President Hoover Failure
The Great Depression was an abrupt decline in the supply and demand of goods and services along
with a meteoric rise in unemployment. President Herbert Hoover thought there should not be too
much government intervention and the crisis would balance itself out after a while, but that was not
the case. His attempts to aid the Great Depressionwere not as successful as hoped and did not gain
him much popularity while he ran again for a second term as president. In 1932, Franklin
Roosevelt won the presidential election by a landslide against President Hoover. President
Roosevelt created policies and programs that later collectively became known as the New Deal.

It oversaw the construction of large scale public works like San Francisco s Golden Gate Bridge
and New York City s Triborough Bridge. They hoped it would stimulate the economy by creating
jobs and by generating orders for materials that American industry produced. The PWA
accomplished the task at hand, but they did not spend all the money available to them and
therefore, it was not as productive as it could have been. Social Security Act (SSA) provided
pensions, unemployment insurance, and aid to the disabled. It financed its programs through
deductions from workers paychecks, but in reality, slowed economic growth by restraining
consumer purchasing power. The programs and benefits of the Social Security Act were not
distributed evenly among all Americans and since many of these Social Security programs were run
by state governments, the size of benefits varied widely. Overall, the WPA failed to lift the country

The Paleozoic Era
The earth is known to be 4.534 billion years old. Life however has only been on earth for 3.8
billion years. One major time period from Earths earliest years is the Paleozoic Era. This particular
era which lasted from 542 million to 251 million years ago (Lee, Torney Owen, 2012). It was this
time frame that the Earthwent through great change, as it was within this era that the breakup of one
supercontinent ended, and the formation of another started. It was also in this that plant populations
started to grow, whilst the very first vertebrate animals colonized land (Lee, Torney Owen, 2012). It
was in this period that trilobites were in abundance and ruled the oceans (Crônier François, 2014).
These trilobites can be small, ridged segmented ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the major most examples is the lamellae on the outer leg branch on the trilobite as the
filaments of the book gills of horseshoe crabs and book lungs of arachnids. Also, the eyes of
trilobites penetrate the dorsal surface of the head shield as in horseshoe crabs.
Although trilobites were incredibly successful for almost 300 million years the last of the trilobites
went extinct about 250 million years ago during the Permian/Triassic mass extinction. This is one of
the biggest mass extinctions ever to have happened on earth, over 90% of species died out (Prothero
Buell, 2007).
It is through research and investigation into Trilobites that we know that they are extinct
arthropods and possible distant relatives of modern lobsters, horseshoe crabs and spiders. We also
know that they existed approximately 300 million years, which from a scientific perspective is
really astonishing when compared to large animals that didn t live nearly as long as that. The fact
that their fossils are found on every continent on earth shows that there were in abundance during
their time and have left their mark geological history. We know a large amount of information on
them from looking at their fossils, such as their size ( 1 centimetre to s College, D. (2015). Charles

White Man Thesis
William Apess was a Native American Methodist minister from Massachusetts with a voice that
wanted to be heard. He was one of the first to call out racism against people of color and its ties to
Christianity, as he was a very reglious man. Being that he was religious, he didn t see how there
could be love from God and Christ but such bitter racismagainst Native Americans and slaves. His
paper sermon An Indian s Looking Glass for the White Man , expresses his animosity and
confusion towards the colonist, also known as the white people. William showed how hypocritical
and unholy these colonist actually were, and this sermon opens your eyes more than ever before. In
the very first paragraph of his sermon, he states, and to that God who is the... Show more content on

rather how moral you are. How much do you really care about other people? What were you
willing to do for someone in need of help? These are just a few questions that God may ask
someone. We share the same God, and that God does not pick and choose who he loves based on
their outward physique. God will see everything and punish those accordingly, those who are not
righteous and who use God as an excuse to do evil. I would ask you if you would like to be
disfranchised from all your rights, merely because your skin is white, for no other crime. I ll
venture and say, these very characters who hold the skin to be such a barrier in the way would be

Pandemic Death Monologue
Pandemic Death So It started when I was young about nine years of age and it was early in the
year 1350. It started a little like this, there was a knock on the door and I got up to go see who it
was. When I opened the door there was a man on his horse. The man asked my parents were
home, they were, so I said I could go and get them. Once I had gotten my parents the man asked if
they are willing to go on a trip through the sea to Kwillining, London. They said they would, so
they put in there few overalls and dirty old jeans into a small waggon that are going to have to hall

