. Michael’s catholic community is composed of 229 household and 1,878 members existing excluding
new born babies. The community members come from four hamlets within the Mataita west ward.
However there are 12 SCC groups that make up the CCC of this community which every SCC is active in
church organised activities and participate effectively
0.3.Associations:
The Catholic Christian community has 8 existing associations which are effectively carrying out their
programs. These are; Men’s Union, Women Fellowship, youth, Sunday school, F.L.A (family life
apostolate), L.O.M, L.V.P, and Caritas. These association’s members come from the 12 SCC groups. All
this associations have their own quarterly programmes and are working actively in the community.
0.4.CCC Operational Calendar.
The CCC of the Mataita catholic community has an Operational Calendar for various events, feast days,
solemnities and other spiritual enrichment programs in-placed. However the Operational Calendar or
plan is satisfactorily implemented. Other plans (programs) observed or implemented are; leaders
formation (1st to 4th of April 2025), Holy week and Good Friday, way of the cross. There was an effective
participation by the SCC members.
0.5.Liturgy.
The CCC was once following two formats for service without priest. However since the Feast of Christ
the King, the CCC had farewell the 3 leader format and following one (1) leader format today. We have 5
service leaders, two (2) E.O.C.M (Extra Ordinary Communion ministers), and four (4 preachers). These
leaders are actively serving in the community or during Liturgy of the word of God. Community
participation during the liturgy is effective
0.6.Sacraments.
Beginning of this year (2nd March 2025), we had first infants baptized. ________infants were baptized.
Other sacraments are undergoing instruction every Sunday, which is Marriage and First Holy
Communion.
0.7.Community Situation
The community as a whole is settling back to their normal activities as before. Everyone is participating
in the church programs, school and community oriented activities like sports. Otherwise the community
is looking ahead for the 2025 LLG elections coming up next month.
0.8.Summary.
St. Michaels Catholic community is actively participating in various organised activities within the ward.
Every SCC groups are effectively functioning .Leaders actively carry out their duties so as the Liturgy is
effective on Sundays. Other associations within the community (CCC) are active as of today