The voice was booming, dark, and scary. They then suddenly I saw the door split in two. A man
about twice the height as me then thundered in. The man started rambling on about how everyone is
dieing and that the world was going to end. I noticed there were swollen oval shaped things the size

The man then asked, I ve traveled a long way and i m so tired of seeing dead bodies everywhere I

I told him he could stay a while and I got him some fresh water. The man said he would replace our

He got up and was getting ready to leave when he fell to the floor weakly and started coughing up
blood. We knew exactly what this meant. He had the
Essay On Diversity And Diversity
In the age of globalization, harmony within diversity should be nurtured and cherished by the
modern society. According to www.dictionary.com, diversity is the state or fact of being diverse;
different or unlikeness . The word diversity can be used to describe myriad of situation in this
world. However, it is commonly used to express the diversity of culturein a country. Harmony within
diversity can be translated as peacefulness among multiracial societies that live together in a country.
Fortunately, people in Malaysia, our beloved country practice harmony within diversity. In my
opinion, the importance of the nurturing and cherishing of harmony within diversity in our country
is uncountable.

First and foremost, harmony within diversity of culture in our country is the main key to promote
unity among races. Unity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our country s peacefulness among people is always admired by the foreigners. It is our honour to
live together happily regardless of race, cultural background and mother language. AsiaNews had
reported that Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is our Deputy Prime Minister in 2006 had said that the
United Kingdom is keen to learn from the Malaysian experience in promoting tolerance and
harmony amongst its many ethnic groups by quoting his British counterpart, John Prescott, who
began a four day visit on October 28, 2006. In addition, the fusion of our people s cultures is also
an attraction to foreign travellers. For instance, architecture in Malaysia is a combination of many
styles, from Islamic and Chinese styles to those brought by European colonists. Baba Nyonya

In The Garden of Evil , Old Mwanza s concept of truth becomes a reflection of the white master s
influence and also the inept recognition of his inferiority. The truth that he hangs on to is the
supremacy of the whites. He even tells his sons not to take so much part in the ongoing revolution
against the white people; he believes that it would be a worthless cause. This stance takes on such
an intensive impact that even his own sons are described as creepy, crawling monsters who said
they were his progeny and bore no resemblance to him. [vii] At the end of the novel, it is
perceived that Mr. Parker and his family are reduced to nothing; Mr. Parker has been brutally
killed in front of his wife and children by Old Mwanza s sons. This act and scene stupefies Old
Mwanza: All the truth that Old Mwanza had gleaned from him, which Old Mwanza had embraced
as universal truth, was being challenged. Old Mwanza tried to cling to his belief in Mr. Parker s
invincibility.[viii] There is a hint of violence projected in the story which can be aligned to Fanon s
concept of violence. According to him, decolonization was always a violent phenomenon. The native

Examples Of Violence In Huckleberry Finn
Within the book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn there is much violence that takes place.
Most people without reading the book would think that it is about just a young Missouri boy that
found much violence throughout his time out and about traveling up and down the Mississippi
River. Throughout the book there were numerous deaths through violence and hate. I feel as if the
river in the book symbolized a safe place for Huck and Jim while on the banks of the Mississippi
was violence and a cruel world. The Colonel Sherburn and Boggs incident was a violent part of the
book. Mr. Boggs had come into town drunk one day demanding that Colonel Sherburn come out and
fight him. Colonel Sherburn came out of his house and told the people that if they

The Theories Of Scientific Naturalism
In society today there are two worldviews that tend to be complete opposites, the ideas of scientific
naturalism against Christianity. These worldviews are incredibly opposite, but there may be areas
that the two opposing sides could meet on. Both views have valid ideas to contribute to the
argument. We strengthen our beliefs through ideological conflict with others. Both view points are
strengthened when compared to each other rather than presented separately with no alternative view
to oppose it. Before we start one question needs to be answered, what is scientific naturalism and
what are our parameters for Christianity. Scientific naturalism relies heavily on scientific
observation. The view claims that everything in the universe can... Show more content on

Pentecostal (e.g.keener), Orthodox (e.g.Hart,Swinburne), and Anglican (e.g.Mcgrath) Christian
worldview may disagree in certain areas but they have no difficulty coming together on key points
and in fact, have much more in common than they have in opposition. A Christian worldview
recognizes a higher power that created the universe and is present in it with the capability to
manipulate events as he pleases. This worldview also allows communication with this being. There
is an immortal soul in all of use and a supernatural non physical place where it can reside with God
after death. The scriptures are seen as inspired by the creator God and are records of his influence
throughout history and thus are eye witness accounts of his ability to interact within his creation.
Christianity has much to work with in presenting the argument against Scientific Naturalism. A
Christian worldview can embrace science and use it to its advantage. Christianity gains the upper
hand because it can use the ideas of Scientific Naturalism but is not limited to strict scientific method
. There can be a deeper explanation for events that seem so impossible in a closed universe. Its
downfall is that it cannot remain strictly objective and empirical. It also cannot prove that an
unexplainable event took place due to manipulation from their creator. It could just as easily be

Classical Era Music
Question 1.)

Listening to this symphonic piece it seems to have many characteristics of a piece from the
Classical Period in the Classical Era. I do not believe that this is a piece from the 20/21st Century
because doesn t fall into the many subcategories of the music of that period. This piece could not be
from the atonal phase where the music avoids what is considered a tonal center. It could not be
considered to a be a piece from modernism, populism, serialism, experimentalism, minimalism, or
post modernism as it is structured and follows many of the characteristics of the Classical Period
and Era. Listening to the entire piece I noticed a variety of meter and tempo changes the piece

I believe that the texture is homophony, this texture was typical in the Classical Era. The piece
also highlighted instruments in solos in this piece. In 0:36 0:47 and beautiful violin solo is
featured and other solos are featured throughout the piece. I believe that the piece is in sonata form,
which is appropriate for the era I believe this piece to be in. In sonata form we can hear the
exposition start near the beginning or the song, the development builds up to the recapitulation that I
find most recognizable at approximately 9:26. Overall, I thought that this was a beautiful piece and I

Who Is The Wife Of Martin Guerre
Question: Rewrite your Martin Guerre essay with relevance to whether the ideologies of society if
being reinforced or challenged; make sure to mention in respect to the book s context, contemporary
society and your own context.

Literary writers incorporate narrative elements in order to convey the flaws of humanity in society,
such as gender or class based issues. The Wife of Martin Guerre, by Janet Lewis, portrays the
individual s struggles in feudalist, sixteenth century France and delves into the issues of a complete
authoritarian rule, the place of women in patriarchal societies, and the concepts of family honour,
justice, truth and love. Lewis utilises metaphorical characterisation of Monsier Guerre, Bertrande de

challenging the ideology of a restricted homemaker role with a lack of control over life choices and
education. Lewis considers the strength needed in order to defy the constraints society places one
into and the potential a woman has to independence. Lewis teaches her readers the tenacity one must
have in adversity, disregarding the restrictions placed upon a person s gender.

The concept of true love is challenged through Bertrande s struggle between her desire of the
impostor, the love she had rejected for it was forbidden, and her loyalty to her husband, the love
that had rejected her. The limitations of her power to decide her own life, and the resultant of
circumstances beyond her control, deepens her internal struggle of expediency for the mesnie s sake

illustrates Bertrande s love for Martin as a habitual love born from a convenient arranged marriage

My #2 suggestion was Athletic Trainer and my #3 was Massage Therapist. I believe that all of

chosen to research Obstetrics because of how advanced it is and the fact that this profession deals
with babies and mothers and pregnancies, which are all very interesting to me.
In the past, Obstetrics was carried out by the midwives. There was not much knowledge of the
advanced way we deal with complications in pregnancies back then, therefore midwives were the
pregnancy experts. In the 1300 s, the first C section was performed on a deceased woman, to save
the baby, and before the 1500 s, C sections were only performed if the mother was beyond help and
almost always resulted in the death of the mother. But as C sections became more widely recognized
in the early 1800 s, Obstetrics became the first physician specialty recognized in the U.S. In these
years, the UK and Ireland had an 80% mortality rate for C sections. Today, 32% of deliveries are
by Cesarean Section, and maternal mortality rates are at 0 in a large series of cesareans in some
settings, according to nih.gov. This is good, and by the looks of it these numbers will be
increasingly common as medical strategies are improved. Additionally, the Pap smear was not
discovered until 1923 by a man named Georgios Nicholas Papanikolaou, M.D., Ph.D. He had
